Obi1kenobi:

No they're not.
Obi1kenobi:
rrelevant. You asked how Anambra people are running to Ogun. I'm pointing out Ogun hosts more industries than any state outside Lagos and it's a hub for skilled graduates looking for skilled work.
Obi1kenobi:
Again, nobody said this. You're building a strawman and arguing against the nonsensical strawman you erected due to your failure of comprehension. Again, nobody said this. You're building a strawman and arguing against the nonsensical strawman you erected due to your failure of comprehensionUnderemployment is skewed towards white collar workers in skilled jobs in the organized private sector whose skills are underutilized in the job. It is less applicable to self-employed traders for example - which is why Anambra may fare better than civil service states like Imo or a state with a strong organized private sector like Ogun. Again, it is not the sole arbiter of which economy is bigger or which isn't. In the same NBS stats you're mastuurbating over, a number of states listed with bigger GDPs than Anambra like Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Rivers etc have far higher unemployment and underemployment rates than Anambra. How is that consistent with your claim?

Yes they are in Ogun because we have human resources in Abundance.. They go to Ogun to take away the jobs from Ogun indigenes since there's a shortage of workforce in Ogun.. While Anambra is the least in unemployment with indigenous workforce, Anambra indegenes still make up a large chunk of Ogun workforce according to you. Win Win

Lol the clown has now exposed himself. The same Anambra that has the largest industrial presence in Eastern region. The same Anambra with the largest population in the region. How silly and dumb can one be at the same time bikonu. Even just IVM company alone in Anambra has more university graduate engineers than all the states in the region. Have some self pity for yourself cheesy

Obi1kenobi:

schooled in UNN with plenty of Anambrarians in my Engineering class. Most of them are in Lagos, Ogun, PH, Abuja, Enugu etc because those are where the jobs are for white collar, skilled professionals. I know like one of them that works with Enugu Distribution Company in Anambra. I hardly know any of them that are based in Anambra.

Just look at the clown lol. When they beat him here, he will jump to another post. These guys have really destroyed you here. cheesy

[s]
Obi1kenobi:

Why would you assume 2016 stats would show different trends from 2020? If they are radically different, then NBS figures are simply fake and made up.
And the stats are from NCC via NBS. NCC are the custodians of the stats as the regulatory body of the comms sectors, and NBS obtained it from them, so I don't know what you're rambling about the stats being from NBS not NCC. And I didn't say anything about phone lines being a factor in measuring economy. That's your failure of comprehension (no surprises there). I touted the stats as an oddity that should bring into question, the claims about Anambra's huge population. And yes, registered phone users should obviously be correlative with the population and comparative affluence of residents of a geographical area. Only a few things can explain why Ogun has about double the number of registered voice and data subscribers that Anambra has: either it has a bigger population, or Ogun's residents are more affluent and sophisticated, or Ogun's residents have a comparatively high fixation with phones compared with Anambrarians, or the statistics from NCC themselves are dubious. And no, having more people in employment doesn't mean a bigger economy. Obviously, the type of employment and the level of remuneration of said employment would be contributory factors. All jobs are not equal. So your "common sense" is not really very sensible.

Yet another useless worthless post from a hopeless useless worthless frustrated fellow. cool

Obi1kenobi:

very single state which built an airport claimed the same thing. Every single one. They all had lofty dreams about the airports transforming their states to Dubai or Singapore. A few years later, after the high overhead costs of running the airport and low patronage starts to hit hard, they contact the FG and hand over the liability for FAAN to run. They didn't see IPP projects to invest in to supply power to an underserved state. Or connect gas pipelines to serve industrial clusters. Or critical infrastructural projects closer to communities in water supply, erosion control, road construction etc. The vision was to squander N6billion to N8billion annually on a white elephant, vanity project. After lying with useless MOUs initially claiming the construction of the airport will be a private-driven venture.

As you can see Anambra has more labour force than Ogun and yet Anambra still has more employed than Ogun.. This should be enough to shut you up if you have any sense...

Yet another useless worthless post. Anambra international airport is gonna be Nigeria's busiest airport aside Lagos and Abuja. Why didn't you use the Nigeria Census records to determine the population? Ob1kenobi you are so empty. See how you are being dragged all over the mud. cheesy

[s]
Obi1kenobi:

GDP is a very hard statistic to measure and includes a lot of projections - especially the services sector which is mostly informal, unlike the organized private sector. If NBS had put Ogun above Anambra, your type would still be the same to cry Yoruba bias. By measurable indices, Ogun, which is basically Lagos extension, is a more vibrant economy than Anambra - which is why it generates far higher IGR than Anambra. I also doubt Anambra has a bigger population than Ogun. Anambra's tiny landmass gives people the illusion that it is more populated than it actually is due to the population density, but if you look at statistics like Nigerian Communication Commission stats for number of active voice lines and data subscribers, Anambra does not even make Nigeria's top 10 and ranks far behind states like Ogun, Oyo, Rivers etc and even ranks behind states like Edo and our neighbors, Delta:
https://www.nairaland.com/3114368/nigerian-states-number-registered-phone
Nigeria has not done any census in over 14 years and we do not have accurate demographic data. Whether you claim Ogun is backward outside boundary towns with Lagos is irrelevant. The fact is that those boundary towns with Lagos are still part of Ogun and Ogun collects taxes from the industries and residents there. And it is not even a true statement. I've been to Abeokuta and other than perhaps Onitsha it's comfortably more developed than any part of Anambra.

Very correct

post=99052797:

If you're are not stupid go and study recent GDP, to know why Anambra has larger economy than Ogun, services contributes more to Nigeria's economy more than industrial sector, Anambra is one of the leading states in services, Ogun state is two states below Anambra state in economy, Anambra is commercial hub and doing credibly well in industrial and agro sector, Ogun is far below Anambra in commerce, Anambra has more population than Ogun, Anambra commercial sector absorb unemployed than Ogun, recent data clearly show Anambra rank lowest in unemployment index and low in poverty index, in Ogun outside areas that share boundaries with Lagos, the state is backward, Anambra is second most densely populated state after Lagos.

Nwanne you are always on point. We always thank God for you on this thread because you are always coming through with burst of energy filled with facts and figures.

ChimaAdeoye:

I don't know why these people are so pained by this airport. I ran into a discussion among some of them in Facebook on how it would take 100 years to do perimeter fencing of the airport because it should be block concrete walls. From the desperate sound of the dude to find something wrong with the airport, i suspect he might be one of them here. He sounded so strikingly like this Mktinsight A.K.A obikenobi by how he confidently argued what was blatantly false by mixing a lot of misinformation and unrelated issues.

So I decided to just post these pictures of renowned international airports globally from New York JFK, Atlanta airport and London Heathrow to buttress the point that barbed-wire fences are the global standards for perimeter airport fencing! Airport fences are simply to prevent intrusion of large animals like cows into the runway. In fact, in many African international airports, the pole holding these barbed wires are made of wood! Meaning local carpenters alone can insert these wooden pegs in the soil, stand their base with a little concrete and nail barbed wires onto them. That should suffice for perimeter fencing around the runway.

Besides, many so called international airports in Nigeria are not even fenced at all. Anyone making such silly argument to discredit the airport should drop it and look for something else!

Your posts are useless. It is not needed here. Anambra international airport doesn't concern you. Take your post back because it is useless. Anambra state government is working and maintaining its infrastructures all over Anambra cities. Again, Anambra international airport is gonna be the busiest airport in Nigeria aside Abuja and Lagos. You have failed and shall continue to fail. Everyone here has rejected you. cool

mktinsight:

Everywhere common sense exists my name gives you nightmares. All the misinformation is coming from people like you with your poor understanding of airport economics. The fence is the least of Anambra State Airport worries. The ANSG should worry about:1) How Umueri airport terminal that can only handle 400 passengers at a time can have sufficient TRAFFIC to be PROFITABLE.2) How its airport will be any different from Asaba airport which despite all the optimistic projections of the Uduaghan administration is a certified money sink put that Okowa concessioned out for a paltry 100m naira per year.3) How its airport will not lose more than the 1 billion yearly that Owerri Airport which has the highest traffic in the SE loses every year.4) How its airport will attract more than the 50,000 passengers that currently fly through Enugu "International" Airport. 5) How it will find money every 10-15 years to refurbish the runway at costs over 10 billion when the government cannot maintain the few simple roads it has built in Onitsha or Awka.) How it will not end up like Dutse Airport built with great enthusiasm with Jigawa state funds only to be handed over to the federal government to run by the state government when all financial projections failed.
