Heavenly Father, pursue President Buhari with your Holy Spirit every day that he is in office to secure his undistracted attention. In every circumstance and at every moment, be his source. During his precious moments of solitude, put in his heart a yearning to draw close to you and worship you. As the President Nigeria, he is a leader among leaders in Africa, Keep him close to your side so that he might lead with the humility of one whose eyes are focused on the Most High God. (1 Timothy 2:1-8; Luke 4:4, 8-12) In Jesus’ name, we take authority over spiritual strongholds that are operating in Abuja and the political arena. As Nigerians we confess with Ezra over the sinful condition of our nation: “O my God, I am too ashamed and disgraced to lift up my face to you, my God, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens.” And together we invite your powerful Presence to inhabit our land, starting with our seat of government. We cover President Buhari head with the power of the cross so that he will be able to resist evil influences and temptations. (Matthew 17:21; Ezra 9:6-15; 1 Corinthians 1:18) 8 Likes |

HOW WE GOT HERE He ruled from 1984-1985. He banned use and possession of forex and incarcerated many whose guts and faces he disliked, some for centuries. By the end of 1984, Nigeria went into recession and in 1985, IBB kicked him out. From 1985-2015, he didn't improve himself academically or in any way. He didn't have any trust fund or any other program to assist the less privileged. He had the exact same number of cows for almost 20 years, nobody in the history could be said to have benefited from him in any way while out of government. In short, the way he was in 1985 was exactly the way he was in 2015. Progress made, zero. He was rehabilitated by Sanni Abacha who made him PTF Chairman. Democracy returned back to Nigeria in 1999. He started contesting to be President in 2002. For 13 years, you would expect him to already have an idea of how to move the nation forward. He failed severally till a man of peace, GEJ, conducted elections, the kind we could never have had under OBJ and we probably would never have again. He campaigned under the 'Change' mantra and fooled many of my brothers from the South West.To the wonderfully intelligent Yoruba people, they yearned for proper change, one they thought would usher in new ways of doing things. And Buhari became President. What they didn't know was that their Northern partners only yearned for a change from Southern, Christian President to a Northern, Islamic one. My supposedly smart Yoruba brothers were fooled by their supposedly, less-smart Northern partners. And then, the Chief Architect of Change, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is now left with 'RED EYES'. Architect of Change now dumped by Chief Beneficiary of Change. We warned him, we warned them. They thought we were being sentimental and tribalistic. After campaigning for 13 years and waiting an extra six months to name angelic ministers, what did we eventually get? A dinosaur for Agriculture Minister, a lawyer in Housing, Works and Power Ministry in a nation where you have some of the best engineering brains in the world, the least intelligent appointee ever in Nigerian FG in the Sports Ministry, an lying, loud-mouthed English graduate in Transport Ministry and many more amoebic pegs in indeterminate holes. And like it was 32 years ago, forex was banned and made impossible to access. And then for the second time, RECESSION happens. And after trying all archaic methods, padding budget, stealing budget, re-padding budgets and releasing N3.6 trillion between March and November 2016 (only God knows where the money entered), recession bites harder. To curb rising inflation and raise funds, - they now clamp down on bureau de change operators to control exchange rate. - next they want to start arresting people and their families and organizations who have dollars and are not spending. - and they want to start taxing any gsm call that exceeds 3 minutes. Maybe next, they will start arresting all those who have more than N20,000 (twenty thousand naira) at home or in banks and not spending them. We call these economic policies 'buharimonics' God help us. - Ben Chux |

In this light, we can all agree that we need extraordinary leaders to solve our problems. This Present team do not have that capability. 2019 is so on my mind. To vote properly as citizens, we need to hear people with extraordinary plans that are workable. We need to ask our leaders or leaders to be how they are going to solve our issues from Power to corruption to bad roads etc. We do not want to hear the cliche that I will stop corruption. The deal here is how will you stop corruption, how will you diversify our economy. What are the details? Brazil with almost the same population as Nigeria has a budget of 980 billion Dollars, guess what's Nigerian budget, more than 10 times less. Which leader will effectively harness our potential? Only people with capacity can. Even if we stop the looting of the money we currently have, we would still be in a mess. The big problem is 70 percent of the people that will vote do not understand this problems. Bag of rice and clean stove is enough to sway their votes. Another 15 percent understand, but are to blinded by emotions. Tribal and/or religious sentiments. The remaining 15 percent don't have a better option, would not be bothered and not vote. So who will move us forward? Again, it only has to be an extraordinary leader devoid of tribal sentiment, that will first of all educate the 70% such that they can understand current reality, eliminate all forms of -isms tribal, racial, sexism, and so on. We have to succeed. We alone have to bring ourselves up. The West and the East naturally do not want us to succeed. They will naturally want to keep us perpetually poor , so we continue to be at their mercy. Japan broke loose along time ago. China just broke loose, Brazil is breaking loose. What are we waiting for? Old and senile leaders? Vision less leaders. My dear youth our issues are systematic. lets us debate systematic solutions to our problem. Let's us look for leaders that can deliver. Our destiny is in our hands Even though I really don't like the PDP, for the first time, I think PDP's response looked so mature and credible lalasticlala You should put this on FP 7 Likes |

Family / How You And Your Household Can Survive The Recession by gohome: 12:37pm On Sep 01, 2016 |
Here are some things to cut down on in order to make it out of this recession financially sane. Generator usage It’s bad enough the economy is crumbling faster than a cookie but how many Nigerians can recall a lenghty spell of uninterrupted power supply. Our standby household generators have for years, been doing what the government cannot do for us. Now that the situation is getting dire, generator usage should be restricted to specific hours and to take care of necessities. Comfort can wait till recession is over and we are out of troubled waters. Eating out Anyone who actually cooks will know that restaurants serve overpriced, often unsatisfying food. So instead of taking your hard earned money to pay for ‘fancy’ food, go to the market, buy raw food and head to the kitchen. You’ll save so much money. Driving walkable distances The cost of fuel is higher than it has ever been in Nigeria’s history, so why not kill two birds with one stone while going for short errands. Take a walk or go for a run while running your errand. Your body and pockets will thank you. Bulk buying of groceries Constant grocery shopping can be such a chore so we tend to buy in bulk. However, a disadvantage of bulk buying is that some goods may expire or spoil before you get around to using them, hence cut your grocery shopping list down to necessities. Get what you need and not what you think you will need. New clothes and shoes Your old clothes are perfectly fine! Oh you think people have noticed you’ve had that shirt for a while? Frankly, it’s nobody’s business. As long as your clothes are not obviously tattered, there is no use going cloth shopping every week to impress people and depress your bank account. Hanging out We all love spending quality time with friends and family but instead of going someplace where you’ll spend more than you budgeted for (more often than not), invite them to your house and plan activities everyone can participate in. You’ll create a stronger bond and more lasting activities while saving money. Vacations abroad Also known as “the king of excesses”, vacationing abroad is officially a luxury at this point in time. Why go and spend your hard earned ‘naira’ in a foreign country contributing to the growth of their economy while leaving yours in the backseat. Stay at home! DSTV subscription You don’t need to pay for all the channels. It’s not a competition. You hardly ever watch more than 15 of the channels on the premium package, so why the bother? The smallest bouquet has news channels for the grown-ups and cartoons for the kids. Water as opposed to juice and sodas Some people think there is an award for living lavish. News flash: there isn’t. Most of these processed drinks you desire to gulp down your throat with every meal are not even good for your health and they definitely cost more than water. Drink water, you’ll live longer. Unnecessary phone calls Restrict your airtime to calls with purpose (work, business). There’s no need to ask your friend what he/she is eating or staying on a call for an hour discussing what nail polish color to wear to an event. https://lifestyle.thecable.ng/10-ways-survive-nigerias-worst-recession-29-years/ 3 Likes |

Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun has assured Nigerians in a series of tweet to boost morale The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, on Wednesday admitted that Nigeria was in its worst possible time with the Gross Domestic Product figures for the 2016 second quarter released by the National Bureau of Statistics showing the nation’s economy now in recession. The nation’s external reserves fell by 2.86 per cent to $25.45bn on August 29, 2016, the latest report from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed on Wednesday. The foreign exchange reserves stood at $26.2bn at the end of July. The minister said, “I think that we have a long way to go. We’re not confused and we’re not deceiving ourselves that everything is rosy. It’s not. “It’s a difficult time for Nigeria but I think Nigeria is in the right hands and if we can stick with our strategy… We still have some adjustments to make. I think we need to make some adjustments in monetary policy.”
