Politics / When Will I.n.ec. Upload The Election Results According To Pulling Units? by GLYMAN: 8:38am On Mar 05, 2019
Has somebody googled the INEC site today?

https://www.inecnigeria.org/elections/election-results/?election_type=37&election_category=29&election_year=28&filter=true

From the link above, there is no results in there yet or does the electoral act forbid that too?

As for me, I am fully interested in the results of my Polling Unit that INEC officially has in their system. Perhaps, other voters may be interested in their PU results.

I believe, INEC should release the results in each PUs to:

(1) Confirm and affirm their neutrality

(2) To strengthen their transparency as alleged

(3) To restore confidence to voters et al that whose belief in the system is gone down.

(4) To exonerate them of numerous blames and accusations

(5) To make some un-satisfied contestants, that may be headed to the court/tribunal, to review their decision.

(6) And so on....

I trust INEC will do the needful as soon as possible.
Politics / Re: El Classico 2019: Pdp Vs Apc: List Your Starting 11, Coach & Technical Adviser by GLYMAN: 5:51am On Jan 08, 2019
To me, the top 9 in the PDP Team is player R. Omokri...a foreign-based player, very calculative and a clinical finisher. He scores from any distance...most times telescopic goals. Any Team would want to have him but he appears comfortable at Team PDP...

Hmmm...also in Team PDP, the creative mid-fielder is player B. Saraki...a home-based player with vast experience and dribbling skills...he can dribble the entire team of the opponent. He scored an own goal in the loan deal at Team APC and forfeiting the contract agreement, he quickly refunded himself back to Team PDP, his original team.

Then....the top 9 in the APC Team is player A. Oshiomole...a home-based player with very sharp attacking skills and a long range shot taker...given half-a-chance opportunity, he can score...he is a prolific striker indeed appears happy in his club.

And then...the creative mid-fielder is player B. Tinubu...a home-based player that knows his onus...a mid-field maestro that technically scored the winning goal at 2015 El Classico match...the burden is on him to deliver victory to his amiable team again...what a gifted player he is.

Then, the player on a short loan deal at Team APC is player G. Akpabio...a great defensive player with good ball control at Team PDP but is technically being fielded as an offensive mid-fielder in Team APC...

...Back to the drawing board...

Sports / The Day Jose Mourinho Was Sacked!!! by GLYMAN: 5:31pm On Dec 27, 2018
So, Jose Mourinho is finally gone and the spirit of winning just arrived Man Utd...

BIG QUESTIONS:

Is the recent success a function of the new coach...what did Solksgear add to the team in a few days that resurrected the spirit of winning?

With this recent form in Man Utd, who truly was the problem in Man Utd...Was it Jose Mourinho or Some Top Players or the Management?

MY SUBMISSION:

My take is that the players frustrated Mourinho as usual...and it is not the first time it is happening to him...reference Mourinho Vs John Terry et al at Chelsea, Mourinho Vs Sergio Ramos et al at Real Madrid, Mourinho Vs Paul Pogba et al at Man Utd...
Politics / 2019: ICG Identifies 6 Violence-prone States by GLYMAN: 10:49pm On Dec 25, 2018
A Brussels based conflict research and peace advocacy organisation, International Crisis Group (ICG) has identified six states it has described as violence-prone states across the federation, to watch out for during the 2019 general elections.

The states are Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna, Kano, Plateau and Adamawa State.

The group, in a recent report published with the title: Nigeria’s 2019 Elections: Six States To Watch, called on the federal government, other stakeholders and the country’s international partners to redouble efforts to prevent perceived violence around 2019 elections, particularly in the six states mentioned above.

In a statement signed by its Nigeria Senior Adviser, Nnamdi Obadiah and made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday, the group observed that “Nigeria’s elections have had history of violence, and there are already indications of potential violence around the 2019 polls.”

It said, “risks of violence are being driven by the ‘win or die’ attitude of many politicians and acrimony between the two major political parties, ahead of what could be a closely fought contest.”

Other risks identified by the group include, widespread distrust of security agencies, opposition parties’ misgivings about the neutrality of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), prevalence of armed conflict and violence in parts of the country, et al.

The group, which said while other states are not ruled out in the risks of violence, however advised that focus should be placed on the six states.

It further called on the federal government to speedily release all outstanding allocations to INEC and security agencies to enable them prepare adequately for the elections, thereby charging political parties to honour the Abdulsalam Abubakar-led peace accord.

Education / I Must Succeed In 2019!!! by GLYMAN: 2:28pm On Dec 25, 2018
One wonders what the 365 long days in 2019 holds...

The truth is that come what may, the son of man must shift forward and upward like never before...

My primary focus is that I desire starting a viable, solid-based, uniquely-branded business...precisely service business in Infotech and allied fields.

My secondary focus is that I need to upgrade professionally...Geology and Engineering disciplines.

My tertiary focus is that I need to build a family, a model home indeed...the heat from family and friends on this matter can bake some dough.

And it must come to pass even though I do not know how it will but there is someone that knows how...JESUS...the reason for the season...

However, contributions and counsel from renowned mentors will be gratefully appreciated.

Please note that this thread is for all that must succeed with me in 2019...you can share your primary, secondary and tertiary foci so that our great mentors will shed some good light.

SEE YOU AT THE TOP AND NOT FROM THE TOP IN 2019!!!
Events / Why Do You Celebrate Christmas...ahh, I Still See The Wicked Do Same!!! by GLYMAN: 2:03pm On Dec 25, 2018
I was reflecting on how lofty Christmas celebration used to be some years ago.

Today, all over the media, the same people that brought and sustained pains and hardship on many innocent citizens are ironically dishing out 'goodwill' messages left, right and center.

It is a 21st Century wonder to find native doctors, ritualists, armed robbers, pen robbers, rapists, fornicators, adulterers, gossips, dupes, liars, cheats, false prophets, fake pastors, some terrible politicians, some terrible employers and businessmen and so on, celebrate Christmas. What a joke!!! No conscience at all!!!

Here is the BIG question Brother/Sister...WHY DO YOU CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS...THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST?

Please ignore the usual subject of argument...the date viz second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, etc of birth of Jesus...Rather, focus only on the BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST because that is the most significant!

SHALOM...
Family / Re: I Want To Stop Womanizing (best Advice Needed) by GLYMAN: 9:58pm On Dec 20, 2018
It is a personal decision, Sir...

You can seriously and decisively make a vow between yourself and your maker...

Somebody I know womanized with assorted women, including the ex, and smoked for over 35 years until he made this dreadful vow, 'O God, the day I commit fornication or adultery, let me contract HIV AIDS and the day I smoke, let me contract CANCER'...

From that day, the urge, passion, desire, craving, yearning, longing, habit, name them, died in the man...he is free forever today and recommends this method for serious-minded folks that want to quit...

You may as well try this method!!!

Politics / Re: Buhari Has Asked NBS To Change Statistics On Unemployment Rate —Presidency by GLYMAN: 10:51pm On Dec 17, 2018
IamJames:
Eniola Akinkuotu, Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Statistician-General of the National Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Yemi Kale, to change the high unemployment statistics and reflect the rising rate of employment in the agriculture sector.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said this on Sunrise Daily, a programme on Channels Television.

Shehu said during a recent meeting with the Federal Executive Council, Kale admitted that the NBS was only focusing on the creation of white collar jobs and not the agriculture sector and the informal sector.

He said the President subsequently told him to go and admit his error to members of the public and make appropriate changes.

When asked why job losses were being recorded, Shehu said, “There was a departure last week. The NBS chief had addressed the federal cabinet and he made the admission himself that they had concentrated analysis over time on white collar jobs and they had not taken cognisance of job creation in areas of agriculture.

“Rice Producers Association of Nigeria made the open claim and nobody has challenged them up until the time that we speak, that they had created 12 million new jobs.

“When he finished addressing the federal cabinet last week, the government asked the DG of the NBS, go out there and tell the Nigerian public, you are just saying to us now that Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi and Ebonyi are recording the lowest unemployment rates in the country on account of agriculture.

“So, the point is that the data collected which has formed judgement on the data that have been passed and misleading and I think there is now a convergence. The data has been unfair to the administration, it had ignored job creation in the areas of agriculture but that is now being integrated and Nigerians will be impressed.”

However, a spokesman for the Abubakar Atiku Campaign Organisation, Mr. Phrank Shuaibu, who was on the programme, lambasted Shehu, accusing the Presidency of attempting to alter job statistics on the eve of elections.

Shuaibu said, “The National Bureau of Statics came for EFC meeting and according to the President’s spokesman, the man admitted that he miscalculated. That is an agency funded by government, not an agency sponsored by any international organisation.

“He has forgotten that this is not 1984. 2015 is not 1984. The world has gone digital but because they are operating an analogue system of government, they don’t know that even a 10-year-old can use the internet to find out statistics.

“When the NBS came out with the figures about loss of jobs and how it was affecting the economy, nobody came out to defend the government. But just as the certificate issue was managed, they have pushed the DG to the villa and obviously dictated to him what he should say.

“You cannot say that a government that is in power, the DG of NBS reeled out statistics, you did nothing to him, many months after and because elections are here, on the eve of elections, he is summoned to FEC and is asked to generate new figures. That is a fallacious tale and an affront on the sensibilities of Nigerians and they should apologise to us.”

Incidentally, the NBS has failed to release the statistics on unemployment for over a year, citing lack of funds as the reason.

However, the opposition has always insisted that the Presidency had ordered the agency not to release the figures until after elections.

How and when did they collate acclaimed created jobs....

The sacked jobless farmers in all IDP camps minus the acclaimed created jobs in rice farming equals...

Other states in Nigeria where rice farming is not en vogue do not merit job creation. Is that the case here?

It is well...even in the well!!!

Jobs/Vacancies / Urgently Help A Concerned Geologist!!! by GLYMAN: 7:02pm On Dec 10, 2018
HELLO GRADUATE & EXPERIENCED GEOLOGISTS, GEOSCIENTISTS, EARTH SCIENTISTS ET AL...

(1) Do we have any registered union, platform, group, association, club, etc that caters for the interests of aspiring professionals in this field in Naija...NB: Please I do not mean the NMGS, NAPE, etc

(2) Many Naija graduates of this esteemed disciple seem to be on "OYO"...On Your Own...mode...after school. Why is it so?

(3) Graduate of the discipline do attend certain functions...workshops, seminars, paper presentations, etc, organized/sponsored by the Oil and Gas companies but how did these meeting impact the aspirants? Are there graduates that successfully got networked into coys?

(4) There a notable M.Sc. holders of this discipline that are yet to secure employment. So many up-graded after BSc and spent so much resources acquiring relevant software trainings to no avail...Why?

(5) Can geologists establish private businesses (SMEs) considering the specialized nature of the field (not desperate software training centers we have in town)? What is needed to achieve these SME ventures?

(6) The job openings and employment opportunities for geologists and allied disciplines appears to be rare. In some cases, publicity/advert and transparency issues trail the selection process. Why?

(7) How can a viable Geology Community be birthed to cater for the interests of aspiring graduate geologists?

***Do you have useful propositions, ideas, experiences, encounters, testimonies or way-forward that will help a geologist out there, kindly share***

Career / Info-center For Geologists, Geoscientists, Earth Scientists & Allied Professions by GLYMAN: 12:01pm On Dec 10, 2018
Hello Older and Younger Granites!!!

Do you recall and relish those good old days in school...the lecturers, the lecture, the courses, the assignments especially Map reading and interpretation, the photocopy of 'materials', the hoarding of materials by some coursemates, the school library adventures, the night classes, the exams, the field trips, the seminars, the technical sessions in Oil & Gas coys, e.t.c.

Do you still remember those GEOLOGY BOOKWORMS IN YOUR CLASS/DEPARTMENT...'JACOPHITES', 'JACKOPHYTAS' 'JACKSONS', 'JACKY', etc...especially their intimidating postures when it comes to studying...particularly as exam approaches...Chai...I was one of them...Ha ha ha...My room mates used to 'fear', 'envy', 'respect' me...and by extension, All Geology students. Reason: They thought it was crazy to study "stones"..that is "Rocks" and give them names...Ha ha ha.

Do you still reflect on how you envisioned the glorious future ahead of you...

The thoughts of graduating well...say with "at least good grades' in Naija, and venturing the Oil and Gas Industry to practise what you read in school was like heaven on earth...

BUT...Here comes the Big Bang upon graduation...the dreams, aspirations, visions, hopes, foci, desires, ambitions, glory, yearnings, cravings, longings and pathways of many promising geologists and geoscientists appears to have taken so long to crystallize...

Truly, many geologists have been skewed of their once desireable glorious discipline and future for innumerable reasons...

This thread is focused ONLY on helping the 'GEOLOGY COMMUNITY AND ALLIED DISCIPLINES' to find their pathway again in this discipline..

Hence, relevant and genuine information that will help a fellow professional is highly welcome...

@ Practising Geologists: Your inputs are needed here since you already made it...You can inspire, motivate, share, help, connect, link-up and recommend somebody somehow to somewhere...

@ Undergraduate Geologists: We learnt those days in GLY 101 that, "The present is key to the past"...But in Naija today..."The past is key to the present"....So, sit tight and draw some great and useful lessons you can apply in your wonderful geology career.

@ All Geologists that still believe in themselves...SEE YOU AT THE TOP AND NOT FROM THE TOP!...SHALOM!
