Weekend propaganda and delusion by an IPOB clergyman to make his mindless followers feel happy in their empty heads.
It doesn't change the harsh REALITY on the ground that Nnamdi Kanu is a convicted terrorist serving a life imprisonment jail term in the sweltering heat of a Sokoto correctional facility. No amount of lies,falsehood and propaganda can change that.

Monday sit-at-home will continue as a voluntary action in demand for fairness and justice for Ndigbo. Once Nnamdi Kanu regains his freedom, normal activities will resume.”

Residents emphasized that the protest is not about IPOB alone, but a demonstration of solidarity with Kanu and a stand against what they see as lopsided treatment of the Igbo people.

I have been following Nnamdi Kanu's trial for a long time now. I have managed to get into the court premises on two occasions, but never the court its self. Security is always something else on the days of Kanu's trial. But there are 5 things Justice Omotosho did on the day he passed judgement on Kanu which I find very strange.

1. When Omotosho took over Kanu’s case, he banned the use of any recording device in court during trial. You could only take pictures of Kanu before the judge arrived, or after he had left, but not during the trial it self. He even once ordered that Kanu's sister in-laws phone be confiscated because she forgot and wanted a selfie with Kanu. So it was a big shock that on the day he would passed judgement, not only did Omotosho allow every recording device to be used his court, he allowed all kinds of Tv stations in, and even allowed them to live stream it. Why? It almost looked like a judge who was out to teach Kanu a lesson on a national platform

2. It is customary in all High courts of the world to give the accused person a last chance to address the court, if he so wishes, before judgement is passed. Particularly if the charges carry the death sentence. This is mainly because there may have been new developments that could affect the trial. Surprisingly, when Nnamdi Kanu wanted to make his final address, Omotosho refused. This angered Kanu, led to him making outbursts, which caused Kanu being escorted out of court. Not allowing an accused to make a final address he wishes to make is a good indicator that the Judge is just in a rush to jail the defendant at all cost


3. While reading the judgement, Justice Omotosho started going into things Kanu wasn't even charged for. He started saying that Kanu threatened former British ambassador, Catriona Laing, that he threatened to blow up an American Embassy, lodged in a hotel under an assumed name. He even accused Kanu of killing Ahmed Gulak based on an autopsy report. Autopsy report can only tell you how a person died, it cant tell you who killed them. None of these things were what Kanu was charged for, or in court for, they had no bearing on the case. Why would a Judge do this?


4. Another shocking thing Omotosho did is to convict Kanu based on an evidence he had already thrown out. During Kanu's trial, the DSS tried to tender statements and video clips where they said that Kanu claimed to be leader of IPOB, and was the one that created and funded ESN. This was challenged by Kanu's legal team. Omotosho ruled that any statement or video interview obtained by DSS from Kanu while he was in their custody could not be used unless Kanu's Lawyer or chosen witness, was there at the time because it was against the law. So it was shocking to see the same Omotosho go back to the same evidence he had thrown out, and used it to convict Kanu on two counts

5. Of the seven charges brought against Kanu, 6 of them were about Radio broadcast he made, while one was about importing a Radio Transmitter wrongly labelled as 'household goods'. No where did the charges against Kanu say that he killed anyone, destroyed any property, or that his broadcast led to the killing of anyone or destruction of any property. The charges were all about what he said. However, Justice Omotosho called Kanu a terrorist, not based on anything he did, but what he said. It was shocking to hear a Judge reduce such a serious crime as terrorism to spoken words and Radio broadcast. Terrorism is always an action, it is never spoken words alone

Apart from being a terrorism enabler like Sheik Gunmi,you have also proven yourself to be a purveyor of falsehood,lies and propaganda. With this your legal sagacity, it is a wonder you have not taken over the defence of Nnamdi Kanu's appeal process from the charge and bail clowns Ejimakor and Maxwell and then you can point out all your observations to the court of appeal Justices'.

I really pity the future for Nnamdi Kanu because in his megalomania and messianic complex he has surrounded himself with yes men and dunderheads he can dictate to,while they feed him with the falsehood that is music to his ears.

James Omotosho is the fourth (4th) Justice to handle this case after Kanu in his usual uncouth manner has accused all of them of bias and corruption. The funny thing is that at least two of those Justice's he accused of corruption are now elevated and are now presiding in the Appellate court. The joke is on Kanu and his IPOB supporters.

Ejimakor and Maxwell are those clowns Nnamdi Kanu trusted his fate in and elevated as his legal consultants. In reality these two lawyers on any given day were not more than charge and bail lawyers. Even the appeal of this conviction will be difficult because those two charge and bail content creators prevented Kanu from even entering a single defence on any of the 7 counts the prosecution entered against him so what exactly is Kanu going to appeal against?

The heat in Sokoto is second to none starting from January ending. It has to be experienced to be understood.

Such a government was not going to give justice, no matter what the courts said. He knew this and never bothered to enter a defence, which they would have used to legitimise a predetermined judgement. The thing about all of this is that Kanu has been in detention for 5 years, and Nigeria has only gotten worse in that time.

You jail or detain him for another 100 years has no bearing on the downward spiral of Nigeria

Justice Omotosho refused to be distracted by Nnamdi Kanu's unruly antics. He rather excused himself from the court until Kanu was removed from the court room. No need exchanging words with a potentially condemned man. After all trial and judgement in absentia is legal and allowed under the law.

The security agents who were thoroughly provoked by Kanu who physically attacked them. Also the prosecution lawyers were verbally abused and cursed by Kanu.

I have told you several times on these boards. The lowest base form of argument is called WHAT-ABOUT-ISM. It is a fallacy and false argument that seeks to exonerate and excuse bad behaviour by pointing at ANOTHER bad behaviour.

Listening to Justice James Omotosho reading his judgement you can see it is a very robust and rich judgement. Nnamdi Kanu was given several avenues to defend himself but he and his legal team continually stood logic on its head while seeking to surreptitiously subvert and delay judgement in the case while putting the blame on the prosecution.
The judgement must be given today and if Kanu is dissatisfied he is free to appeal the judgement at a higher court of competent jurisdiction. Simple.
