gbollytee: Thanks. I'll do that. Meanwhile, how do i talk to a representative. It seems like you can only follow the voice prompts. Baba you never call MTN customer care before?, just wait until it asks if you want to speak to a representative and click the corresponding number. Also make sure you have enough airtime. |

Teedawg: sir your loan not will not be considered as a proof of fund because you have to provide the lending company your visa b4 they can process the loan b4 u get approved .. So the only documents you may have to even use at the embassy is a pre approval letter of your loan which they may not consider as proof of funds. The second reason has been pointed out by someone here earlier You can't payback your loan except you work in the USA that means you have the intention of migrating which does not qualify you for an f1 visa . You can get a soa from your family because even the school needs your soa b4 they provide you with i20 and all if u haven't gotten all those docs from the school you can't even apply for the loan talk less of a visa . Good luck VOs and school officials are well aware of the fact that no education loan is totally approved until you start schooling, that's why people have gotten I-20s and even visas from the pre-approval letter. The fact that you're borrowing the money from the US does not make any difference at all, money is money irrespective of where it is borrowed from and that is why money can be sent to anywhere in the first place. Had it been that you must stay in the US to pay your loan, US govt would have barred international students from taking loans from their banks in the first place. My advice for fwesh is to use the loan approval doc if he can't get a legal SOA from a close relative. Don't forge documents if you can't get a legal SOA. people have gotten visas with loan, I don't see why your case should be different. |

femi312: Same way there is no law that bans you from doing OPT after your studies for 3years if you are in STEM, but when they ask your study plan at the VISA Interview, we 'lie' that we will come back and never mention OPT. is there anybody that you know that mentioned OPT and was denied because of that?, the problem is that we are so afraid of getting denied that we refuse to reach the very limit that the law allow. |

Fwesh101: Thank you, I haven't applly for the loan yet my co-signer want me to be sure if it would be considered at the embassy...#proveoffund I know of someone exactly in your situation that was given a visa. start to process the loan application right away, if you're approved, take the approval document to the Embassy. If you go to the Embassy and say that you intend to fund your studies with loan and no document to show for it , it may be hard to believe. |

Fwesh101: I'm having same issue with you My problem now is how do I tell them at the embassy that I'm getting a loan from USA to sponsor my school there is no US immigration law that bars international students from getting loans from US banks. Simply tell them the truth. I assure you it won't hurt you at all except the person co-signing for you has criminal records....Is your loan application already approved? |

sunshineluv5: good day house please I need answers, based on novice things lolzzz.......the school I applied to insisted I pass through wes to evaluate my result. Can I email them my transcript from my own end, or is it my school that would send my transcript? pls how long does it take to evaluate? WES will not evaluate any transcript that you send, the authenticity cannot be verified, what you are required to do is to go to your school after you've initiated the process with WES and tell them to send official transcript to WES. The process for WES evaluation can range from just a few weeks to months. It all dapends on how fast your schools sends transcripts and responds to WES verification mail, so it is better you continue to disturb them after you initiate the process.....hope this helps |

After one year of this yankee hustle, Jah has finally done it. It has not been easy- from going to the library and jacking the whole day for GRE (ETS still knack me 308 sha) to preparing for visa interview, it has been God all the way. I want to use this opportunity to thank my brothers from another mother, fredoricko and toomuchsauce, my e-mummy lagosismyhome and TWOODS (although I had to filter your posts sha). God’s favour was clearly discerned immediately I arrived Lagos as my co-passenger in the bus I fared followed me round obalande to ensure I book a hotel since everywhere was strange to me. On getting to the embassy the next day, it was as if I entered a crusade ground. I didn’t know that people can be this obedient and calm. When one woman talk sey she need 7500 for her dad, na so people begin dash her money- everybody wan do good to tey gain God favour for visa. Na so we do biometrics and some other stuffs before main interview con reach. Omo, it was blue paper day. The VOs especially that black American woman was giving out blue papers with great ecstasy. Na so I begin beg God make CGI nor send me to her. Fortunately for me, I was sent to the guy in window 1. The VO was truly a nice person. The following ensued in our conversation. VO: where do you work? (Has any interview ever started like this?) Me: Told him about my work VO: so why Sacramento state? Me: A lot of reasons made me choose CSUS but for the purpose of this interview I’ll enumerate just 3. Firstly, Prof X IEEE research paper about the miniaturizing of planar baluns for wireless applications gave me a positive impression about the dept. so I didn’t hesitate in contacting him and telling him about my plans. He told me to go ahead and apply. Secondly, although I will be focusing on telecommunications, I needed a department that offers other courses that are relevant to Nigerian situation, courses like power system reliability and planning, CSUS not only has these courses but offers me the opportunity to simultaneously take these courses with telecommunications, moreover, the climate condition in the Sacramento valley is similar to a reasonable degree to the one we have here in Nigeria, so my body can easily adapt while my brain focuses on academic course work. VO; what is the weather in Sacramento like? (See question ) Me: it has a mild climate unlike the weather in the east coast VO: what is the current temperature? Me: 14 degree Celsius VO: in Fahrenheit? Me: I don’t know, in Nigeria we use Celsius ( abeg leave weather make you gimme visa jare) VO: what will you do after you graduate? Me: upon graduation, I intend to return to my alma mata and take up a lecturing job and after teaching for like 6 years, I believe I will be qualified enough to provide consultancy services to telecommunication giants like MTN, GLO, ETISALAT and the rest. VO: is it still called etisalat? Me: oh, no, It’s actually called 9mobile but I believe the name will still change since the banks that etisalat was indebted to are the ones currently controlling it. VO: who’s paying? Me: my dad VO: can I see your financial docs? Me: sure, passed it VO: what is your highest degree? Me: Bsc electrical and electronic engineering VO: any tests? Me: I took TOEFL and GRE VO: what did you score? Me: I got 308 in GRE and 104 in TOEFL VO: pass me your score sheets Me: I passed it VO: how many months is this program? Me: I said 20 something months( I can’t really remember) VO: I will be placing you on administrative processing Me: OK VO: Is there anything you would like to retract? (VO facial expression was like “If I see anything oluwole here , just forget about entering the US for the rest of your life) Me: no (I had nothing to be afraid of). I jeje waka comot with white AP paper. Then after just 3 days, AP changed to issued. Na to find cheap flight ticket remain now. |

Lufthansa: Good day all. House please I need ur advise as I am attempting to re-schedule an interview for an F-1 status. Although, there was an initial refusal just early this month n I am about scheduling another interview.
The bottleneck is while I am about completing filling the ds160. I quickly want to book an interview date as I complete the ds160. Now, while I attempt scheduling although I changed my email address. As I almost complete the schedule process. I got a message prompt on the screen saying " your personal details match the profile which already exists in our database. The user Id of DAT profile is .......quoting the email address I earlier used". If u created this profile in the past, you have the option to transfer ur acct to did previous one in order to avoid any inconvenience DAT may arise from having multiple accounts."
Please learned members, can I ignore this msssg and go ahead with the new schedule using the new email addr as I am using this new email addr on the new ds160? My reason for filling a new ds160/is because I want to update some details on my profile.
Also, do I qualify for an emergency interview as the school resumption is Jan 2, 2018? knowing fully well I got an earlier refusal early did month.
I will appreciate ur early responses. Thanks part of the qualification in getting an emergency interview is that you must not have been refused a US visa in the past 6 months, so unfortunately, you do not qualify for an emergency interview, moreover, your resumption is just in 8 days time , so even an emergency interview would not help your case, my own opinion is for you to defer to fall and use the time created to make significant changes to your profile.....hope this helps. |

Those schools have already been recorded in their system. Telling him you applied to another will likely lead to a denial and you would have lost your trust at the Embassy. Ayat1209: Do you mean California state University Sacramento is a red flagged school? nope, but it is not a stellar school like ASU and the likes. normally, you ought to apply to like 3 schools with CSUS as a second or preferably third option. That should be a plus in convincing the VO that you're a genuine student. |

After the normal greeting and documents passing..
VO.. Which school are you going to.
Me.. California state University Sacramento. Vo... When did you graduate.. ME... 2013, but the degree was awarded 2014... Cos of labor strike... Vo... Which school and course Me... Obafemi Awolowo University, civil engineering.. Vo... Why are you going for a masters degree degree now. Me... At this level of my career, a masters degree is indespensable cos it would earn me an automatic promotion when I resume back to work after the degree.. It would make me more effective in the conduct of my work and give me a more competitive edge among professionals.. Vo.. What have you been doing since you graduated.. Me... I have been working and developing myself professionally.. I have obtained an international certification in safety from the USA. I have obtained a certification in Project management. I have been an active member of the Nigeria society of engineers. I have obtained a certification in Procurements, logistics and supply chain management. I have worked as a graduate intern, I have worked as a graduate engineer, I have worked as a site engineer.. Then she cut in... Vo.... When did you start working. Me... October 2013... Four years plus.. Vo... Are you married Me... Yes.. Vo..... Kid... Me.... Yes Vo... How many Me... 3, a female twin and a new baby boy.. Vo.. 2 or 3...(i guess she checked my last b1 interview answers, cos then I had two kids and just had a boys in September) Me... 3 Vo... How many schools did you apply to.. Me... I considered 2 schools but applied to one. Vo.... GRE? ... Me... The department does not require gre for admission, they only require applicants to submit....(she cut in).... Typed.. And said the unfortunate statement....
Am planning to refire... Where do I need to adjust please...
Please note that I had a b1 interview on 5th of July this year.. I never knew usa visa is this hard.. I know people who get it like it was nothing... the fault with this transcript is very obvious. Applying to only one school which is considered a safe school is already a red flag, you now made situations worse by not taking a standardized test at all. Unfortunately, these two red flags cannot be adjusted over a short period of time. This is just my opinion though, I believe other gurus of the house can help your case. |
