TrebleChamp: We need to get a striker in this January or promote Chido Obi-Martins and any other good youth striker, Rasmus and Orobosa are not it at all....
I doubt if Obi-Martins could be worse than Zirkzee or Hojlund on current form. He would gain some valuable experience if Amorim promoted him into the first team squad. Amorim probably has his own ideas and preferences for a centre forward moving forwards.
adisaaowala: We didn't even cede possession to them per se...
Quite impressive that we have to conceded yet
They have started bombing us sha
Onana with the save
Liverpool and United are close rivals. Both teams should up their game no matter the venue. Sutton may have won the Premier league with Blackburn Rovers but as a pundit he is as lousy as all the others. I never let a pundit sway my beliefs or views on a football game.
adisaaowala: Liverpool are keen to play the match - them wan rod our team mercilessly
I believe the safety of the lives of fans before and after the game is more important than the three points at stake. People could slip on the ice and break limbs in the darkness after the game.
The game is likely to be called off due to bad weather and crowd safety. The whole area leading to Anfield is covered wit snow and ice leading to safety concerns for fans.
beerfraud: any Obidient who registered on nairaland between 2011-2013 must have said negative things against Peter Obi
So what has changed about Peter Obi since 2013?
In my opinion he is even more dangerous and deadly especially with the mindless mob backing him up. You are doing a good job. Keep on exposing the hypocrisy.
beerfraud: BTW I only copied what they said about Peter Obi when he was Governor of Anambra
You need to start a dedicated thread for this kind of expose of hypocrites. I read that thread by Mrvitalis and just couldn't believe the double speak coming out of his mouth.
Farotimi seriously needs to stop playing to the gallery. Law deals with facts and not emotional outbursts and shedding of crocodile tears. He who alleges MUST prove his allegations with hard facts. Farotimi made serious criminal and fraudulent allegations in a book against Chief Afe Babalola and all the lawyers in his entire chambers. Farotimi did not only stop there but went ahead with impunity to disparage the integrity of all the justices of the Supreme court. He will now have the opportunity to provide evidence of all these allegations when he has his day in court next year. By the way with all these podcasts he is doing he should also know he is already breaching one of the cardinal conditions of his bail. I hope he and his supporters don't start crying foul if he is committed back to prison custody for contempt of court. Some people never learn.
All drug dealers and peddlers of filth should be strung up and quartered. The only good drug dealer is a dead one. These guys need to understand that it is not everything that is business. Had the beast in this story succeeded in his illicit trade he would have repatriated the money he gained and laundered it by building a filthy mansion in his village and begin to oppress his neighbours.
nitrogen: I have two problems with you guys. First is you have forgotten that there are 11 different personalities playing on the pitch for Man Utd. To have them play as a team, the manager’s input is more important than anything else. Second, the fact that we want a manager to succeed should not mean that we would castigate everything and everyone else around the manager except the manager. If someone is messing up, just say it, even if they are new.
So are you blaming the manager for the rash and reckless tackles or the 6 foot 4 afro haired centre forward that can't win any aerial balls or the other centre forward that can't score goals? Maybe we should blame the coach for two different goalkeepers conceding goals from direct corner kicks?
United are in deep trouble and the sooner this truth is understood the better. The only option is for Amorim to edge most of them out in January and in the summer. Even then it will take more than two transfer windows to clear out the dross.
nitrogen: Everytime, rebuild, surgery, what about the previous ones we did? Abeg, we should stop blaming just the players.
So who should we blame? You have players diving into reckless tackles and getting sent off. You have goalkeepers conceding goals direct from corner kicks. You have centre forwards that can't hold up play. You have centre forwards at 6"4 that can't win headers. The team does not score enough goals. The team is rooted in 14th position on the table. United are a mid table team. The sooner fans accept this truth the better.
kettykings: During the civil war, the ineffectual and cowardly Nigerian forces, lacking both strategic vision and military prowess, resorted to tactics of desperation: blockades, mass starvation, and the wholesale destruction of farms. Their aim? To break the indomitable spirit of the Biafran people—a more versatile and resilient adversary whose defiance burned .
Outnumbered, outgunned, and hemmed in by blockades, the warriors of Biafra stood unshaken. The 3rd Marine Division of Nigeria, a once-proud force, was obliterated by over 90%. The mighty 1st Division was brought to its knees, reduced by half, and the so-called 2nd Division of the Nigerian military was annihilated not once, not twice, but thrice. Their general, disgraced and defeated, fled into exile—a fugitive until the war’s bitter end.
The scars of Biafra’s vengeance still fester in the ranks of Nigeria's former leaders. Some bear physical wounds that never healed; others remain prisoners of nightmares, their minds shattered by the horrors inflicted by and upon them. The weight of their failure hangs heavy, as they cling precariously to life, tormented by memories of a foe they could not conquer.
Were it not for the treacherous interference of Britain, Egypt, and the Soviet Union, who armed and sustained Nigeria’s dying cause, history would have consigned that hapless entity to oblivion. Nigeria would have crumbled into dust and ridicule, its name spoken only in mockery as the greatest humiliation of the 20th century.
Nigeria might never be this lucky again, not even The Ukrainian military has been able to achieve 1% of what Biafra military achieved in tge battle field and laboratories.
During the war for survival and sovereignty, Biafran ingenuity rewrote the rules of science and warfare under the direst conditions. Long before the world embraced the concept of modular refineries, Biafran scientists designed and operated mobile refineries, producing essential fuel to power our resistance. We pioneered the conversion of palm oil into usable fuel—a groundbreaking achievement realized under wartime duress. Decades later, the world took notice, with Indonesia heralding a similar innovation 50 years after Biafra had already mastered it.
In the realm of defense, Biafra gave birth to the Ogbunigwe, a weapon of devastating precision that humbled the Nigerian military. This indigenous creation tamed their advancing forces, showcasing the brilliance of Biafran innovation. Decades later, the United States would achieve a comparable feat with the Javelin missile against Russian forces, but it was Biafra that first demonstrated how ingenuity could level the playing field against a superior force.
These accomplishments were not merely acts of survival but milestones in human innovation, achieved against all odds and under relentless siege.
Igbo scholars and historians are not telling the Biafran story.
Had the objectives of Biafra been realized, we would have witnessed the emergence of a technologically advanced, self-reliant African nation, pioneering innovations in energy, defense, and industrial development while serving as a beacon of resilience, unity, and progress across the continent.
Lol...😁😁😁 This is the archetype revision of history full of lies and propaganda, an exercise in empty chest beating. There is no tribe in Nigeria with the propensity to ignite trouble and play the victim at the same time like the Ibo.
Jamiuokolaa: Imagine that your goose shît for bed, you now ask am say why e dey do like that, only for it respond say sebi your previous goose dey shít for bed too
It means same shit. Just a different toilet. I don't want to get into any arguments this morning. I can understand the agenda but this time it will not work. The players are simply NOT good enough for United standard and the sooner this is acceptable the better for everyone. These are players purchased by Ten Hag. Amorim has not bought a single player. He is trying to fit Ten Hags players into his system and at times it will work and at certain times it may not work. Patience is key in this situation. It is not an immediate fix. This season is probably an experiment. Tearing hair out and cursing is not going to change anything as far as I can see. Apparently Amorim is sticking to his system that he believes can give him success. The players that humble themselves and buy into the system will remain at the club while the recalcitrant ones will be shown the door. How can a team play without a spine? There is the dodgy goalkeeper between the posts. The short centre half in defence and a centre forward who finds it difficult to hold up play or score goals. That sums up United in a nutshell. A mid table team living on past glory.
Give him time, yes. But stop justifying it. It's embarrassing.
No one is justifying anything. The person I responded to was trying to pretend this was the first time United had lost to Bournemouth at home. I was simply reminding him that in December last year under Ten Hag United lost to the same Bournemouth by 3-0 at Old Trafford. The truth is bitter but the sooner people accept that most of these players are not good enough and that United are a mid table team in the 13th position with a minus-1 goal difference the better for everyone. Fans need to accept that Amorim has a massive reorganisation job on his hands.
Jamiuokolaa: This is why i have issues with the "na preseason we go use this season do", "we need to rebuild", "the squad is rubbish", "we need to implement style of play" mantras being bandied about here...
The above mentality, na im dey make peeps to dey justify 0-3 home losses to Bournemouth.
Imagine being told that Bournemouth manager is one of the most sought after managers in the league
Defeats/bad results wouldn't help ANY manager..embarrassing ones make it worse!
I hope you remember that last season under Ten Hag,Manchester United lost 3-0 at home to this same Bournemouth under Iraola. This rot did not start this season.
