Like I tell every Igbo who cares to listen no one need your pathetic opinion about anything in life. Saved it for your juniors at home. If it is younger ones for you and not junior that is a problem for you n your father to deal with not mine. And yes you can continue with the conjunction n contexture. I love it.

I decided to lecture you when you claimed you spoke better English than my dad and of course I. Let me dwell a little on your last reply. After the word "listen" in your first sentence, you should use a comma. In your second sentence you started with the word "saved", wrong! You should say 'save', present form of the verb. In my last class with you, I did tell you not to use "junior" when refering to ones sibling(s). You must apply what you are learning. Your last sentence lacks coherence, you were in a haste to insult. In your last sentence you used a conjunction "and" to start a sentence, that's not appropriate especially for budding writers like you still grappling with the rudiments of grammar

English tutor your juniors at home need the tutorial both cannot n can not are words that can be used interchangeably. Your father deserves the knock for over “sabi” instead of seeking for enlightenment.

Plus I do not give a flying fucq about opinion you formed. If you have any iota of intelligence you should decipher that obvious fact from my comment.

Who cares about the opinion of a resentful, deceitful, hate filled tribe like yours. A tribe so diabolical it secluded a caste “Osu caste” to be hated among it's own.

What a shame

for starters, in your first sentence, after "English tutor", you should apply a comma. Furthermore, you don't use the word "junior" when you are referring to one's sibling(s), you say younger ones. You use "junior" for colleagues at work. Note, "cannot" and "can not" are not use interchangeably, you have been committing solecism. In your second sentence, you wrote "...seeking for". You should say "seeking enlightenment". You don't use a preposition for such words as "seeking" and "demand", hence it is grammatically wrong to say "I have been seeking for admission into the university" or " I demand for an apology". In what I guess is your second paragraph, you should use a comma after the word "plus". Still on that paragraph, you used a complex sentence that reads, " If you have an iota of intelligence". This is a dependent clause which should be marked off by a comma. However, if the independent clause starts the complex sentence, you do not need a comma, the sentence would read, "you should decipher that obvious fact from my comment If you have any iota of intelligence". In what I consider your last paragraph, you made a list, namely: resentful, deceitful etc. There should be a simple conjunction "and" before the last item on the list, that is, "hate filled". Also, note that "hate filled" is a compound adjective hence should be hyphenated, so it should be "hate-filled". In the same paragraph, you used the adverb of degree "so" in the wrong way, what should be there is "very", also an adverb of degree. You also wrote "among it's own". So at your age, you do not know that "it's" is a contraction for "it is", hmmm na waoh, if you make this error next time, I'll lash you very well. Use the possessive form "its", no apostrophe. I actually overlooked most of your mistakes, you know I have to take it easy with you lest I scare you out of the English class. I guess you need the class more than my younger ones do. I made you a promise, remember, for each reply, even if it's a single word, you'll get corrected! Make sure you humble yourself enough to show others what God has been doing in your life since yesterday through me, don't be like the ungrateful nine lepers who got cured by Jesus but never bothered to say thank you.

Your father can not write half as good as I do.
Your entire tribe disgust me.

I already formed an opinion of a fellow who is quick to drag another's father into petty argument and who has hatred for an entire tribe. I am not a tribal bigot, my findings show that this cannot be said of you. Again, the word is "cannot", it is written as one word in the instance you used it. " Can not" is a complex conjunction used in this way " I can not only teach but also sing". Now, my dad would have knocked your head for this gaffe. I bet you, each of your reply will fetch you English language class from yours faithfully.
The correction is with respect to your first sentence.

Just imagine having all these resentful bitter lot from a particular tribe.

How can anyone believed what these Igbos have to say about anything or anyone in this country.

Yet some claims it is not every Igbo that is filled with so much bitterness hatred n depression.

I am yet to see a single Igbo that his or her life is not not dedicated to hate n bitterness. Never !

If you want to insult the Igbos, do so in correct English language and be forgiven, What is "how can any one 'believed'"? and "Yet some 'claims'..."? I hate bad English, it gives me a headache

Literature / Re: Chimamanda Adichie Upset About Hillary Clinton's "Wife" Bio On Twitter by goodmanjustice: 8:05pm On Apr 23, 2018
Issakendrick:
A writer and advocate for gender equality "Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie" confronted former US First Lady and US presidential aspirant "Hillary Clinton" on her Twitter bio in which she identifies herself first as a "wife".

While interviewing Hillary Clinton at a PEN World Voices Festival lecture at the Cooper Union in Manhattan on Sunday night, Chimamanda asked the former Democratic presidential candidate why, with all her career accomplishments, she chose to be primarily identified in her Twitter bio as a "Wife."

Chimamanda said:

In your Twitter account, the first word that describes you is ‘Wife.’ And then I think it’s ‘Mom,’ and then it’s ‘Grandmother'. And when I saw that, I have to confess that I felt just a little bit upset. And then I went and I looked at your husband’s Twitter account, and the first word was not ‘husband.’

Bill Clinton’s Twitter bio leads with, "Founder, Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States." There was no mention of his marital status, neither did he add that he's a father.

Adichie said she wanted to know if it was Clinton’s choice to first identify in relation to her husband, and if so, why.

And Hillary Clinton replied:

When you put it like that, I’m going to change it.

Clinton's response prompted roars from the crowd. But she had a good explanation for why she started by describing herself as a "Wife" in her Twitter bio. She said that women should be able to celebrate both their accomplishments and their relationships. She told a story about hearing the former US First Lady, late Barbara Bush speak at Wellesley in the early 1990s.

Quoting Barbara Bush, Hillary Clinton said:

She said, you know, at the end of the day, it won’t matter if you got a raise, it won’t matter if you wrote a great book, if you are not also someone who values relationships.

And though Barbara Bush got a standing ovation after that speech, Hillary Clinton told Chimamanda Adichie and the PEN crowd she’s not sure Bush was right.

Clinton said:

It shouldn’t be either/or. It should be that if you are someone who is defining yourself by what you do and what you accomplish, and that is satisfying, then more power to you. That is how you should be thinking about your life, and living it. If you are someone who primarily defines your life in relationship to others, then more power to you, and live that life the way Barbara Bush lived that life, and how proud she was to do it.

But I think most of us as women in today’s world end up in the middle. Wanting to have relationships, wanting to invest in them, nurture them, but also pursuing our own interests.

I am not a Buhari fan, but I'll say we are taking this a little too far, making it look like a case of giving a dog a bad name and hanging it. To start with, the noun phrase "a lot" is a quantifier used to mean many of or much of. The speaker did not say "all", which means the whole number of. Moving ahead, the speaker did not say a good number of the youths are lazy, he said, in a paraphrase, that they argue that since Nigeria is an oil producing country they should get health care and all free. This does not mean they are not working. Do not forget that the reference is to a good portion of the youths, not all.

In any case, we the youths are passing through much ordeal than this perceived verbal insult. I hawked all manner of things to see myslf through the secondary sch, in hunger i obtained a BA, in anticipation i obtained a pgde, hope led me to invest all my earnings to acquire an MA at UI 3yrs ago, yet i teach in a sec sch with a very very laughable take home...u see, any one who says or even implies that people like me are lazy would have his mouth infected with boils that would fester and breed worms oozing acrid odour attracting flies from all angles, and this would only be the begining of the person's punishment. Tell me what they have done to help the youths, i mean those who really need the help. The anger I bear for this country is so pent up that if it surges forth, I'll single handedly take down those chasms standing on my way in what would culminate into an amagedomistic catastrophe. If I sound incoherent, blame it on my shattered heart which gives room for streams of consciousness. The supposed verbal abuse is not the problem, this govt has rubbed us of joy and has mortgaged our future

It will be good the Pastor put the record straight

1. Africa Mission offering is not done every week; unless the Parish/Area/Zone/Province made a commitement to do so. I will be more clearer on tnis if I know his parish.

Also money does not go straight to the purse of mummy G.O. Foluke Adeboye; there is a board headed by Pastor Brown Oyitso.

2. The church does not place anyone under curse; only reading what Malachi 3:8-10 says.

3. Lands in camp are not bought but free of charge after paying developmental fees and meeting other requirements; one of which you must be a member of RCCG. If you decide to leave, you can remove your house, but the land belongs to RCCG.

4.You shall know the Truth, the Truth shall set you free, if you know it. I will impore Pastor Wellington to ask for the leading of the Holy Spirit.

I am writing as a private member and as a worker in RCCG,; Iam not the spoke's man.

5. RCCG is not a cult; there is free entry and free exit

If it is not that two members are fighting to occupy the same position at AG and even exchanging bullets, then its one catholic priests refusing to vacate a parish. You also here of pastors presching tithe like its the in matthew 24:14. I count mysf furtunate to be a JW, walahi! When I think about the spiritual draught ppl are suffering, i lift my hands to thank Jehovah.

I dont have to worry about donation on Sundays when i attend meetings, I dont have to be made to feel inferior in any way. See what is happening outside, the devil is let loose, but my family and i are protected

I hardly comment on Nairaland these days due to the invasion of kids and/or people who wanted to deliberately act stupid for likes and being infamous.
But I have to say something about this RCCG issues. This is a firsthand saying. My mum rented her land to RCCG in Warri and initially they agreed to pay yearly fees of which was being fulfilled. But suddenly there was a delay in payment and my mum ask them that despite their members, offerings, tithes and other donations, why can’t they pay their fees and the pastor told my mum that when the money is collected every Sunday, the elders get the total, take a share of the money to the HQ and give him the remaining for the Maintenance of the church. The little he is given can’t take care of church stuff nor pay rent that’s why he is struggling for rent.
My mum met the elders and ask why is it like that and they said it’s directions from HQ and they are powerless. One funny thing is they told my mum to sow the land to them and God will reward her well. Mum laughed and said God has already rewarded me by making me to buy this land, taking it from me, how will I feed my children?
Till today it is a battle for rent payment by a church whose net worth can be equated to billions of naira. I have decided that on my visit to Nigeria, I will go to the church on Sunday and during testimony will politely give the church 30 days to vacate the land else they will hear from my powerful lawyers who is not only well feared but he’s agnostic, so there won’t be sentiments in his duty.

When I look at how churches are operated today, I can't but thank Jehovah for giving me the grace of being a member of his witnesses here on earth. Assemblies of God members will exchange bullets just to occupy a position, catholic priests will disobey the pope and instigate rivalry among members over posting, New Generation Churches will stop at nothing to enrich themselves at the expense of their members.

As for me, I go to my meetings on Sunday without of offering. I sit where i desire, I dont clean anybody's shoes, we are all brothers and sisters, no leadership fight...lol, walahi, i pity the sheep outside the "ark"

I really dont like adding my voice to matters concerning women because of how subjective most of them are with thier judgment. How can someone like ceec say that her bad behaviour has brought her thus far, that she loves who she is. Much as we all have diff xter traits, we all strive for a " standard" behaviour, where standard is considered to b what is culturally accepted at a given time in a particular society. You dont keep spilling anger with scathing words at an individual for an hour and still want to b admitted into a society like ours. The first thing ppl like me look for in a lady is humility and calmness of spirit. I hate it when a lady is quick to use such words as "stupid" "rubish, nonesense, no, or expressions like, " dont ask me, i dont know, how is it my business, etc. To be sure, I am not one who insists women become subservient no, but ladies, u guys should find a modest way to put ur views accros, come off this militant approach to things, it takes a real woman to say , sorry, oh! My bad, pls forgive, yes, it does not matter who's at fault. Dont decieve ursf by saying ul improve if u get married, old dogs dont learn new tricks and running horses cant b shoed.

Last bullet! If CeeC is the only woman left in the whole wide world, yours faithfully will remain happily single, that lady is a metaphor for death sentence

omohayek:
What is Sowore's political philosophy? What concrete plans does he have to make Nigeria better? How does he intend to pay for them? How does he intend to get them through the NASS? It's not enough for Sowore to be "youthful" or to offer a fresh face: until he has detailed, sensible answers to all of these questions, he won't be worthy of my support, and I don't think he's worthy of anyone else's either.

Those rushing to support Sowore, simply because of how terrible Buhari has been, are under the delusion that things can't get any worse no matter who takes over, but that is a very, very wrong assumption. Sowore's very lack of any political track record or stated beliefs means there are no guarantees as to what he will do if he ever wins power; as bad as Buhari is - and I think he's utterly useless on matters of economics - at least we could draw on Buhari's past to know what we were getting into, and indeed the last 3 years have offered no surprises on that score.

I am certain that there are plenty of other potential candidates out there who can offer both Sowore's "youth" and freshness on the scene, as well as delivering coherent, carefully thought out policy programs that show they've given serious thought to Nigeria's problems and how to solve them. All Sowore has to offer so far is meaningless blather about his "detribalized" and "cosmopolitan" personality.

I cant agree less with you. But do you know it is possible that one comes out with a perfect solution to solve the myriads of problems bedevilling us, yet gets in there and does not perform. The problem is not the "driver", it is the "bus". Our problem is a systemic one. Look, no matter how bad an America president is, he/she must deliver, the system is on "deliverance default setting". Even with the best brains in power here in Nigeria, we may still no get it right until the system is strengthened.
1 . Those elected to the NASS should be of good behaviour, they are part of the system. What is, for instance, TA Orji doing in the senate.

2. Those who supposedly man ministries as ministers should be professionals in d field. They should be picked from universities where they have shown their abilities. You don't put a SAN in the ministry of power and expect results. Forget the Permanent sec, it's duplication.

3. Make political offices less attractive. The humongous amount allocated to these offices makes it hard to know who really wants to work.

4 lets begin to hold local govt chairmen accountable, they are part of the system. All they do is collect allocation and feed fat. Moreover, they should receive their allocations from the federal purse direct, not through governors. No governor should be allowed to set up caretaker committee or whatever they call it. Local govt chairmen should b dully elected and not boys to the governor, see what is happening in Imo state.

Admittedly, no one single person can wave a magic wand and all these would happen, but if we must get it right we must fight. The problem is under our feet, but we seem to be looking at the roof top

To cut the long story short: Jesus Is God!!!

I just hope we all know on judgement day, the wisdom which God has given us will be used against us; Cos somethings we twist with our own hands will end up putting us in trouble...

I pray we all have the best explanation to back up our religious decisions on earth on the day of accountability!!!

Let me start by teaching you s few rules of grammar, or should I say reminding you. You should say, " to cut a long story short", not " to cut the long story short". Again, the colon you put after short ":" is not required since you are not providing a list of items. "!", this is an exclamation mark, not a tribal mark, use it sparingly. After the word "trouble" you used an ellipsis"...", it is a misfit in that position. Now to the crux of the matter. Jesus is not God almighty and this is not a rocket science. Jesus said in John 14:28 that the father is greater than he. You would recall that on a number of occasions Jesus prayed, to whom was he praying if he is God? Whose voice was heard from heaven when Jesus was baptized, it certainly won't be Jesus'. We don't have to wait for the last days to get these points, they are all in the bible. I pray this meets you well.

6. Does God share his glory?

Quran

Sura 57:1
All that is in the heavens and the earth extols the glory of Allah.1 He is the Most Mighty, the Most Wise.

In the old testament, we see God saying He will not give His Glory to another.

Isaiah 42:7
"I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.

Clearly, no Prophet will say he will be glorified with God let alone say he had glory with God before the world was created. But that is what Jesus said.

John 17:5
And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Is this the sort of thing prophets say?

WHY DO WE WORSHIP JESUS?

We worship him not only cos he showed us that he is God, but cos he also said that we should honor him just as we honor his Father and that everything that belong to the Father are his. Is that what prophets say?

John 16:15
ALL THAT BELONGS TO THE FATHER IS MINE. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you."

John 5:21-23
For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.
Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,
THAT ALL MAY honor THE SON JUST AS THEY HONOR THE FATHER. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

We give him praise and worship since that is one of the ways we honor the Father.

His statements in the verse above show that he demanded worship. That's why his followers worshipped him on numerous occasions.

Mathew 2:11, Mathew 14:33, John 9:38, Mathew 28:17, Luke 24:52

His disciple Thomas even addressed him as My Lord and my God

John 20:28
Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

So, where did Jesus say "I am God worship me"?

As we have seen, he has called himself the forgiver of sins, the resurrection, the truth, the final judge, the one who has glory with God and demanded we honor him the same way we honor the Father.

These are not the claims of a man, not even the claims of a mighty prophet. These are the claims only God can make. And this is why Christians believe that Jesus is God and worship him.

Next week, I will show you How God can die. Stay tuned.

I do not actually know the fulcrum of your argument, but I'll make some guesses to aid me offer a response. I reckon your argument is that Jesus is God almighty himself. But there is a structural lapse in your offering which puts a strain on the edifies of opinion you hold out. First your position shows you are discussing two entities. Whether you agree or not is immaterial, for Jesus says in John 14:28..You heard that I said to you...the father is greater than I am. In the account of Colossians 1: 15, apostle Paul referred to Jesus as the "image of th invisible God, the first born of all creation"...Jesus thus was created, hence, he who created him must be greater. Is it any wonder then that Jesus on a number of occasion while on earth said he had come to do the will of the one that sent him. In fact, on the night of his death, the pain was so much that he wished things changed, but as it was, it wasn't in his powers to change the tide. Prior to the selection of his disciples, Jesus was said to have prayed all night to make the right choice, to whom was he praying, if he had that much power, why did he need to be guided. Again, whose voice came down from heaven to confirm Jesus' sonship at his baptism, perhaps it was Jesus'own voice that said to Jesus" this is my son with whom I am well pleased"? During the transfiguration , the same voice boomed from heaven but with the addition "listen to him". Throughout Jesus ministry on earth, he made it clear that he was a messenger, he never arrogated powers to himself, he referred his listeners to a Being greater than he. .. Your argument obviously touches on the relationship between Jesus and God the almighty. Whether we accept it or not, Jesus himself has accepted his position as the second in command, a perfect representation of his father. He did not say "no one comes to me except through me" but no one comes to the father, we all are going to the father, Jesus is a means, hid father, the end...Happy Sunday brothers and sisters

This guy is always criticizing and insulting pastors over everything, yet he abused and drove out his wife and children and is living with another man's wife. These are only a few of the many unchristlike things about him so I wonder where he gets his moral justification from.

Be looking for moral justification you hear. Instead of taking the message you are there talking about moral justification. You attend churches today all you hear is how u will make it, how you must get to the top, how God will wipe ur enemies. No teaching of the scriptures. Pastors these days are philosophers and motivational speakers whose spoken English is impeccable. You just keep nodding your head to the beauty of there expressions. Deep down my heart...very deep, I know Jesus and his father will be look at these modern day pastors n will say "who sent this one to do all des, and he is even saying he has encounter with Us."

Literature / For Chima: A Poem by goodmanjustice: 6:13am On Feb 20, 2018
For Chima
How, with the same gasp they declare
This life vanity,
They mock those who choose its flip side
I vowed not to sit with those who want
To kill your cadaver
They were not there when sweet chirrups
Became a cacophony of strangulating sound
I was!
When the petrichor became a chokin pungent odour
I was!
Little do they know of your hiraeth battle
I do!
The only one who believed in you was no one
You had long ‘left’ this vale of tears before you LEFT
No one’s alive whose only home’s his torn-strewn heart
No one’s alive whose only companion is
His lonely self
For life is not the effortless activity of breathing
In and out
It is not the luxury of going to bed and rising
Life is fulfillment
It is the reverberating serenade of laughter
Overflowing from the strings of the heart
And lingering long after it is struck
Life is the glowing embers of achievement
Fanned by a price-tag-free companionship
It is the gentle pat on the back that jolts one
From reverie
Sending shivers of joy down the spine
See them seated and howling abuses at you
How your action was a testament to cowardice
And how your Pilot will send you to eternal
Damnation
Just as if they have a say in who gets what
On the day of CALL.
I know you are resting
Do so in peace!
