kevapet: Hhmm. If only Aketi didn't abandon the new stadium and the other one in Ile-Oluji. It's even more shameful that there's no government presence in Ondo city(Ondo state second largerst city at that). Even Akure literally have nothing to show as the state capital other than population. Ondo state is too underdeveloped for my liking. Ondo state is an oil producing state for heaven sake. The only good thing about the state is just good roads. Nothing else to show for the Oil, cocoa and fish. Aketi should do more. I agree. Segun Mimiko tried modernizing the state ( I know he had issues paying salaries), Aketi did not continue from where he left off. There is no reason to justify abandoning the new stadium. |

Arnold1: Abeokuta needs a large central park with beautiful trees, green lawn, lake/pond etc. Similar to Agodi Gardens in Ibadan.
It can be built in two or three phases to spread out costs.
The govt can partner with the private sector.
People would drive from Lagos for the fresh air and beauty of nature.
It would also boost tourism ( and IGR) for Ogun State. It is long overdue. It would be a beautiful thing I swear. |

The other day, Ex President Jonathan stated that only the South west region has properly managed its diversity in Nigeria.
Question - Why all the praise for South west all of a sudden? |

Aerodrome is a very pricy neighborhood in Ibadan. I wish I could get a drone view of the area to showcase its tranquility. Aerodrome is very expensive. Be prepared to spend millions to live there. |

Afe Babalola University has a very good law school. Beautiful campus.
Even though private Universities are expensive, enrollment is pretty high Especially in the renowned ones.
There is money in Nigeria abeg. That is why some people are hell bent on keeping Nigeria one. They benefit a lot from the current set up. |

Gov Abiodun, please try and spread development across the state (not just the capital). To be successful, you need to have a well thought out road map/master plan and work with very bright minds.
Some people complain about loans, but there is nothing wrong with taking loans when it is put to good use. The thing is, loans must be properly managed so that at any given time, loan servicing is never above 15% of state revenue. This is why Obasanjo’s govt created the debt management office (DMO) when he was president.
A lot of the great projects you see in Lagos were completed using debt. Ogun can do the same.
I am rooting for you Governor and wish you the best. |

walefresh3: 52 Weeks of Building Our Future Together" is a documentation, or perhaps a compendium, of what we have been able to achieve within the first year of our Administration. Though it is not yet Uhuru, we are proud of the legacy projects that we can showcase as pointers to our determination to make Ogun State a better, mutually prosperous place for investors, foreigners, Nigerians and autochthonous citizens of the State.
Beyond physical, psychological and formal security initiatives, Ogun State under our watch is powered by the dictum and initiatives encapsulated under the acronym I-S-E-Y-A:
I -Infrastructure
S - Social Welfare and Wellbeing
E - Education
Y - Youth Development
A - Agriculture and Food Security Gov Abiodun needs to fix Ogun’s roads and boost internally generated revenue. He needs some bright minds to help in the IGR initiative. Look at the IGR in Lagos from 1999 to the present date. Why not hire the people that worked with Tinubu, Fashola as consultants? Our leaders don’t rub minds together well in the SW ( and Nigeria in general). Ogun should be benefitting tremendously from its close proximity to Lagos. |

Tonim: The Governors do not control the police, the army/military, the DSS etc. The federal government does.
Buhari knows this!
Even the regional security outfits such as Amotekun, cannot procure military grade weapons, artilery, surveillance devices like helicopters, drones etc like the police, military, dss.
Security wise, the Governors are virtually at the mercy of the federal government the way Nigeria is currently structured. Very true! |
