Express Joy - Thursday, August 18th . Pastor Chris Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms (James 5:13). Imagine that someone got the news that a kind person left him an estate worth a hundred million dollars; how do you think he’d receive the news? I’m most certain he won’t receive it with a listless “Thank you.” He’ll express much joy for what he received. Likewise, when you pray about a situation, maybe a health condition, and you believe God answered you, act like it. Express joy! One day many years ago, I was leading the church service and had invited everyone to come forward for prayer. They all came around the altar and prayed. After the prayer, they returned to their seats as though they had just been whipped, and the Lord said to me, “They didn’t receive answers to their prayer.” He didn’t say, “I didn’t answer them,” because He always answers when we pray. But they didn’t receive because they didn’t act like people who had received answers to what they prayed about. There have been people who received healing or other miracles in a meeting, and just as they turned to leave the venue, everything returned to what it was before. They lost the healing. Their healing was a sign; God had given them attention, and got their attention, but expected them to further act their faith. He wanted them to rejoice, testify, and be glad about what already happened, and thus keep their miracle, but they didn’t. Many people don’t know that their expressions are a message. Faith is expressed in words and in actions. If your words and actions don’t demonstrate your faith, then there’s no faith. Every time people received something from the Lord in the Bible, they demonstrated it in their joy, and their blessing was sustained. Some actually received more as a result of their joyful testimonies and gratitude; an example is the leper in Luke 17:11-19. The Bible says faith without works—corresponding action—is dead. If you accept what God has said about you, you’ve got to act like it. Prayer... I thank you Precious Father, for making my life a bundle of joy and happiness, and a testimony of your goodness. I go forth in your glory today, in righteousness, peace, and joyin the Holy Ghost, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. nwamehn:Exactly But there ar two things u didn't treat in ur post, I apologise if I'm asking too much:I did treat this... Read Galatians 3 again 19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. In plain English The purpose of the law was to keep a sinful people in the way of salvation until Christ came, inheriting the promises and distributing them to us. Obviously this law was not a firsthand encounter with God. It was arranged by angelic messengers through a middleman, Moses. Simply put... The covenant was made by God with Abraham, to be fulfilled in his seed, Jesus! But there was a temporary law to keep folks in line till Jesus came. The covenant Jesus brought was already instituted in Abraham, thus abolishing that of Moses, which was a part time covenant till Jesus came. If we said Jesus had a covenant with God, it'd mean God had a covenant with His Word (makes any sense?), and this would obviously have been done in heaven, which would mean Jesus' coming was a scam. For if we assume it was made on earth, where and when did it happen? 2. Exodus 24:7-8 says that God established a covenant with the people of Israel, does it mean that Exodus 24:7-8 isn't entirely correct for saying that "GOD HAD A COVENANT WITH THE ISRAELITES"?Galatians 3 verse 19... That was the law to keep folks in line till Jesus came. Perhaps the confusion I'm having now might just be due to the meaning of the word covenant and it's usage in the Bible. No confusion here... You are probably looking for the reason why anyone could say Jesus hadn't a covenant with God, and probably also, why would any one say Christians or indeed anybody doesn't have any covenant with God... But rather, Christians are a product of God's covenant with Abraham... It ain't confusing at all ![]() |
Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Wednesday, 17th August 2016 Pastor Chris Oyakhilome BE “ON FIRE” ALWAYS (Remain Fervent For The Lord) TO THE BIBLE: 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” LET’S TALK Some folks are only fervent in serving the Lord when everything is cool and calm. At such times, they’re full of testimonies of God’s goodness, loving the Lord and demonstrating His love to their world. But once trouble strikes, they get discouraged and wane in their commitment to the Lord. Don’t be that way; be on fire for the Lord all the time. Don’t be that person who only wants to “use” God to get something he wants or get out of trouble, and promptly forget about Him once the solution comes. Be instant in season and out of season. No matter what happens in your life, never allow anything distract you or dampen your zeal and commitment to the Master. If you allow anything take your attention away from serving God, then it means you’re not steadfast; you’ve become moveable, but the scripture above says, “…Be steadfast, immovable....” As you remain steadfast in serving the Lord, the enemy will throw darts at you; refuse to be moved. The Bible says, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small” (Proverbs 24:10). When everything is going smoothly, be steadfast; and when it’s a period of adversity, don’t change from being who you are, because no matter what happens, you’ve been destined to win. GO DEEPER Colossians 3:23-24 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. Romans 12:11-12 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; PRAY Dear Lord, I serve you in truth with all my heart, for you’ve been great in my life! I remain steadfast and unmovable. I’m fervent in spirit, serving you with joy, and bringing glory to your precious Name. Thank you for making me eternally triumphant, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Trust…Believe…And Act On The Word - Wednesday, August 17th . Pastor Chris So, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts… (Hebrews 3:7-8 NIV) When God’s Word comes to you, the first and important thing to do is to accept it. This may sound too simple for some people, but the things about God are so simple; He’s never complicated. If He were to come to us in His complexity, no one will even be saved. He’d remain a mystery. So, accept Him in His simplicity, and accept all that He’s done for you. That’s what it takes. He’s called you to fellowship; accept it. He’s given you eternal life; accept it. He’s made you righteous, strong, vibrant, healthy, prosperous and influential; accept it! If you don’t accept what He’s done for you, given you, and made you—and live accordingly—you’ll be a victim in life. There’re people who say, “If God is real, let Him do something about my situation.” He already did; so stop waiting. Find out what the Word says about that situation; accept it, and live accordingly. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” The Gospel of Christ is a message that works only for the one who believes. If you don’t believe it, it won’t work, even though it’s the power of God. Believe and accept that God has blessed you. He’s not planning to do it, He’s done it already: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3). Even now, if there’s a situation in your life that you want changed, you can receive a miracle by saying “Yes” to the Word! Quit thinking, “Is there hope for me?” Yes. Christ is your hope. His Word is the answer. There have been many like you who were in similar situations and had a transformation. If the Word could produce results for them, it’ll do the same for you. Trust the Word. Believe the Word. Act on the Word. Confession... I delight in the Word of God, for it’s perfect; enriching and beautifying my life. The glorious life is mine as I acknowledge and receive every good thing that I have in Christ Jesus, walking in the light and reality of who I am in Christ. Righteousness, joy, peace, prosperity, health and strength are mine, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. James 1:22-25 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. MuttleyLaff:I've sorely tried to avoid your posts... I hope this is the last on this thread. Whether with or without Abraham, a new covenant is a new covenantDid you read what you just typed? So, then Abraham’s covenant was truncated or superceded? When? How? Mind you recognise the Abrahamic Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant and the Covenant of Christ aka Promised Covenant are individual covenants with their own meritsWhy was there moses' covenant in the first place? Why was there a need to replace it? Does it then mean the Abrahamic covenant had flaws? Didn't you read the law was instituted because of transgressions till the seed whom the promise was (notice the singular) made should come? ![]() The Abrahamic Covenant is an eternal covenant, the Mosaic Covenant became out of date and obsolete, and the Covenant of Christ aka Promised Covenant is a new covenant with a special redemptive nature making it able to stand on its ownWrong. It's all based on the promise! Go read your Bible You've been trying play hardball on this issue by repeatedly asking ''did God enter a covenant with Jesus''You must be joking. So, this was the covenant God had with Jesus? ![]() Very soon, you'll be asking where is trinity written in the scriptureI don't have time to joke around with you... That's why I avoid your posts initially. Cheers. |
nwamehn:Jesus' covenant of which you're a partaker of was a replacement of the covenant with Moses, both of which was a result of the covenant of God with Abraham. A Christian does not have any covenant with God, we rather are a result of the Abrahamic covenant, Christ being the seed of Abraham, therfore we're heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3 from verse 16 till 29 has these answers. Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Look at verse 19...the law was added (was only added) because of transgressions till Jesus should come (Jesus was in the front page of discussion from day 1), whom Abraham’s promise was made... Understand now? Jesus' new covenant was a result of that God had with Abraham, replacing that with Moses which was instituted to curb transgressions. 2. U also admitted here that Jesus had a covenant which u also said that abolished the old one established by Moses, can u please tell me who Jesus had that new covenant with if not God?I already told you.... Jesus' covenant was an offshoot of Abraham's, read that book of Jeremiah posted above. God already said what Abraham’s seed was and will do. Now, Moses covenant came, and the covenant couldn’t hold, Jesus came and fixed it. Now, if you said Jesus had a covenant with God, God lied when He said the law was there till the seed who the promise was made came... And it'd mean God struck a new covenant with Jesus (His Word) in heaven... That'd be a scam then. The covenant Jesus had in His blood was a replacement of Moses' law, and a resemblance of what Abraham did that bolstered the covenant. Gen 22 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; note 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Now let's go back to Galatians 3 verse 17 and 18,I'd use kjv version And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. I pray you understand what Paul's saying here. Paul's saying... The covenant was before God in Christ... The law could not disannul it... God gave this inheritance by promise to Abraham, this was fulfilled in Christ, of whom we all are partakers of, if we believe in Christ, hence the promises are ours today. In summary, Christ was there when the covenant with Abraham was made, and it'd be unrighteous for God to strike another covenant with Jesus (His Word), thereby truncating His covenant with Abraham. Jesus was the seed being referred to all along in the Abrahamic covenant. Pls, I really need to get ur exact points more clearly. No Wahala |

Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Tuesday, 16th August 2016 Pastor Chris Oyakhilome WHAT LEVEL ARE YOU AT? (Go For God’s Best: Walk In Divine Health) TO THE BIBLE; Mark 7:25-27 “A woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him (Jesus), and she came and fell at His feet. The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenicianby birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”” LET’S TALK Some people have asked me, “Pastor Chris, I used to pray for myself and get healed. However, nowadays, when I pray for myself, nothing happens, even though I pray for others and they receive healing. What’s gone wrong?” The answer is simple: God never told you to pray for yourself to be healed. Just because it worked for you when you were a baby Christian doesn’t mean you should go on like that. God’s best isn’t for you to be healed, but to walk in divine health. When you mature spiritually, you don’t ask God to heal you, because your faith works for divine health. When you feel symptoms of sickness in your body, you declare, “In the Name of Jesus, I command the pain to cease!” and it happens. So, what level are you at? You’ve got to move to the higher class, where there’re no headaches, fever, or any form of sickness or disease! The Bible says they that dwell in Zion shall not say, “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). The reason they don’t say it is because they don’t get sick. You’re an associate of the God-kind. Your Right To Divine Health - Tuesday, August 16 Pastor Chris Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed (1 Peter 2:24). Sometimes, people testify about their health and say, “I really thank God for giving me health. Where would I have been if He hadn’t given me health?” They think God looks around from time to time and says to one, “I give you health,” and to another, “I seize your health.” That’s not the way God is, and that definitely isn’t the kind of God Jesus pictured for us. In Matthew 8:16, the Bible says Jesus healed all that were sick, revealing to us that it’s not the Father’s will for anyone to be sick. Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” The oppression came from the devil, but it was the Father who anointed Jesus to heal all who had been oppressed. God gave you divine health because He loves you. He didn’t wait for anyone to pray for your sins to be forgiven before sending Jesus Christ to die for you; He sent Him because He loves you. In the same way, He took sickness and disease away from you and made divine healing and health your inheritance in Christ. Thus, you have a right to health, because Jesus paid for it. He died to give you divine health. Refuse to be sick. Don’t say, “But there’re some normal sicknesses”; there’s no sickness that’s normal. How could any sickness be normal? Just because it’s common doesn’t make it normal. Otherwise, why would people try to get rid of “something that’s normal?” Your ears are normal; that’s why you haven’t tried to have them cut off. People only cut off from their bodies the abnormal things: for example, cancerous growths; not the normal ones. God cares about you and wants you to live healthy and strong every day. 3 John 1:2 says, “…I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Prayer... Blessed Father, I thank you that I live healthy and strong by the Holy Spirit. Divine life is at work in me. I manifest the virtues and perfections of your righteousness, walking in the glory and dominion of the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Isaiah 33:24 And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein [shall be] forgiven [their] iniquity. Romans 8:10-11 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Exercise Your Faith - Monday, August 15 Pastor Chris …according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). Your faith is God-given and it works. Jesus said, “...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Matthew 17:20). Notice what He said: “If ye have…” because at one time, His disciples had no faith. That was when He asked them, “…how is it that ye have no faith?” (Mark 4:40). However, for us, the new creation, we were born again with faith in our spirits. There’s no Christian that lacks faith. God gave to each one of us “the measure,” not “a measure,” of faith. He gave us all the same seed of faith, but you’re required to grow your faith and make it effective. The circumstances and the crises of life are at different levels, and require different levels of faith. There’s little faith and great faith, and then there’s weak faith and strong faith. You increase your level of faith by hearing more of God’s Word (Romans 10:17), but to improve the quality of your faith—the tensile nature—you have to exercise your faith; you have to use it. For instance, that someone has a large body with a lot of flesh doesn’t necessarily mean the muscles are strong; you strengthen them by using and exercising them. Keep using and exercising your faith by acting on the Word; faith always works. If you acted your faith and it seemed like it didn’t work, go back to the Word and learn some more, and try again. It’s like a child learning to walk; it gets more perfect with every step. It’ll be wrong to say of a child who’s learning to walk, “Since this child has fallen three times, I’ll never let him walk again.” The child would have to keep at it until finally, his muscles are strong enough, and that same child starts running. Keep building and developing your faith by learning more and more of God’s Word and putting what you learn to work. Be quick to accept, believe, and do the Word. Affirm and declare the Word, irrespective of the contrary circumstances. That’s how to build strong and prevailing faith. Prayer... Dear Father, I rejoice in your Word that’s at work in me and building my spirit strong! I’m set on the path of life, guided by your Spirit in glory, and everlasting triumph. I live the glorious life of righteousness, dominion, grace and power, today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. Proverbs 24:10 [If] thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength [is] small. 2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal. petra1:Clearly, Jesus paid the ransom for our lives to God. That ransom was His own life, the shedding of His own blood, a sacrifice. Due to His sacrificial death, each person on earth has the opportunity to accept that gift of atonement and be forgiven by God. He Wants You Vibrant And Strong - Sunday, August 14th . Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (3 John 1:2). One of the ways to improve your health is making sure you have good enough rest for your physical body, and good sleep has a role to play in this. It’s recommended to sleep for a certain number of hours every day. Although some people say, “There’re days that I sleep throughout; and then other days, I just stay awake.” That isn’t a normal lifestyle. If you’re that way, always cutting back on sleep, then you’ve got to reorder your lifestyle. You’re not supposed to go on for several days without sleep, hoping to make up by sleeping eventually for twenty-four hours. That’s not going to work. Over time, chronic insomnia could drastically affect your health. God made day and night on purpose. Night has a cooling effect on the natural body. The biological effect of night is to cause you to sleep, to create the instincts of sleep, yet some people will still not want to give in to sleep. Such a lifestyle isn’t too good for your health, and could even impact your eyes negatively. The Bible says, “...wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear” (Isaiah 28:12). Can you see that? He wants you to be vibrant, healthy, and strong. Therefore, He’s telling you that a good rest is a way to improve and extend your health; it’s a way to care for your physical body. Some people leave the responsibility of caring for their physical body to God; but your body is your house, and you’re the custodian of it. So, you must take care of your body. Many get sick because they ignore simple routines like a proper rest and physical exercises. The Bible says bodily exercise profits little; it doesn’t say that it profits nothing. It’s important that you learn to keep your body healthy and strong; ensure proper hygiene, and don’t wear out your body from excessive labour. Keep your body in health, through the consistent application of the Word of God, and some basic health regimen. Make your body healthier so you can serve God better! Confession... Divinity is at work in me, in every fibre of my being, every cell of my blood, and in every bone of my body! I refuse to let sickness dominate my body, for my body is the temple of the living God, and that same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in me! I’m guided by wisdom to offer my body as a living sacrifice unto God! I live in health today, and always! Hallelujah! Further Study: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Psalm 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. Psalm 127:2 (ESV) It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. Store The Word In You - Saturday, August 13th Pastor Chris Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever (1 Peter 1:23). The Word of God is your source, and God’s plan is for you to be nourished and sustained by your source. You were born, not of perishable seed, but by the Word of God that lives and abides forever. Do you see why you’re unconquerable? Nothing can put you down, because you’re an offspring of the Word. However, you must keep feeding your spirit with the Word. The Bible says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Colossians 3:16). You become the Word of God that you receive into your spirit. As the Word of God gains the ascendancy in you, it produces in you the mind-set of victory and dominion. When you face crises, you won’t be shaken, because the Word of God is strong in you. It doesn’t matter what’s going on around you; refuse to panic. Greater is He that’s in you, than he that’s in the world. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” You can’t know this and be a sissy or weakling that’s defeated in life. The question is: do you love the Lord? If your answer is yes, you have nothing to fear. No matter what’s happening, it’ll turn out for your good. The Bible says, “…count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations” (James 1:2). Keep the smile and laughter on; you’re more than a conqueror. Store the Word in you. Digest and “drink” the Word; get it into you in abundance, and your life will be an endless stream of victories and the miraculous. Hallelujah! Prayer... Dear Father, I thank you for the Word of your grace, with which my life is being built, and established in your righteousness, victory, glory, and success. I’m one with the Word; it grows mightily in me and prevails over sickness, death, failure and all negative circumstances. The Word propels and causes me to function excellently in all my affairs, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. You seemingly are clueless about this... But anyways, the thread is simply saying you don't have a covenant with God... If you do, kindly let me know when and how. Until then... Keep wallowing in ignorance. ![]() |

Muafrika2:Negotiate with who? I ask again... Did God have a covenant with Jesus? |
[quote author=Muafrika2 post=48409179] Christ is the offering of the Covenant. But Christ by becoming man was also standing as a man, a firstborn of the generation that he negotiated for.Did God have a covenant with Jesus? He is the offering, and the high priest too... You remember the role of the High priest in the Laws of Moses, It is he who went into the holiest place once a year to pray for the people.Does that mean Jesus had/has a covenant with God? I think your issue is the Word COVENANT. Did Jesus enter a covenant with God on our behalf? Don't forget ... Moses' law was replaced by Jesus' sacrifice... Moses' law was within Abraham, for Abraham begat Isaac who begat Israel- this same Abraham had the covenant with God. [ color=#770077]Stop derailing [ color=#770077]Collosians 1: 21"..., yet now hath he reconciledDid God enter a covenant with Jesus? Yes or No And there are promises in the covenant too.Lol... We're heirs according to the promise of God to Abraham. Galatians 3:19-26 - inheritance of the people (reconciliation of men to Christ). ![]() Christ is the seed of Abraham. ..You didn't just typed that. Inherited what from Abraham? God said to Abraham "in thee shall all the nations of the earth be blessed" He was talking about the seed, which is Christ. What then was the promise? I ask again... What did Jesus inherit after Abraham ? But you will agree with me too that Abraham's blessings could only be manifested physically until Christ who opened the door into spiritual worship and spiritual gifts. Abraham's blessings are perfected in Christ's covenant. You're not getting it... Christ replaced Moses' testament... With a better covenant. Does that mean Jesus had a covenant with God? Sir... Read your Bible. It's a spiritual term. That's why salvation and the promise could get to the Gentiles... Through the better covenant Jesus brought to light. It has nothing to do with the physical. Christ is carrying forth by the power of the same covenant, and used it's strength to negotiate a better, spiritual inheritance that is different from the first one which excluded most of us as gentiles.Negotiate with who? And which was regal and imperfect. We could not inherit of Abraham as gentiles ![]() |
Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Friday, 12th August 2016 Pastor Chris Oyakhilome ALL BARK, NO BITE! (Satan Has Lost His Power!) TO THE BIBLE: Luke 10:17-19 “Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” LET’S TALK When Moses died and Archangel Michael came to take his body, satan also showed up to stake his claim, and a confrontation ensued. That’s because back then, before Jesus Christ came, satan had a “right over the bodies of everyone who died. Jude verse 9 shows us the dispute between these two over Moses’ body: “…When [even] the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, judicially argued (disputed) about the body of Moses, he dared not [presume to] bring an abusive condemnation against him, but [simply] said, The Lord rebuke you!” (AMP). At the time, satan was higher-ranking than Michael, because he was operating with Adamic authority, which he got when Adam committed high-treason in the Garden of Eden. So, all Michael could do was say, “The Lord rebuke you!” He spoke this way to satan in the Name of the Lord, in order to get Moses’ body. Now, in Matthew 16:19, Jesus said, “…I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” This is a present-hour truth! The enemy has been stripped of all power and has lost his right to this world! In our opening verses today, Jesus said, “...I give you the authority to trample “on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” You’ve got authority over satan and the cohorts of darkness. They’ve all been thoroughly and completely defeated, and you’re charged to execute judgment against them (Psalm 149:9). Never fight or struggle with him! When he shows up, or you perceive that he’s stirring trouble around you, cast him out with the Word and he’ll flee (James 4:7; Ephesians 6:17) GO DEEPER Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. SPEAK The Lord has granted me authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the ability of the devil! We Have Divine Life - Friday, August 12 Pastor Chris For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). In our fellowship with the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ, we’ve been given something free, and that’s life eternal: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1 John 5:11-12). What is eternal life? It’s the life and nature of God—the quality of the divine life. In the world, there’s the animal life and the plant life. There’s also the natural human life. However, according to the scriptures, there’s the God-type of life, and that’s what He’s given us. When you were born again, something actually transpired in the realm of the spirit. Your human life was supplanted by the divine life. This is the reality. It’s one of the reasons Christianity isn’t a religion; being born again is an actual transformation; a real spiritual birth: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). The word, “creature” means “strange living thing”: something that can’t really be described; a new species or type of being that’s born of God; that’s who you are. The Bible says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures” (James 1:18). “First fruits” means “the first and best.” The Apostle John declared in 1 John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” Why was it so important for him to let us know we have the God-life? It’s because you can’t enjoy the benefit, the power, and the influence of that life except you have it, and know that you have it. Philemon 1:6 says, “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Acknowledge and affirm that you have, and can live the God-life: the life of righteousness, praise, dominion, and glory. Hallelujah. Confession... I’m a partaker of the divine nature; I have the very essence and character of divinity. The indestructible, impregnable, and indomitable life of God is in me. I’m thus programmed and positioned for the transcendent life, dispensing the realities and verities of God’s Kingdom. Glory to God! Further Study: John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 John 5:11-12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Thursday, 11th August 2016 Pastor Chris Oyakhilome RECREATED FOR EXCELLENCE! (You’re God’s Outstanding Masterpiece) TO THE BIBLE; Ephesians 2:10 AMP “We are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” LET’S TALK “My life is so miserable,” “I’m good-for-nothing,” “I can’t seem to do anything right.” These are some of the wrong thoughts that bombard the minds of many young people today, including Christians, because they’re unaware of what God has made them to be. As one who’s born again, you were recreated in Christ Jesus for excellence. Ephesians 2:10 says you’re God’s own specially-handcrafted masterpiece. This is by no means an idle statement; it’s a sovereign declaration of Almighty God. In the mind of God, this is who you are. How else should you see and think about yourself other than this! When this becomes your mindset, others around you who’re ignorant and religious-minded may say you’re braggadocios. Don’t be perturbed by that. You’re God’s handiwork, recreated in Christ Jesus that you may do those good works which God predestined for you. You weren’t “renovated” or “refurbished”; rather you were “recreated” for the transcendent life of excellence and glory. This makes you the new superman in Christ! God has placed His seal on you and certified you an excellent success. This is His testimony of you. He made you; therefore, He knows you more than you know yourself. He wants you to have the consciousness that you’re His excellent workmanship, designed by Him to produce good works therefore do excellent things. GO DEEPER Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 1 Peter 2:9 AMP But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. PRAY Dear Lord, thank you for making me a perfect imprint and effulgence of your wisdom, righteousness, and glory! My life is beautiful and excellent, and you’ve enabled me to show forth your praises and bring colour, beauty, and excellence into everything that concerns me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Don’t Entertain Fear - Thursday, August 11th . Pastor Chris Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness (Isaiah 41:10). Some Christians have asked, “What if there’re demons ganging up against me, shouldn’t I go for deliverance?” No, don’t go for deliverance; go for the Word! A Christian doesn’t need deliverance from Satan or anything of darkness. If he’d just learn, and apply the Word of God, he’d always win, irrespective of how many demons are out there. Think about it: How many rats will be enough to agree together to attack a cat? There’s a natural fear of the cat inside the rats. Likewise, fear nothing, and fear no one. God has called you, and sent you as His ambassador to your world; you’re a minister of reconciliation. Everything has to respond to that call. You have a mandate from heaven, which you must fulfil; let nothing stop you, for you’re bigger, stronger, and greater than the adversary. God said of the children of Israel as they journeyed from nation to nation, “This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you” (Deuteronomy 2:25 NIV). 1 Chronicles 16:20-22 also says, “And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” Have no fear in you. Christ Jesus is greater than all. He said,“…the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” (John 14:30). Satan has nothing in you. Give him no room. Refuse to fear. Prayer... Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the victory I have over the devil, the world, and circumstances. Satan has nothing to his advantage in me, because I’m born of the Word, and walk in the Spirit. Fear, doubt, unbelief, sickness, infirmity, failure, and poverty are not a part of my experience of life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Muafrika2:If it did, there was then no point for Jesus coming! Am not sure we are on the same page regarding the meaning of the word covenant.God entered a covenant with Abraham... Not with you or any Christian, you, rather are a child of that covenant since you're Christ's, that now makes you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3 v29 kjv 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. What promise? Definition of covenant in jewish cultute (web);Jesus' blood was shed for the new testament, the new covenant, to replace Moses'. It doesn't imply in any way that you entered a covenant with God. Like I asked, if you're in a covenant with God, tell me when, how and what's the seal of the covenant. Thanks |
Muafrika2:To bring us into fellowship with the Father. Salvation was a means to an end, not Jesus main purpose for coming 1 Corinthians 1:9 1 John 1:1-3 |
Muafrika2:You're mistaking Abraham for Moses sir. When we say we are in covenant with God now, it's in reference to Christ's covenant.Christ is the seed of Abraham. Christ is the sacrificial offering in that covenant between us and God.You don't have a covenant with God. In the first one, between Abraham and God, the promises differ abit. ![]() They are forward looking and set the stage for the new covenant.God already thought of Jesus right in the garden when He told the serpent that the seed of the woman will bruise it's head....this was long before Abraham came to the scene.
