@glorioussugar, I can’t even start to explain how bad I feel about your denial,you’re one of the people I’ve talked to most on here to I’m sorry about your case.

1 you should have told us about your ex and all that Jazz,you were informed enough to understand that previous applications affect this process so you should have told us way before you even filled your form.

2. They just wanted to waste your time with those questions,they already denied you cos of the discrepancies with your forms and all of that.

3. K1 visas are not appealeable so you should start making the next move
A. Go back to your ex and y’all should go to a court and get a divorce letter,that y’all didn’t marry under the law does not mean you can’t get a divorce certificate.you can get it.
B. It’s going to take a very long time so I’ll advice you to be prepared for what’s coming your way.your fiancé is gonna need to come home and marry you and apply for a spousal visa again and it’s a long process but you’ll pull through.make sure that all the loopholes are fixed this time around before he even comes home.

Those guys are looking for any reason to deny. Any small excuse or doubt, they capitalize.

A friend was denied in December. Everything seemed perfect and the only reason we could fathom was because they only had one physical meeting because the CO said he was not convinced the relationship is bonafide.

So sorry for the denial. Did you get the spinsterhood certificate? And did your fiance submit it in the initial petition to USCIS? Also did you guys submit the Letter of Intent to Marry in the original Petition to USCIS?

This is also a very important question.

Yeah that response is strange. It suggests you either just want to get married to get papers OR you truthfully just want to be a housewife in the US. The latter maybe difficult to believe but if that's the truth then it's fine.

I think the issue was the fact that you were living together with OJO ( is called a common-law marriage).

In a common-law marriage, the two people involved are living together as if they were husband and wife. But there is no marriage certificate or religious ceremony involved.

Is a recognized type of marriage in western world
That's why he kept on asking you about OJO
And secondly, it might be that Ojo filled that both of you were married in 2013, And there was no any evidence to proof otherwise.

Nope. W2 is from the employer, tax returns is from the tax payer.

The employer sends w2 to the tax payer who uses it to prepare the tax returns.

Best is to get tax transcripts directly from the IRS.....it contains all the information required and removes all doubt.

Nigerian police report is valid for 3 months. I read somewhere saying it is valid for 6 months.

If I were you, I’d leave nothing to chance. I won’t know how to feel if after all is said & done, something as trivial as PCC stops me from getting my visa.

Leave no stone unturned & prepare like the interview holds tomorrow.

Hello People.

I got help from this channel during my process. Hopefully someone gets help from this post too.

My Green Card petition got approved today.

Here is a summary if my timeline.

-K1 visa got approved in Lagos mid June this year

-got into US mid July

-filed for Adjustment of Status late August

-Biometrics late September

-Interview Scheduled mid November

-EAD got approved last Friday (yet to receive it)


-GC nterview held today (approved )

Interview Details:

-was scheduled for 12 noon

-we got there 11:2am

-went through security

-Got called in at 12:09

-CO separated and interviewed us individually.

-Grilled my woman for 15mins.
- Took her out, called me in and grilled me for 15mins.



Here are some of the Questions:

After oath,

-He first went through the i-485 form with me to verify if anything has changed after filing, He asked me same questions as contained in the form.

Asked a bunch of questions like if I am a terrorist, here to overthrow the govt, ever involved in child trafficking, ever removed from the country etc which I answered "No" to all.

Other questions in no particular order:

-How did you meet?

-who proposed?

-Describe your reactions when you arrived in the US.

-where did you guys first drive to?

-how many bathrooms are in your apartment

-what does your wife love doing?

-what meal does she love most?

-what meal do you love most?

-How much do you guys pay for rent?

-what's your wife's phone number?

-where does she work at?

-how many Tvs are at your apartment?

-what is your address here in the US.

-what are the names of her siblings?

-Names of her Parents.

These and several other questions, some of which were follow up to answers I had provided

At some point, he Said My answers corresponds with my wife's and therefore he was not going to waste too much of our time. Called my wife in and gave us detail information about what it means to be a permanent residence, said GC is valid for 2 years after which we will file for removal of conditions.
Said I can apply for citizenship after three yrs of becoming a permanent resident.

ADVICE.
You re good as far as your relationship is genuine. Panic not. Be patient, try not to get into any problems during wait period. Be sure you both have same story. Know your apartment

Get all your facts straight, above all, be real, be truthful, you just might not know what your wife was asked and what her answers were. However if you both are truthful, your answers will definitely tally.

Again, Make sure your story corresponds with your wife's. You might be interviewed separately.

Finally lIke many have said on this platform, put God first. My process went 3 times faster than I expected. It's a thing of surprise to get GC within 3.5 months of filing.

i finally got a response from Lagosiv this morning as regards validity date extension after two weeks of writting/reminder.. here is a screenshot of the response same as above in previous pages of this thread..

Lastly i have a question is it advisable i go with some of our introduction ceremony pictures?tho i have other pictures of us together but thinking if i should add some of our intro pics is it okay?hope CO's dont frown at intro pictures thinking it as being married or something?lld appreciate you guys response on it.. thank you

The response to your email was in 2018 but it seems things are slightly different now. Attached is the email I received from the embassy on Monday. Be as it may, we still hope for the best.

You might also want to call them as well and let them know your current situation.

After two weeks of my initial email to LagosIV with no reply, I sent them a reminder in the early working hours of today and barely two hours later, they replied me.

However, the reply is the same to what was shared in here.

@glorioussugar i havent heard from them too but would give them a warm reminder on monday,but i know all is well not worried about it ,as long as its isnt ones fault not getting a date before the expiration..most important thing is hve gotten a appt date and sure you have too?just get necessary documents as advised in prev pages of this thread,pray and prepare ahead for the interview.. the lord is our strength/mercy would speak for us...Amen
