Very soon, Sun will report that when Obasanjo was a baby, he had no children, but today, he has even GrandChildren! Let's investigate him.hehe, dude you are crazy ![]() That's Nigerian media for you. |
The lady is from the islands (west indies). Muyiwa Obasanjo met her in the U.S. |
Here you go: Nigerian Police Force Headquarters Louis Edet House Shehu Shagari Way, Central Area, Abuja Tel Number: 09-2340422, 09-2340633 Fax: 09-2340756, 09-2340868 |
kamwali:hehe, you are a really funny lady ![]() Welcome to Nairaland ! |
You see more older people in the US. than in Naija. The laws are enforced 100 times better in the U.S. than in Naija People have more respect for their elders in Nigeria than in the U.S. A lot of America's food is full of preservatives; it often lacks that natural taste. In Naija, our food is more natural (less inorganic). |
I heared the guy's parents are lebanese. Many of these lebanese folks have made names for themselves in business. |
I think you should be able to get a course in the social sciences like sociology, political science, economics etc You should be able to study business too - banking, marketing, accounting etc Be glad you have atleast 5 papers and passed english and maths. |
Alicia Keys - Unbreakable |
Nice pictures debosky ![]() Big ups to all the lady soccer fans, y'all are the coolest. |
Good point. So far, all we do is estimate the size of the unofficial market, which really doesn't work to our advantage in calculating our GNP (and other metrics) and for tax collection purposes by the government. The bank consolidation scheme, without a doubt, is having positive multiplier effects on the nigerian economy. |
Well, when the foreign contractors are patronized, people criticize the govt for not using local contractors, but when the local ones are used, this is what happens. The contractors should be mobilized to site and asked to repair or build another bridge with no cost to the government. Period. |
Intercontinental Ranked Nigeria’s No 1 Bank Daily Independent Intercontinental Bank Plc has been rated as the second fastest growing bank in the world by The Banker Magazine, the influential and leading international business magazine, which also ranked the biggest bank in Nigeria. The bank, also ranked number five in Africa and the 355th biggest bank in the world by first tier capital emerges as the first Nigerian bank to be so rated among the world's top 500 banks. The Banker Magazine, a subsidiary of the Financial Times of London, in its 2007 edition of the Top 1000 banks in the World released last week, described Intercontinental Bank's outstanding growth as symbolic of the massive impact of the Nigeria's banking reform. The Magazine noted that: "Nigeria's Intercontinental bank reflects the huge consolidation and regulatory change that has taken place in Nigerian banking in the past two years," adding that the bank rose by a record 522 places to be ranked at 354, with capital ballooning to $1277 million at the end of February 2007." In all, eleven Nigerian banks were ranked amongst the top 1000 banks in the world, with Union Bank rated 502, followed by Zenith Bank in the 526 position and as the second and third most capitalised banks in Nigeria respectively. Other banks in hte ranking are First Bank (688), GT Bank (739), IBTC (851), Oceanic (874), UBA, (875), Fisrt Inland (894) as well as as Spring Bank and Diamond Bank in 927 and 937 respectively. Intercontinental Bank was ranked 877th last year but with its capital increasing almost fivefold to $1.3 billion from $273 million last year, it easily made it to the elite top 500 banks in the world. The Magazine noted: "Following a merger with three other banks, Intercontinental bank's capital_ increased by 4.6 times, making it easily the largest bank in the country by capital." Intercontinental Bank also recently declared the highest ever profit before tax (N22.6 billion) by any quoted company in the history of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The bank surpassed all its projections for its financial year ending February 2007. It's profit before tax grew by 121%, profit after tax by 105%, Gross revenue by 113% while total assets climbed by 101%. Analysts have described the financial performance of Intercontinental Bank as meteoric, noting that the bank is redefining the scope of competition in the country's banking landscape with many Nigerian Banks scurrying to the capital market and seeking international partnerships to accelerate their growth strategies. Indeed, Good things are happening in Nigeria. |
babasin:How could it be the case ? Abacha had Ken Saro Wiwa, a non-violent activist, killed because he was considered enemy of state. Do you think these militants would dare rear their ugly heads during Abacha's regime ? In 1998, was the Niger Delta in a better shape than it is now ? Were the Niger Deltans given a share of their oil wealth in 1998 ? So, according to you, because there weren't any kidnappings in 1998, this meant the government at the time was catering to the needs of the Niger Deltans. It was when Obj assumed power that he started neglecting them and this is why the kidnappings were more pronounced during his term in office. Is this really your line of thinking ? babasin:Obj did not "make anything so". The problem has been lingering for years prior to him taking over. The militants couldn't start their operations sooner because a military government would have finished them off. Abacha killed Ken Saro Wiwa despite appeals from leaders world wide for him to spear his life, so I have no doubt that he would've just sent in the troops to completely annihilate the militants. Anyone who single-handedly holds obj accountable for the neglect of the Niger Deltans [this is the root cause of the kidnappings, remember !] since oil and gas has been extracted from their land, is simply being narrow minded. It's just that simple. |
What is the guarantee that once given this money, the militants wouldn't continue with their practice ? Is there any effort put in place to ensure that they are completely disarmed ? |
Well said McKren & Mamajama |
N1 billion ~ Over $7 million. I think Yerima should be worth more than this. The real question is, what was his net worth in 1999 before he became governor ? |
desgiezd:I hate to sound pessimistic, but NO is the answer to your question. |
Why can't Obasanjo just leave the public scene and let the country move forward ? You ruled for 8 years and you are clocking 70, my goodness, isn't it time to rest ? Which ex-president elsewhere in the world leaves office to become the chairman, board of trustees of his party ? He needs to stop meddling and retire in peace before he gets shot. |
babasin:Babasin, it seems like you are condoning the kidnappers' action. Wasn't the problem there before obj/yar'adua ? What is taking place in the Niger Delta is as a result of the neglect of the place over the years. You also have these sectarian hoodlums that are taking advantage of the situation by kidnapping people at gun point. Blame all the rulers of Nigeria that have neglected the Niger Delta, not just obj/yar'adua. |
Tonim:Serial Killer ? A JAGUNLABI is worse than a serial killer. When they harm you, it is done without a trace. No law enforcement official can hold them accountable for their crime. Tonim:When you write JAGUNLABI, it must be in caps and bolded. <<<edited>> @tonim, JAGUNLABI just means a troublesome person in yoruba. there's no biggie to it. ![]() |
omogenaija:that is a very intelligent question. You see, the issue is not being scared to toast babes, the issue is toasting babes that already belong to a JAGUNLABI. That is what landed me in trouble and I had to run comot from Nigeria. Unless I am totally convinced that a lady doesn't have aJAGUNLABI in her life, she is completely off limits to me. |
omogenaija:Come see alakoba o Miss omoge, I want to live long enough to see my grand children. As tempting as it sounds, I am going to pass on this one. Tonim:how do you know he is not a JAGUNLABI ? I hope you are not trying to set me up. PLease don't be an alakoba like Miss Omogenaija. |
omogenaija:not scared ke ? It was a JAGUNLABI that drove me away from Nigeria. I have not set foot in my hometown for years because of a JAGUNLABI. Don't get me wrong, I am not a wimp or anything, but I now what I went through before I finally decided to run away from this man. I pray that you never witness the wrath of a JAGUNLABI |
Tonim:What is a JAGUNLABI ke ? In yoruba, a JAGUNLABI is also known as an OKUNRIN META ie the equivalent of three men into one. This is not the kind of man you want to mess with. ![]() If you ever witness a JAGUNLABI galloping pounded yam with okro soup, you'll know first hand that ALL MEN ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL ![]() |
omogenaija:but she said she is taken, abi you want me to force her into adultery ? may be her man is a big JAGUNLABI now, who knows ![]() |
my sister, na waa for you ooh. I am not trying to toast the girl ooh I am just socializing.Tonim:ookay ooh madam. ![]() |
I agree with omogenaija, i respect you (tonim) for apologizing ![]() Tonim:Lord have mercy !! You want to start another fight ? Don't go around creating enemies for yourself tonim. haba ![]() By the way, tonim, which part of nigeria are you from ? Is tonim your real name ? |
Jackal:hehe, I pray that God will turn this country around. |

Na so e pain you reach ?
