Dapo777: I got admission at bowen university in 2012, the joy and anxiety was still there and all that. I was warned that I won't like the school that they are too strict but I stubbornly refused to listen, thinking I would survive anything.
I was disappointed when I discovered this things about Bowen university. Luckily I got admitted into ui and ran for my dear life.
1)Religion is more important than education. Every students must attend chapel service every Tuesday,Thursday, and twice on Sunday at specific times, and its compulsory for all students regardless of your religion. If you try to skip any chapel service, you would be suspended for a semester.
2)Your dress style is more important than your character. -You can't wear jeans -You can't wear 3/4 trousers -You can't keep afro hair style -You can't use handband -You must be in complete shirt and tie and plain trousers to class
3)You can't decide when to eat. There is a food time table for all students,if u miss morning food time table,no food for you in the morning again because all cafetarials would close when its past the time for eating. Same with afternoon and night food.
4)You can't stay outside at night. You dare not be found outside your hostel anytime from 7:30pm. Every student would be sent back to their hostel once its 7:30pm, and by 9pm u can't be found outside your room.
5)Compulsory devotions for everyone. By 6am you would be woken up for a 30 minutes devotion(singing and praising) and every 10pm you would be sent out of your room for 30 minutes devotion every single day including Sundays.
6)You can't leave the school compounds without applying for visa. First of all,you can't go outside the school compound for any other reasons than to visit the bank for withdrawal or payment. And you must write a letter to the hall supervisor, who would read your letter (reasons why you want to go out) and he would sign it,and then you will take the letter to the student's affairs unit where they also read the letter and give u a paper where u write Ur name and department and date of departure, this paper you will then take to a woman in charge of the gates, who collects it and ask you to write your name on a list she then gives you a tally that you show to the gate man who would then allow you out. Maximum of 1 hour can be spent outside the school, later than that, and you could be purnished.
7)You must make 80% of class attendance before you would be allowed to do exam. Class attendance marking is always done.
They give holiday assignment and you must submit it on resumption.
9)The cost of living there is very high, because the sellers know we can't go outside school easily.
10)The hostel that they are paying 120k for ,is in a terrible state, dirty toilets, slippery varenda, stinky environment. Mosquitoes nko? Wahala. 8 students per room for 120k per session.
The good things I liked about bowen university
1)The girls their are very naive and easy to get, they are desperate to have boyfriend because they are leaving their father's house for the first time. The ratio of females to males is 7:1. Same thing with young female food sellers at cafetarials, because you are a bowenite, they assume you are very rich,so they open up easily to you.
2)You can sell anything at any price if you know your way. Most Students there are from very rich families,so if you have an item, let's say a gold chain, and you know how to hype and market it ,you can sell fake gold chain for 50k, they have the money, but not all of them are gullible oo.
3)Their new library is very beautiful and ultra modern, fully airconditioned and strong internet access if you have the rj45 cable.
4)The chapel too is quite beautiful and fully airconditioned.
And this not a joke. Go there and witness it yourself. @Op I will nt call u a complete liar because u said 2012 but sha u r a partial liar ur no1 and 2 points r true n valid while no 3 has being cancelled following d riot last yr march, also students can stay in sku with their babes till hrs of 8-9 ,also devotion is nt as compulsory as u make it look as I haven't attended more dan 1ce dis wk, okay u apply 4 exeat b4 u leave d compound, but HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENTS?; haba do some research b4 saying such false tins abt sum1s alma mater. I hope u change... We over here cannot b more proud of our school as we r now.. so shush |

Health › Bleaching Creams And Skin Cancer by GOOOGLE504(op): 6:26pm On Feb 01, 2015 |
The Effects of Bleaching Cream on The Skin Ignorance they say kills faster than the deadliest diseases, that is why there is the need to enlighten us on the effects of bleaching agents on the skin. You and I are vulnerable to skin cancer because of the region we find ourselves. Melanoma is the deadliest of the 3 types of skin cancer even to the extent that it affects their names – if it is not melanoma, then it is ‘non-melanoma’. Now back to our discussion.
Many of us just use these creams but don’t care about their working principles, am happy to announce to you that the bleaching creams work by peeling off the dark outer layer of the skin. i.e., it will slowly remove and slough off the outer layer of the dermis. In human, MELANIN is the primary determinant of skin colour, melanin in the skin is produced by melanocytes, which are found in the basal layer of the epidermis.
Melanin is an effective absorber of light; it dissipates over 99.9% of absorbed U.V Radiation from the sun. The absence of melanin in the body leads to a defect called Albinism. It occurs when melanocytes produce little or no melanin. The creams we use peel off this melanin from the surface of our skin and then we might end up having melanoma if the usage is not reduced or stopped. “When you get to know more about melanoma, trust me you won’t wish for your enemies to have it”. Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that comes from melanocytes, it often resembles moles; some develop from moles. It can spread to other parts of the skin. There are currently around 13,500 new cases diagnosed each year from melanoma in UK . if you discover you are developing moles on your skin and they are changing size, shape or colour, please see a doctor; other symptoms are; unusual sores, lumps, blemishes markings or changes in the way an area of your body feels. Please friends let us all embrace our differences because they are an advantage to us… THANKS FOR READING. |

Politics › Re: 'When It Comes To Corruption During My Government, I Was A Saint' — IBB by GOOOGLE504(m): 7:40am On Jan 06, 2015 |
Flye: ABUJA— Former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd), has said that he should be regarded as a saint given the level of corruption that pervades the Nigerian society today. Babangida also scored himself high in the management of the economy during the eight- year period of his administration, claiming that he actually worked hard to end the menace of corruption rather than promote it. According to Babangida, those who held contrary opinion about the activities of his regime did so out of ignorance of what he did while in office. Babangida’s claims are contained in the latest edition of the Economic and Financial Crimes quarterly magazine, Zero Tolerance, a copy of which was obtained by Vanguard in Abuja yesterday. The former president said he was able to manage the economy and still left surplus in the treasury with a paltry $7 billion oil revenue compared to what is being earned by the government today. He stated: “Maybe I have to accept that but anybody with a sense of fairness has no option but to call us saints. I give you an example, in a year; I was making less than $7 billion in oil revenue but in the same period there were governments that were making between $200 billion and $300 billion. “With $7 billion, I did the best I could but with $200 billion there is still a lot to be achieved. I don’t have all the facts but if what I read in the papers is what is currently happening, then I think we were saints.” Babangida further claimed that he did his best to stabilise the Naira, leaving the exchange rate at N22 to the dollar, saying that the current exchange rate in the country was not his making. The Naira is exchanging for between N193 and N200 depending on where and when, following the slight devaluation of the Naira in the wake of plummeting oil prices. $12.4 Gulf War oil windfall Asked what he did with the $12.4 Gulf War oil windfall, Babangida further said that he used the money wisely on what he described as “regenerative investment,” giving examples with the building of Abuja City and the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge as some of such investments. He also stated that contrary to insinuations in many quarters, the oil windfall revenue was not stolen as, his administration channelled the money into the provision of critical infrastructure that Nigerians were using today. He said: “I am not an economist but I have an understanding of what this is. Our argument then was if you have the money then why keep it and be looking at it when you have a lot of things to do that will benefit the ordinary man? So that money was not stolen. “Let us take Abuja for example. I built it. Today, we have a brand new capital; we used that money. I gave you a Third Mainland bridge, Lagos, which you cannot build today with all the money that Nigeria is making.” Most investigated ex-president in Nigeria The former leader, who recently hosted President Goodluck Jonathan in his expansive mansion in Minna, the Niger State capital, said he was not worried over the corruption toga being bandied about him and his administration, claiming that it was a mere perception thing. He said he remained the most investigated former president in Nigeria but was happy that nothing incriminating had been found against him to justify the claim that his government was corrupt. According to him, “now, even our fiercest critics give us credit for certain things we did. I have been the most investigated president Nigeria has ever had. By now somebody should have come forward to say here it is. Every government that came after me investigated me because of that perception because they wanted to retrieve the billions that I stole.” On June 12 election On why he annulled the June 12 election won by his late friend, Chief M.K.O. Abiola, IBB said he had given the reasons in the past but pointed out that the very people who claimed to support the election were the same who turned round to work with the military junta and made it to perpetuate itself for many years. He said: “All those who fought for June 12 ended up serving the military government they didn’t like and that perpetuated a longer stay of the military in government.” he is right... the level of corruption in this country is currently at its peak... it has never been this bad. |

Christianity Etc › Devil Cannot Harm You, See Why by GOOOGLE504(op): 12:12pm On Sep 07, 2014 |
The Bible says in 1peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR". the devil and his agents can only devour a set of people: people who allow him gain advantage of them like in 2cor 2:11 "lest Satan get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices".
What simply is that only device he uses to draw us out of God's shield: it is SIN, FLEE AWAY FROM SIN SO THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO REACH AND USE YOUR GLORY TO SERVE GOD.
and it shall be well with you in Jesus name.Amen. |
