Notwithstanding, the recruiter should have been patient enough to conclude the chat. The applicant though harsh was right to think it's a scammer cause it's getting too much.

The recruiter should have used a different opening line... My name is xyz and a recruiter calling on behalf of Bank so so... Am I on with candidate xyc?

The recruiter actually ended the call because he expected an apology from the candidate.

I recently submitted some resumes for an opening in a bank. I was asked for referrals by one of the recruiters, so i source for candidates from LinkedIn and other sources. The recruiter later shared with me his experience with one of the candidate, below is how the conversation went:

Caller (recruiter) : Hello, good day , I am calling from xyz bank, im I onto Mr X?

Mr X (candidate): You want to ask for my BVN abi?, SCAMMERS

Caller (recruiter): We are actually calling for a chat after reviewing your cv

Mr X (candidate): Oh, i actually thought is all this scammers

Caller (recruiter)): ended the call

I hope you can pick some lesson(s) from the conversation, though there are scammers out there, but we should still be careful.

Only tier 1 schools from Nigeria are classified as equivalent to Australia bachelor's and we have only 3 of such schools ; UNILAG, Uni of Ibadan , FUTA . If you didn't study in the above schools, your course should be a 5year course to qualify.

My advise would have been for your wife to look for [b]any other trade course closely related to statistician [/b]and assess, but i cannot advise on any now as all state sponsorship are closed. The occupation to be assessed must be one that at least one state is sponsoring.

With a state uni, your wife can not assess as a Statistician which is a level 1 occupation.

You also do not have the required educational qualifications to assess as a DB Admin. I am not sure if ACS or TRA will consider an MBA even though it's Data mining option; it's still not a Computer science degree

Please can you clarify on that, are State tertiary institutions not approved? School is Kogi State Uni.

Is there list of approved institutions?

While we wait for the ogas, statistician is a professional skill (level 1) I and requires a bachelor's. Kindly edit/ update your info to include the school the stats BSc was gotten and how many years each. Also list your professional certifications..

Myself
BSc Mathematical Sciences (option in Statistics) 4 years course in a State University (Nigeria), MBA with option in Data Mining (1 year) and some professional certifications (Oracle certifications)
Exp: 10 years exp as Database Admin
Age: 35
i have worked in 4 companies (i dont have most of my past payslips, i have closed one of the past salary account)
I can only account for like 4-5 years (payslips)

I want my Wife to stand as the principal to apply as Statistician

Please i need a guide and help on how to start, where to start from. sequence of things to do.

I am surprised and amazed about the the quality of media we have in this country,
1. Vanguard said the man demanded for N5million which is not true
2. Nation reported that the man was a thief and ran to climb the pole while being chased, which is far from the truth.

Here is my take,
As a media house while ken Egbas was giving us update on this issue on twitter yesterday, what would it have caused these media houses to drive down to the location in Lekki and get an eye witness account rather than sitting down in their offices and dishing out lies to Nigerians, this speak a lot about our media houses. Honestly, i am disappointed in them.

its not easy getting a job with accommodation, your focus should be getting a job first then later you talk about accommodation, anyway this is 9ja, when the job, anyhow you will be able to hustle to get accommodation no matter what. Just get the job first, that is my advise.
