CPriest: Although you should have responded, but it is nice you took sometime. Suspense is part of this game. However to the pricing thing, it all depends on you. Since we don't know the domain name - is it .com? Is it a high-demand keyword? etc so, I can't advise so much, but
a. You can ask the person to make an offer b. Find out how much such domains sold for c. Find out how much such domains are listed for in marketplaces d. Be nice and just sell at 50x or 100x your initial cost (if you bought at $2, sell at $200). But watch, don't let it be too ridiculous.
Best Wishes* Its a .com Keyword too, with decent exact match monthly searches but low ad competition & low CPC. Similar sold fees years ago for about 1000$ I guess I'll just start off at same amount and leave room for negotiations! Thanks for the input... |

Guys... How do you go about the pricing thing Someone made an Enquiry for 1 of my domains 5days ago and I still don't know what to reply. This is my supposed 1st sale. Estibot valuation: 120$ Siteprice.org valuation: 2443$ I don't want to sell for too little and I don't want to also scare away the buyer. @ 2sex iykepromotions cpriest and all gurus in the house. |

Education › Re: Top 23 Most Expensive Secondary Schools In Nigeria With Mind Blowing Fees! by GoldStandard: 12:35pm On Dec 26, 2015 |
nextstep: It's these secondary school students that go on to University and rub shoulders with the children of elites in the UK and US. When these folks graduate and go to work, start business, or explore opportunities, it's these networks that they tap. It is a sad fact that poor people in UK, US, or Nigeria don't have the connections to do the things that employ thousands of people. If you wanted to tap a network of investors for equity or loan, guess which Rolodex you're going to use?
Bill Gates is ONE kid that dropped out of college. There are millions of wealthy American elites/business leaders who did not drop out. The focus on Bill Gates is like saying "since one person won the lottery, you too don't have to study hard, or work or start a business. Just relax, and you too can win the lottery". Obviously not very useful advice, so why keep trotting it out?
Bill was able to assemble investment money, business contacts, legal advice, technical assistance, sales channels etc from people who didn't drop out. Even Bill went to expensive/privileged primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions.
If not for the fact that he had access to a computer in primary school (you had to be extremely privileged to see and use a computer in early 1970s), his fortunes might have been quite different. A bottle of your favorite drink, for all you have said! You've said it all! Someone needs to educate NL'ders about Networking and the importance of building a proven social circle as you grow up. They keep mentioning otedola, adenuga and the rest. For every destined Adenuga, there are thousands of other unattained potentials wasting around from public sec schools. Nl'anders really need a change in mentality... Not everyone who sends their kids to this schools are thieving politicians. There are lots of Nigerians earning legit money from their legitimate endeavors. Thanks bro.... Cheers |

CPriest: You won't believe I don't do all those traffic, PR, ... stuff. The main thing I am concerned about is ensuring it is a sweet domain name, and that it has not been used in spamming etc. Maybe it is because we deal with strictly business names. Also I have a mind tuned to and use a set of rules to choose names.
That acnadian name to me is a bad name. I added it to illustrate a point.
I don't understand your point at Namecheap. I hope you aren't referring to their market. I only said to use namecheap to register .com domains at normal prices and not buying premium names there.
Why do you want to backorder? If it is not a domain name that will end up as thousands of dollars worth, I don't think backordering is a great idea. There are so many good names that you can get through other means. Wow... Interesting!!! Most domainers place emphasis on those criterion like their domaining life depended on it. What SET OF RULES do you use in choosing this business like domains, mind mentioning a few I meant i couldn't find business-like domains on namecheap! |
Webmasters › Re: Domain Name Business; The Easiest & The Most Profitable Online Venture by GoldStandard: 9:09am On Dec 09, 2015 |
CPriest:
I am confident when the problem is getting great domain names for your business/investing, when it comes to sales, I am not 'confident'. All I do is list the names on the various aftermarket platforms. But if you are a more aggressive domainer who pushes names on various forums and through emails then you can be sure you will do very well if you have the skill to choose the right names. "Hand regged" isn't the problem, bad names are. Let me give you examples of these names. Tell me which are likely to do well or not. DailyTradeSignals.com? StartFlirting.com? SecretAlarm.com? and Acnadiandrugs.com? All these names are dropped names. Each of these names except one is worth at least $399. And each is sold for about $10. I will advise you take time to develop your own approach to choosing names and even the type of names you will be stocking. On the $5 reg, Namecheap still sold at $5 yesterday but the sale is off now. Godaddy has coupons for .99, 2.99, and $5. You can only use these coupons once. Best Wishes* Secret alarm, start flirting look good. For acnadian drugs I'd look it up on Google first. So for this domains, would you just go & reg them without checking Traffic, Pager rank, No of Backlinks, Alexa rank, Global monthly searches using Google keywords tool etc and other important info about the domain? I've looked up Namecheap, their domains don't meet my search criteria. next step for me now is to probably start backordering through drop catch or pheenix.. Looking forward to your reply, Cheers! |

@Cpriest
You sound so confident.
OK, I have 25$ to spare again, would appreciate if you gave me registrars that reg for 5$...
Also, I'm a newbie. Just started domaining late last month & am yet to develop a well defined strategy. Only stuff I do now is pick expiring domains on expireddomains.net and re-register but its damn expensive! Am only doing that cos I read hand regged don't do so well. |

Chibenze: . Bro. I just bought a domain via expired auction. I got charged 10 dollar for the domain & 15 more for so called .COM DOMAIN RENEWAL making everything 25 freaking dollars for just 1 domain. Am I on the right track? Is this what you get charged too, cos when I reg domains via closeout or deleted.com its normal 8 or 9$. |

Chibenze: this question is tough, well this is my own story.
When i start domain i have nothing (low cash), so i hand reg domain to sell, with time i started buying from other domainers nd sell to make $2- $15, gradually i started buying from expired auction. Currently 90% of my domain i bought via expired auction.
So if you have d cash (deep pocket), start from expired auction.
Note: just an advice (i maybe wrong because am still a newbie) Hey Bro.. I don't get what you mean by expired auction. Is it on expired domains.net? |
