Keep Praying!-Tuesday, September 8th .

Pastor Chris

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1).

Someone once lamented, "As much as I pray for my country, it appears that the wickedness, especially from the political leaders, keeps increasing. Can God still intervene? Is there need for me to keep praying?"

The Word of God admonishes us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). In Luke 18:1-8, the Lord Jesus emphasized the importance of persistence in prayer. This is because being the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, you can change anything through prayer. The divine power necessary to cause that change is in you; it was deposited in you the moment you received the Holy Spirit into your life (Acts 1:8 ).

Moreover, James 5:16 (AMP) says, "...The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]." Continue to pray for your country. The Lord is the God of all flesh, and there's nothing too difficult for Him to do (Jeremiah 32:27). He's the God of possibilities, and He's given you the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus and effect the changes you desire. Therefore, in praying for your country and other nations of the world, let these thoughts be in your mind.

The God to whom we pray, reigns and rules in the affairs of men: "...to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men" (Daniel 4:17). Consider what He did to King Nebuchadnezzar, who ruled his kingdom with absolute power. The Lord deposed him from his glory, and drove him out from among men, to dwell in the wilderness. God also restored him to office after he repented.

God has power over every nation and sets in authority anyone that He chooses (Romans 13:1). When He tells you to pray for your country, it's because He's given you the authority to decree a thing and have it established (Job 22:28). Intercede for as long as it takes for peace, continued progress, and stability in your country. Pray as though it depended on you alone to effect changes in your nation, and the truth is, it does; because you're the salt of the earth.

Prayer...
Dear Father, I thank you for teaching me to pray without ceasing for my country. I thank you for your divine power and wisdom that's released, even now, upon the leaders and political office holders for them to do your will, and for righteousness to be established in the land and in the hearts of men, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Further Study:
1 Timothy 2:1-3
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

If I supply the Scriptures of Christ will that suffice since it's not coming from Chris? huh

If the Words of Christ means anything to you then consider these eternal Words of His when He was responding to a Samaritan woman who believed in another religion:

"You worship you know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews" (John 4:22).

I'm sure if you were there at the time Jesus uttered this statement you would have said that Jesus is intolerant of other people's religion (Samaritans).

Our Lord Jesus seemed to be harsh when addressing this Gentile woman who came seeking help for her daughter. What would have been your thoughts at this time knowing that these kind of words from the mouth of Christ are strange to you?

"I am not sent but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Matthew 15:24).

What Jesus said to this Caananite woman was even harsher when He compared her to dogs:

"It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs" (Matthew 15:26).

Here again you would have accused Jesus of intolerance, bigotry and racism and that He was not sensitive to the Gentile woman's feelings.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).

When Jesus asserted that He is the Way to God, the Truth of God and the Life in God your likes will accuse Him of being intolerant of other ways and this is the main reason why true Christians are being persecuted for being 'unloving' and 'unsympathetic' to people's feelings when they say Jesus is the only way. Jesus says: 'No one comes to the Father but through Me'. And I reiterate the same and say every other proposal is one of darkness. You can call me an intolerant hater if you like they did the same to Christ. smiley

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge... (Hosea 4:6)

Sad as this may sound, it's true nonetheless! God's people suffer in life, not because they don't pray enough or love God enough, but because they lack accurate and adequate knowledge of the Word. Reiterating this, the Lord Jesus said in Matthew 22:29, "...Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures...."

When people lack accurate and relevant spiritual information from God's Word, they experience defeat and failure. This isn't because they're "weak" Christians or because God couldn't deliver them; it's just the plain and inevitable result of ignorance.

Psalm 82:5-7 is so touching; it describes the debacle and despondency of the one who's ignorant of his heritage and identity in Christ. It says, "They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." Pathetic!

Now you can better understand why in the lives of some people, things aren't just happening the way they should; they're putting in all the efforts they could, yet nothing productive is coming out. What's the problem? Ignorance: they know not, neither do they understand; they walk on in darkness, destroyed by sickness and plummeted by the harsh elements of this world. Is this the lot for the Christian? Emphatically no! The Bible declares, "...but through knowledge shall the just be delivered" (Proverbs 11:9).

If you have knowledge, there'll be a difference in your life. The knowledge of God's Word will build you up, and deliver your God-given inheritance into your hands (Acts 20:32).

If you've been wondering why your experiences haven't been as victorious as the Word describes, you need to spend more time studying and meditating on the Word. Build your faith with the Word of God, for faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17).

As the Word comes to you, don't just agree by way of mental assent, respond by confessing the same things. Soon enough, you'll change the situation.

I am not trying to paint the Arab world in bad light, but the fact remains that they are not in solidarity.

[s]Countries with means such as UAE,Saudi Arabia etc. do not grant visas to Syrians because of the fear of radicalization, hence you never hear of terrorist cells there.[/s] They would rather have the virus without than within. The only Arab countries that grant free access are also war ravaged e.g Yemen,Libya etc

Some migrant Syrians have blasted their fellow Arabs who have made it hard for them to gain access to their countries. The so called 'infidels' are doing the humanitarian work which their muslim neighbors are not wont to do.You only need to look at the outpouring of praise from the Syrians on Merkel to know that they are truly grateful. The Germans have done a huge lot.

Some other Europeans e.g UK prefer to address the root cause of the issue i.e the war in Syria by sending monetary support to Syria.Their reluctance may stem from their history with extremism e.g 7/7 underground bombings

More,later...
In fact Ola... Come with 80leaves long note book... You've got alot of tutorials here.

Thanks bro, for enlightening Ola,but Officially, Syrians can apply for a tourist visa or work permit in order to enter a Gulf state.

However, the process is costly, and there is a widespread perception that many Gulf states have unwritten restrictions in place that make it hard for Syrians to be granted a visa in practice. (hundreds of thousands cannot afford this, nor have time for the tedious processes, hence, they look to Europe... Where democracy to an extent, binds them to help)

This comes as part of wider obstacles facing Syrians, who are required to obtain rarely granted visas to enter almost all Arab countries.

Without a visa, Syrians are not currently allowed to enter Arab countries except for Algeria, Mauritania, Sudan and Yemen.

Yemen is in shreds... Syria is better that Sudan et al. This is outside considering the proximity sef.

It's hard to discuss issues like this without being sentimental but I'll try.

The migration issue has polarized Europe.Germany is prepared to welcome as much as 800k Syrians.Poland,Hungary,Belgium & a few others consider it a risk due to the fear of radicalisation.

Belgium is in fact a small country as well as much of Western Europe. It is about the size of Borno state.A mass influx of people is bound to have a big effect.Germany are a European superpower with economic means to support them.Besides they feel that as Big Brother of Europe, they hold a moral obligation.More importantly though less apparent, they are trying to pay penance for the evils of 1945 which incidentally marks 70 years since WW2.

As to why other Arab nations have not accomodated the Syrians,I shall try to explain in my next post.
