@revolution, where you able to check out the article on duke last 2 weeks, sunday guardian?
do you really, really think our votes would really count?
do you really think that if we put in our best effort, the right man will be sitting on that hot sit 2007?
thats my fear @revolution that we might just be wasing our time, but we could at least give it our best shot undecided

You are welcome,Eurphoria

Every state claims that their governors have done a lot of things for them in their state and especially those coming out for the presidency which makes me to wonder what they did.
The governors who are coming out for the presidency can't make good leaders. They are only advertising them.eg in Portharcourt, Aba there is serious flooding especially in Aba where majority of the roads are in a very terrible state. And the governor of Zamfara is also contesting and this makes me to think of what will happen to Nigerians especially the non-muslims if he eventually wins. The most amusing is that when Peter and Uzor are contesting, Achike is also contesting. All these things makes me sick when everyday most of the time I hear vote for this person vote for that person. One certain day, I saw women of Akwa Ibom state committing the person they have chosen to be the next president to the hands of God.I was expecting to see maybe a woman, who I saw was their governor. when I saw him, I just laughed.
When everybody are claiming that their governor is the best candidate I wonder who am going to believe. undecided
how many of us who are rooting for donald duke or pat utomi are from thier states?
i think you should ask
am not from cross-river even though i love the place so much, so this really has got nothing to do with claiming who's governor is the best or not tongue

angry Hey guys, when we are serious lets sound it. We are talking about the future of a devasted country and you are bringing up those that made it this way?
IBB ke? IBB - International Barban Barawo! make una no curse naija like this now! His place is in hell!
All those past leaders and militants, offered nothing when they were younger, so what will their old brain offer us now?
The number one seat wasn't made for them alone(Imean not their birth-right). Give others a chance!
THE YOUNG MUST GROW SHEKINA!
Chei!!@favor5
u got it right
the man is a real baban barawo! grin
donald duke is it, not just because he's handsome- no- we're talking about results.
he's got the right ideas, right mentality and right composure to bring about a significant change in niaja (if i may borrow simon kolawole's words).
if he can do what he did with the little resources in cross-river, i mean, you can imagine what he'll do with niaja.

That's like 100 things you want there. Only one guy is like that his name is Jesus! and what are you going to give in return?
wesley i already said what i meant by treating them like trash. You are not supposed to take it literally. Read my earlier posts.

@ gomer which planet do you live on where most women are independent?

I wish i could find a woman that treats me too nice! I'll love her till kingdom come.
@zeb, in the planet i live!
maybe there's something you're not doing right, if you have a good heart, hey, u'll attract the right one
you want someone to be too nice to you? are you nice too to women, do you show respect?
baby, what you give is what you get!

Orinkinla didn't 'reveal' that genevieve has a child.

GENEVIEVE DOES HAVE A CHILD. She never HID the fact that she had a child. maybe it's just me, but i've read more than one articles where she talked about her daughter.

U guys are making it seem like some 'secret' has been revealed. Geez!

Btw, orinkila, what makes u think she loved him when she slept with him? I mean it could have been a thing of the moment, i didn't know i'll get pregant thing. Now that she doesn't want the father again, well he should find his way.

They are in NOllywood, not Hollywood. SO don't ask her to do stuffs hollywood style.

All i know is she never hid the fact that she had a daughter. Y'all need to stop acting like u saw the color of her undies.
are you sure you're sixteen? undecided
u talk alot of sense girl
i think some people have seen her undies and she's dissed them and they havent gotten over it
the baby's father must be some irresponsible guy and from what we see, she has raisd the kid herself, not because you made a girl pregnant makes you a father, not all.

true talk to zeb but havent you noticed that we have more boys than men in here?
all we want is money? shocked
most women are very independent, we buy whatever we need, we dont need no man to provide for us, we can take care of ourselves!
i buy flowers for myself if i need one!
@hotangel, remember the poem "what if i am a black woman"? i think the boys need to read it- what you think?

raldsfield,
not all politicians who contest go in to enrich themselves
some of them have visions to make a change
some of them have those visions but when they go in, chai, all that money
when it comes to the issue of leadership in this country, its so very touchy
i believe the change is going to come from us, this our generation
i dont know, what do you think?

Pat Utomihuh?!!!
Please can we talk about people who have given us results?
What has he done
He can talk well, he has the words but does he also have the works?
Donald Duke is the man- see what he's done to Cross- river state. He's turned the place around- He's got words and he's got work too!
PoliticsRe: What Is The Nigerian Dream? by Gomer: 9:47am On Jul 18, 2006
@hotangel

like i said earlier which got mixed up in 2cents quote and i repeat- every goal starts with a dream, every invention started with a dream, every achievement started with a dream.
Hey guys, give this place a chance. Things are really wacked now but don't you think that somehow, sometime things will get better?
But you know, its got to start with US, from the inside it comes on to the outside.
We point fingers, we blame the government, we blame the so called leaders we have
Have you ever ran for office, won or held a post before?
Try it, you'd have a renewed admiration for your president
Who is the freaking government- You.
It don't matter where the change starts, even if its just a little corner of this country that changes- hey thats something.

we are always dissing this place and i wonder when we are going to stop

@chxta, thanks and am a babe!

Arise, O compatriots,
    Nigeria's call obey
    To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labor of our heroes past
    Shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might
    One nation bound in freedom,

    Peace and unity.

    Oh God of creation,
    Direct our noble cause
    Guide our leaders right
Help our youths the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
    And living just and true
    Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
    And justice shall reign.

I pledge to Nigeria my country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity and uphold her honor and glory
    So help me God.

That is the Nigerian Dream
Its been staring at you since you were born!

my2cents:
FYI:
However, I would strongly caution against the notion of a "dream", because those usually don't come true.

Every goal starts with a dream, every invention started with a dream, every achievement started with a dream.

I'm not a single mum or a single dad but I can connect to what you're saying in this poem.Your son must be a proud little man.
@tianshie, he is! he's the finest boy on this planet earth!
dont mind me, i over trip for the boy.
Poems For Review: A Smile As Beautiful As Yours by Gomer(op): 12:49pm On Jul 11, 2006
This poem is for my son and i hope when he gets older that somehow, somewhere he'l get to read this.
He's been the reason i move on, he's my strength.
This is dedicated to every single mum in the house (if there are any!) who have been discriminated, rejected and hurt.
Look your baby in the eyes and find the strength to move on.
you are gomer, the beloved!

before you came
life was bleak, opaque
it seemed like i couldn't move on anymore
i wanted to die
but then i'l touch that big round pouch and i'l get the strength to carry on
at least for one more day.
the next day
memories, bad memories come tearing me apart
and i really, really want to give up
but then you'll kick just at that moment
to remind me that you're with me always.
i couldnt wait for you to come
i was so so anxious to see you.

years have passed now
but i remember that day like it was yesterday
it was so painful
i almost gave up
but i so wanted to see you
i wanted to love you
i wanted to forget the pain, the regrets, the betrayal, the heartaches
i knew you were going to be my savior.
with these thoughts,
i pushed with determination as i screamed out in pain
and you came out
i looked at you and i laughed and i cried and i laughed
i couldnt stop
oh God- it was you!
you were here at last
and you were so beautiful.
our first night together, i stayed and watched you sleep
i couldn't believe that you came out of me
that you were all mine.

from that day,
you gave my life a new meaning
i had a reason-
to live
to laugh
to dance
to live again.
you are my laughter and my joy
my today and my tomorrow
my love and my life
you are my Son, my baby boy!

now, after so many years
when you look at me and smile,
these lyrics of this song comes to my head-

thought I’d seen everything there was to see in this world
Now I’m not so sure I’ve really seen anything at all
I thought life could show me no surprises
And then you came and showed me I was wrong
I thought I’d been everywhere
I’ve climbed a mountain so high,
sailed the sea,
crossed the sky
And still I was nowhere at all,
until that day, you came to my senses
And your smile,
it made sense out of it all
I have seen the bluest skies,
rainbows that would make you cry
I have seen miracles that moved my soul,
days that changed my life
I have seen the brightest stars
shine like diamonds in the dark
Seen all the wonders of the world,
but I’ve never seen a smile
As beautiful as yours

thank you for choosing me to come into my life
i love you
