It was Erica Jong who said, "Everyone has talent. What's rare is the courage to follow it to the dark places where it leads."

This quote is perfectly true of the man, Mr. Christian Humphery: Champion who because of the love he has for his people sat, thought and came out with the decision to use that which is in them to empower them — talent.

He went on a voyage discovering that which God has deposited in his people with the primary aim of ensuring that they maximize it for their personal interest, that of their family members and the community at large.

He was equipped with the knowledge of the fact that if his mission of discovering that which the young people in his Ideato community has, it will be a starting point in liberating them from the oblivion of penury.

In achieving this, he introduced a multi millionaire sports tournament where he focused on catching them young from their very young years.

As an outstanding unifier, through his foundation, Onyekachi Great Vision, OGV Foundation, Mr. Humphrey also used the tournament to enhance a peaceful co-existence and harmonious living among communities in Ideato North.

Highly endowed with the spirit of humility, this fine gentleman who stands tall as a man of many firsts broke a record with the sports tournament which spanned about three months among all the 61 primary schools in the whole of Ideato North local government area of Imo State.

He did not stop at the provisions all the necessary logistics that were needed, which included over 2000 jersey, 95 footballs, buses for transportation for 3 months, foods and first aid kit, he also ensured the security and comfort of these young ones

The tournament, just like any other one was full of excitement, suspense, emotion as groups, individuals and school authorities supported their various teams, making it fun for both players, their schools and spectators.

At the end of the highly prestigious tournament, the Model Primary School Akokwa took the first position with a trophy and a huge amount of money while Model primary school Arondizuogu took second position.

Also, Model Primary school Urralla excitedly took home the third price.

Top dignitaries were not left out of the event as they took time to extol Mr. Humphrey for his thoughtfulness in building a solid future that holds hope for the younger ones.

Head Chief Jude Ugbaja, a former SA on Public Enlightment to Imo State Governor. "Iam happy and elated about the fact that a dynamic and vibrant philanthropic son of Ndiuche Izuogu has come to be a source of salvation to his own people , this is the first time we are experiencing this kind of project and support coming from a young man of this pedigree."

The testimonies at the grand finale of the tournament were cheery and they are letters of motivation that to spur Mr. Humphrey to do more for his people.

Chief Joe Ohaegbulama Imo state Director of Sports while applauding the tournament said it is a is a step in the right direction in boosting grassroot sports and raising future champions that will be on the saddle at local and foreign sporting events.

A professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics(ESUT) Prof. Igwe, a cousin of the sponsor expressed satisfaction with the initiative, urging Mr. Humphrey to continue the programme as God gives him the war chest so as to raise an army of sportsmen and women from Ideato North.

With these and numerous humanitarian outreaches he has undertaken, one will not be surprised to hear that he is being invited by his people to serve them in one capacity or the other. Will this happen? Only the coming days can tell.

Niger Delta Agitators Threaten Protest In Abuja If Sowore Is Not Arrested For Blackmailing Ned Nwoko

A group, Niger Delta Peace Agitators has given the Nigeria Police Force 48 hours ultimatum to arrest the publisher, Sahara Reporters Mr. Omoyele Sowore for allegedly blackmailing billionaire businessman, Ned Nwoko.

The group says it will mobilise its members to Abuja and stage a peaceful protest if Sowore is not arrested.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the group through its spokesperson, Mr. Kenule Nwiya Jr while stating that Niger Deltans are peaceful people vowed to resist any attempt to blackmail and threatened their illustrious, Ned Nwoko a former member of House of Representatives.

Mr. Nwiya accused Sowore of planning to eliminate Ned Nwoko, insisting that the Niger Delta Peace Agitators will resist attempts to kill any of its sons.

"We call on the Inspector General of Police, the Director General Department of State Services and in fact all law enforcement agencies in Nigeria to as a matter of urgency swing into action, get Mr. Sowore arrested.

"Because of the cult he joined today, that does not mean that he should be going around, threatening Niger Deltans.

"We as Niger Deltans will not allow this to happen. We are peaceful people but we are telling Mr. Sowore that the Niger Delta Peace Agitators will resist every form of attack towards our illustrious son, Ned Nwoko" he said.

The Niger Delta Peace Agitators spokesperson stated that Nigeria is surviving by resources from Niger Delta, warning that it will not watch as its illustrious sons and daughters are allegedly being threatened.

He extolled the anti malaria project of Ned Nwoko which he said Nigeria and the entire African continent will benefit from.

He added that the people of Niger Delta are more vulnerable to malaria than the rest of the country because of the waters around their environment.

Sowore a former presidential candidate of AAC is currently standing trial for allegedly accusing Ned Nwoko of using his anti malaria project to deceive and swindle African leader, an allegation Ned Nwoko has since denied.

Abuja Photographer Survives Ghastly Accident That Killed 3 Persons Along Benin-Auchi Expressway

An Abuja-based photographer, Mr. Ernest Ukam is full of thanksgiving to God for sparing his life in a ghastly auto crash that killed no fewer than three persons.

He had gone on a surprise birthday shooting assignment in Auchi when the incident happened.

Narrating his ordeal, Mr. Ukam said following the unfortunate incident which occurred along Benin-Auchi, the three dead victims were evacuated to the nearest mortuary while the surviving victims were rushed for medical attention.

He said trouble started when an articulated vehicle, popularly known as trailer lost control and rammed into a Sienna bus he was travelling with.

All efforts to reach the Edo State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC proved abortive.

Deriving from the last conversation between Prince Ned Nwoko and some leadership of the National Assembly on the Malaria Eradication Project of the Prince Ned Nwoko Foundation to establish a much more robust and sustainable structure to ensure the eradication of malaria in Nigeria, Chairman of the Foundation, Prince Ned Nwoko yesterday met with the Deputy Senate President Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Chairman Senate Committee on Health Sen. Ibrahim Oloriegbe.

Ned presented them with a draft Bill for an Act to establish an Agency of the Federal Government that will see to the sustainable implementation of the Malaria Eradication and Waste Management Project so as to ensure a Malaria Free Nigeria. According to Ned, Malaria is caused by dirty environment and stagnant waters.

If we can do proper sanitation, manage the wastes, fumigate the environment and in addition fund a malaria vaccine, malaria will be a thing of the past in Nigeria. He highlighted on the economic importance of this Bill and the willingness of private sector investment in power generation through the waste management and recycling project.

Senator Omo Agege received the Bill, promised to review and expressed willingness to sponsor the Bill and present it to the National Assembly after proper consultations. Senator Oloriegbe acknowledged the health challenges of Malaria in Nigeria and also agreed with Ned that this solution is plausible to fight this disease that has ravaged Nigeria and Africa for decades. He also promised to look at the proposed Bill.

Ned Nwoko addressed press men at the National Assembly Press Centre and informed them about the proposed Bill and his meeting with the above persons. In his response as to why the need for an agency, a question posed by one of the journalists, Ned state that the Agency will be a special purpose vehicle from the Federal Government, tasked specifically to ensure a sustainable implementation of the Malaria Eradication and Waste Management Strategies. In conclusion, he emphasized on the need for all and sundry to join hands together to put an end to malaria in Africa.
