21 shots recorded.
11 shots on target.
4 big chances created.
3 big chances missed.

Creating chances was not our problem. We didnt stuggle in the chance creation dept at all.

Iwobi alone created 6 including a big chance.
Lookman created 2. Even Chuks created 2 including a big chance.

So chances boku today. The problem was finishing and Osimhen was the main culprit. 7 shots from him alone. Hopefully he enters "the zone" vs Tunisia come saturday.
The Tunisians wear red, so like a bull Osimhen should "charge" effectively. wink
Chuks and Iwobi are in form I hope our coach is aware. My fear is when we meet more physical opponents make dem no go switch off but both players were massive today and should have been on the scoresheet.

Am glad Lookman is back and Ejuke is still there at least we should cook more in the games ahead barring injury

Actually, I liked that sub. The Tanzanians were dominating in the middle and he needed more numbers in the middle. With Dele Bashiru instructed to invert when we were off possession and spread out when in position. The timing was also good because we were in lead and needed control of the middle to reduce the aggressive attack of the Tanzanians.
But did it work? I doubt as the Tanzanians were all over us and would have equalised if they were more clinical

Ah that Alex chance was lovely real pity he didn't score.

Ndidi needs help in the middle of the park. He just hasn't got the legs anymore.

Don't know why Chukwueze was moaning when he came off wasn't like he lit up the game with some special performance.
The coach made changes too early if na me be chuks too I go vex haba just 50 mins you Dey sub me I kill person? 😂

Nididi and Simon are Chelle boys they must play no matter what.

Actually this formation suit us against team like this. However, I believe Chelle will change it when we play a formidable opponent.
But Chelle needs a regular starting 11, taking Adams off early in the second half except he was injured impacted the game somehow

Oliseh gave some few good analysis but felt as if he was looking for something to use to criticize Chelle. Like the sub bringing in Simon Moses and Dele Bashiru was sound but Oliseh critiqued it. But that was fine changes and match reading.
What do you expect? hardly will any Nigerian coach or ex player support Chelle. He needs to fail for them to be validated. Chelle appointment was a dagger in the heart for Nigerian coaches

Goke7, I told you Lookman will cook. He is at it again at another Afcon.
That was a beauty of a goal I was proud as a Nigerian. Just the way the Egyptians main players stepped up last night Lookman showed winning APOTY was no fluke that was class

Iwobi should have scored another beautiful goal. Three points in the bag is a good start. Hoping to see more cooking in the next game

I am sure they are very unhappy with the outcome..
Yeah the eagles gave them confidence with our carelessness in defence I hope this is sorted out but Chelle has shown he’s more of an attacking coach and that’s where the worry is

The problem is Osimhen may not score, but remove him and the team becomes useless
Our middle is the problem we need someone in there to read the game better

I agree with bringing on another midfield but I'd have preferred to see Onyedika for Adams or Chuks. Simon is an interesting one.

This defense is far too lax...
The timing is the issue.

Thank you for the shout out. Using style to watch. 😃

We are doing okay. Especially with the way our defense keep possession. However, I feel our play is direct when moving from the defense to attack. Not much work is going on in the middle.

If Chelle can get the midfield to transition the possessive play of the defense to the Middle and keep it longer, we can cause problems.
The middle is still our weakness link we just have to manage with what we have
