You do it at Alagbon in Ikoyi. I paid 7k for it. The validity is 1 year. But 3 months is written on the cert.

In order to qualify for a K-1 visa, the beneficiary/applicant must convince the Consular officer that he or she has a bona fide spousal relationship with the petitioner. The decision to extend the validity of the petition will be at the discretion of the interviewing officer. However, if you are unprepared for this interview it is not likely the petition will be extended.

So after the interview, it was extended for four months starting from the date of interview.(i.e if interview date: Jan16th, then petition expiration: may 16th.

@legitbachelor,@sharpman1,@anjiee,@study4life Thanks guys i called them this morning and i got my ds160 confirmation linked on my appointment letter,it was sent to my email.. waiting to hear from @lagosiv now for response of validity extension mail i sent to them...thanks for the info,guidelines and all you give here bless you guys,lld follow this thread and ask for guidance as time goes on/also update u as medicals and interview goes.. cheers&kudos to everyone here....#gracias

Please if my fiancé goes with me for my interview, can I submit his passport along with mine?

I dont see any thing wrong with taking that step. I sha will recommend you add the email asking for extension with the affidavit of support form and other documents when you are first called at the window to drop those documents by the nigerian staff working at the embassy. I don't see a better chance to have the CO look at it.

One of the ways we can help is you telling us the documents you intend going with. We can advice you on whether they are enough.

Affidavit of support, pay stubs, spinsterhood certificate, reciept of our ring, payment reciept of our wedding hall, invitation card, call logs, chats, pictures, Birth cert, medicals, police report, is there any other thing to go with? Mekusa said I should print email asking for extension, and the reply from them also.

In qlife? That’s not the normal practice. I was given my result.

I got a response from the Embassy today.
Their response is smiliar to what sharpman posted.

That their advise is that I should attend my interview as scheduled. During my interview, I have to present documents/evidence to the consular officer to show that I am qualified and justify for my petition to be extended.

In order for me to qualify for K1 visa, I must convinced the CO that my relationship with my fiancee is a bona fide one.

The decision for my petition to be extended be will be at the discretion of the CO

That I must be prepared, if I am not prepared for the interview, is unlikely that the CO will extend the petition..

In this case, what can one present? I’m worried �

The appointment confirmation I got in my email has only one barcode . The UID, with 8 numbered under it.

And the ds160 confirmation I got has one barcode too. With about 10 numbers under it. Starting with alphabet.

So when I called them, they sent an email to me . Appointment confirmation email. And the email has both barcodes in it. So I’m confused . Because it’s still the same barcodes and numbers I got earlier, but just that they now put both on the same page. ( appointment confirmation page)

I know I’m really disturbing with all my complaint. I’m sorry. I just don’t know how these thing is done

And for the ds160 print out, the confirmation number is the same number under the barcode. And that’s the only barcode on the confirmation printout

The barcode is a mixture of letters and figures and it should be ten in number.The one you referring to that has eight numbers is the UID( the one with eight numbers is at the bottom right of the DS 160).

I still don’t understand. The email that was sent to me has 2 barcodes. One with ds160 confirmation number that has about 10 letters. The other is UID that had 8 numbers. Both under mrv payment details .

Oh maybe I didn't understand what she meant.

@Glorioussugar, there are two bar code numbers on the Interview Confirmation Printout. One will be that of the DS160 the other will be that of the Interview Confirmation. So as long as you can see a bar code number on the printout that matches with the DS160 number, you are fine.

I think you really need somebody who knows the process to be physically with you so as to guide you properly.

I still don’t understand . Will it be the same number? The ds160 barcode has about 8 numbers. And the other one has about 6numbers

Yes I’ve submitted it. Both has barcodes but different numbers. I called, and the same thing was still sent to my email

I was able to scheduled a date
But my Ds 160 confirmation code is 10 digits which is different from the barcode on my appointment confirmation code which is the code on top of my profile account that appeared as the barcode ( which 8 digits I usually see at the top of my profile account when I login )

Were you able to rectify this issue? I called them and I just recieved an email, but the barcodes are still not the same

Yes Gloria both of them much match if it doesn't match I will advise you call the embassy right away and explain the challenges to them they will rectify it immediately send you the correct confirmation page with the matching codes , they will do that while you are on call with them and they will ask you to confirm you have received it before they hang off the phone .. Please do that now to avoid issues on that day ...

I think the ds160 form for female differs from that of male, guess that’s why your previous work experience is missing.

Then for your monthly income I don’t think you should leave it blank, I believe you make sales everyday and in a month you should be able to know the average you make. So plus or minus you earn something monthly that should be your income
