Truth is female don't get initiated into Ifa system. Only males se-Ifa (stage 1) and te-Ifa (stage 2). You can be initiated into any of the other Orisha ways, and still become an Iyanifa, besides IFA is central to all 400 divinities. Anyone is free to consult IFA too regardless of whether you are an initiate or not.

Ok I'm just going by what my babalowo has been teaching me and planning for me. He told me I was being initiated so that's what I'm expecting.

Go to this site for official currency rates. They also have an app on both iOS and Android platforms.

Numbeo tells you the average cost of living in Lagos, which you could use as a variable yardstick for other Nigerian states/cities.

Thank you so much! Bless you dearie

Some people don't find love in 1 lifetime. So What are the chances of falling in love with someone across the ocean living in another country? An unforced natural love. The kind of love that no matter how far you are away from eachother your souls feel inches apart. You connect mentally and spirituality like you've known eachother your whole life. You talk and talk, send and receive Letters, phone calls, pictures, you become best friends, supportive of one another, learning from eachother. After some years, you both realize that you cannot continue to live without the other. So you two start making plans to have a life together. They say if love is meant to be it will find a way, but really What are the odds?
How's that for romance? kiss

I've already stated that I'll be taking a trip there before deciding to move. I'll be traveling back and fourth from America to Africa.. Im not asking that you tell me what to do and I didn't come here to be spoken rudely to. It's not necessary to get mad over a choice I'm considering, especially if you've never been to America and don't know the life that I come from. I'm just asking for advice here as part of my research. I would never move anywhere that I haven't studied and researched and this is something I'm strongly considering and no one will scare me a way from it without me seeing the life for myself. I've heard a lot of good things about Nigeria. I have Nigerian friends and I work with Nigerians here in the U S. As stated before This is just part of my research not a debate or discussion that leads to arguing back and fourth . Mature replies only please and thank you I come in peace

Hello family! My name is Janae' I live in America and in the future I really would like to move to Africa. I'm thinking I want to locate in Nigeria. I have never traveled there but I am planning a trip to visit and I hope to come next year to see my culture and how life is for you guys. A little about me is that business wise when I do decide to move I can design clothes and purses for money. I'm very crafty. Can anybody tell me a few things about your land and culture. How would everyday life be for someone like me coming from America? Do you have any photos of where you live and different plant and ways of life I can see? I am really fascinated with your culture. I just want to learn. Please fell free to leave me any advice or information. I'd like to move within the next 10-15 years

Hi, I actually have contacted an ifa priest from Nigeria via facebook. his name is Babalawo Awo . I've learned a lot from his page but unfortunately I don't have the funds right now to be taught. But I seek a lot of info via facebook and YouTube.

Hi family, I just wanted to say its true! I live in America and a lot of us are returning to our nature. Like there is a shift in the universe or something. We are fed up. With the government, religion, the food ect. I myself have been studying the ifa religion and I find it fascinating. I wish I had the privilege of being born into it because I need that guidance. Right now I'm teaching myself it's kind of hard but I am learning. A lot of others have been showing concern too and dropping Christianity. We're sick of the lies. A lot of people are still sleep and unaware but their is a good percentage of us who seek truth and are fighting to come home

Hello family . I haven't posted in a while here. I wanted to ask does anyone use stones and crystals for healing . Or natural healing herbs. I live in America but I've been reading a lot of natural healing holistic health. I'm really enjoying this study. I'm not sure if many of you still do it now but I read the ancestors use to use these methods do you still use natural healing? I'm just looking for more info on my african culture. I love you all

eddy1977: @ Glamrock, or should I say @ Adamma wink (as per god of music), It ll be cool if you could share with us when the DNA results are in! I for one would love to celebrate with you.
If it turns out that you have a little Igbo in you,I am pretty sure that any Igbo would easily plant a kiss on your cheeks . There a certain TD Jakes in Dallas Tx (Bald headed fat, tall screaming cult leader and televangelist) who felt the same way like you do about the Igbo connection.Even before going in for DNA processing,He believed He was of Igbo parentage.sure enough,he was right.
It may just be that Igbo blood never gets lost.

THANKYOU for your support! You all will most definitely be the first to know when the results are in! I know who exactly Bishop TD Jakes is grin and you see it is possible to feel it in the spirit!

Oh and to also reply to your comment about just not doing the DNA test, that is a must! I have to do that, I do embrace igbo and glad people are connecting me to some root in Africa but my life will not be complete until I really know who I am. I have no idea where I came from (in detail) . And it's still apart of my soul that aches for that knowledge , it's apart of who I am

Congratulations on your journey. You are doing the right thing.
However I would like to point to a few things.

Biology 105 teaches that only genotypes can reveal bloodline/genealogy/ancestry. Just to say that: you looking igbo means absolutely nothing because there is no such a thing as looking like a igbo.
There are millions of Subsaharan Africans who look like igbos.
Infact I can guarantee you that if you posted your picture on a Kenyan, south african, heck even Ethiopian forum will assign you a tribe in their country.

Also, feeling a spiritual connection to Nigeria means nothing. Oprah used to feel like she had a Zulu soul.turned out she came from the kpele Liberian gene pool.

Untill you do the ancestral dna test, just convince yourself that one of your male ancestor came from SOMEWHERE-AFRICA.

On a personal note, if I was in your shoes I wouldn't even do the dna thing.I would just embrace the igbo tribe and call them my ancestors/people.
Since you have been told that you look igbo just embrace it. Find a way to plug on the igbo community. Learn their language. Possibly add an igbo name to your name.take a few trips to igboland.

Once again congratulations on this journey.

I've thought deeply about that (just embracing the Igbo tribe) I know just because I may look igbo doesn't mean I am but so many Africans have told me so on and off this forum and many other things about my personality that are "Igbo like" that's another reason why I just feel a connection even if my ancestors may not have come from Nigeria it's a 90% chance that they are , most definitely from a country in west Africa . Anyway I just wasn't sure how people would feel if I just went upon myself to claim their tribe . Don't want to come off as rude or offend anybody by doing so.
