Seyi beats other housemates to emerge as this week's 'Head Of House.'

After an hour of intense competition amongst the housemates, Seyi emerged victorious as the new head of house.

This week's competition saw housemates compete for one of the most cherished positions in the house.

As usual, the challenge changes every other week and so was this week as Big Brother made the housemates tie a balloon on their ankles. Then the other housemates were to make sure they deflate the ballon of another housemate.

Biggie announced Seyi as the head of house. This makes him the sixth head of house since the show started. He gets 250 Bet9ja coins and the 'head of house' room to himself.

When asked who he would love to share the room with, Seyi told Big Brother that Esther would be his company for the week.

Eze Chikamnayo, a former Commissioner of Abia state, has recounted his near-death experience with men he suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

In a post he shared on his Facebook wall, Chikamnayo said he was driving through the Isuochi-Enugu road when he was attacked.

Posting photos of his bullet-ridden car, Eze wrote

Yesterday, around 5:30 Pm as I drove from Isuochi to Enugu, the unthinkable happened. This was just before UNTH after Awgu junction.

Suddenly, this hooded Person jumped out of the bush in front of me and started shooting at my Car. Before I could make anything out of it another three appeared a bit in front and bullets started flying everywhere. I have been hearing about Fulani Herdsmen but what I saw yesterday is better imagined than experienced.

The stories I have read on how these guys operate and THE EVER ABIDING PRESENCE OF JEHOVAH all worked in those few minutes. I was determined not to stop. My Staff, Prince, who was on the Passenger sit literally passed out. As the bullets rained on my Car, I kept speeding away.

About one Kilometer from there, Just before UNTH and NNPC Mega Station was a Military Checkpoint. I heaved a sigh of relief and slowed down. I told the Army guy what was going on just behind their Post. He casually told me that they were aware.. that the driver in front of me just told them. I asked him why he was still standing there without making any move to save the vehicles behind, and he just looked at me blankly and waved me on.

By now, my entire dashboard was full of red lights. The temperature of my Car hit the highest point on the meter. I slowly drove down to the front of NNPC opposite UNTH and pulled the Car out of the road.

It was then it dawned on me what happened. There were over 20 bullet holes in my front fender. Most of these bullets hit directly at my Radiator and other things in front of the engine. The tyres which they were after, didn't get a scratch. There were also two bullet holes on the passenger side of the Car. And few others around the Booth. Let God be praised !

But in ALL these, NOT ONE OF THOSE BULLETS TOUCHED MY BODY AND THAT OF PRINCE, the boy with me. Iam yet to know what became of other incoming vehicles. But at the Military Checkpoint, we pleaded with the army people to alert others not to go in that direction.

Praise God with me.

Nigeria is surrounded.

Nowhere is safe.

This thing is far more serious.

The Government and people of Nigeria should better treat this as an emergency. It's beyond Politics. Anyone can be a victim.

The video of a woman flogging a boy after which she locked him up in a cage with dogs has caught the attention of celebrities, including that of Toyin Abraham and Alibaba.

Reacting to the child abuse incident, Toyin Abraham wrote:

The heart of man is wicked. Can you imagine? After beating up the kid you had to still lock him up in a dog's cage and we keep complaining about our Government and people around us. Have you checked yourself? The wickedness we do to people around us and how we want other people down is totally unacceptable. We need to be better. We need to do better. This truly made me sad. A ram fighter was yesterday stabbed to death after his ram lost a fight at Isawo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State. The ram owner, simply identified as Yusuf, was stabbed during a betting competition, where the sum of N4,000 was staked for his ram to win a horn fight with another ram.

According to an eyewitness, “Yusuf had taken his ram for a fight against another ram owned by one Tiny and they both bet N4,000. However, after Yusuf’s ram was seriously knocked out and he lost his money, he picked up a fight with Tiny, who stabbed him to death with a knife.”

The alleged killer, popularly called Tiny, was promptly arrested by detectives from Isawo police station and officers from the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps.

Over the years in Lagos, ram-fighting contests have become something of a seasonal mainstay in the days before the annual Sallah festival. In the 80s and 90s, it was a common sight to see young boys moving about Lagos neighbourhoods with rams during the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

The youngsters would gather at a random spot and watch their rams duke it out, butting heads and entertaining passers-by, especially in areas like Lagos Island, Oshodi, Mushin, Ojuelegba and Ajegunle.

A man identified as Mr. Seidu Dan Iya has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly slitting his daughter's throat.

The suspect believed to be suffering from a psychological problem after an alleged long time drug abuse was arrested after a neighbour reported the incident to the police. It was further learnt that when neighbours asked the suspect why he slit his daughter’s throat he said that he just felt like doing it.

The State's police spokesperson DSP Suleiman Yahaya, confirmed the arrest of Seidu and further disclosed that an investigation has been launched to establish the health condition of the suspect in police custody.

Though Dr. Elkanah Patrick who treated 8-year-old Zarau Seidu at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yola said the girl has a 50-50 chance of survival, the hospital's Head of Clinical Services Dr. Yerima Suleiman Yusuf, said the hospital will treat the victim free of charge.

He said: “We have a Paupers’ Fund from which we will treat this patient, because we realise that the mother is not ready and the father has a psychiatric problem.”

A Kano High Court on Wednesday sentenced a 25-year-old man, Umar Yakubu, to death by hanging for stabbing his friend, Ibrahim Adamu, 22, to death during an argument over N20 loan.

Yakubu, who lives at Sabuwar Gandu Quarters in Kano State, was convicted on one count of culpable homicide, contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code Law.

Delivering judgment, Justice Dije Aboki, held that the prosecution has proved its case beyond reasonable doubts.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Lamido Soron-Dinki, told the court that on June 13, 2018 at around 11:00 a.m in Sabiwar Gandu Quarters, Kano, the convict asked the deceased to give him a loan him of N20.

Soron-Dinki said the convict stabbed the deceased in the chest with scissors during an argument over the N20 loan.

Soron-Dinki presented six witnesses before the court while the convict defended himself.
