Thank you Zoey1: Lagos VFS uses ZAF/LOS now , not SALA. As per the tracking it’s their website not the number given to you. If you didn’t subscribe for SMS call the VFS on +234 815 018 8800 and they will tell you the current status of your application. For the number to be trackable remove the slashes in between, but then people haven’t been able to track recently. |

Thank you so much. It really helps Bolaji16: I had similar issue. It's seems there is something wrong with the tracking system. However, if you paid for Courier services during your application. The tracking number given to you by the courier service provider (in my own case GIG Logistics) will be of great help. It'll only tell you where your application is at a given time and not the outcome/result of the application.
Also, if you subscribed for mail and/or SMS service, you will also be updated on the application status (whether it is at VFS office or at the Consulate's Office and vice versa)
Hope this helps. |

Good day House,
Please assist me with info, I applied for my child's visa this month (October) at VFS Lagos and the reference/tracking number given to me started with ZAF/LOS/..... instead of SALA/..... Now, I can not track the application using ZAF/LOS/..... because the digits are too long, also when I changed it to SALA/.... it says NO RECORD FOUND. I have contacted VFS but to no avail. Has anybody experienced something similar? Please assist on what to do? Is there another VFS tracking platform or an update in reference number.
Thank you. |

My NOC is 2121 - Biologist and related scientist. Thank you Comoteye: What is your occupation? You might be lucky to get a notification of interest from some provinces if your occupation is in demand. I will suggest you dive in the pool and wait. |

Thank you so much for the information and candid advice. God bless you. BlestHanneSSG: Sir, it's the age that's done you strong thing! Just imagine, between age 30 and 38, that's a whopping 40points loss!! To be frank 440s won't cut it these days unlike in 2018/early 2019. The good news is all hope isn't lost. You can look in the direction of; 1. PNP: By going through the websites of the provinces that accept applications, you can determine if your NOC is in-demand, then put in an app. Some of these provinces also run other streams you can benefit from. There is also a thread here on Nairaland that you can follow. 2. French/TEF: Nothing is too difficult to sacrifice when it comes to this journey, especially if you've come too far to call it quits. A beginner can learn French from scratch to a B2 level which, after you've sat for TEF, can fetch you at least 40points more. Max out your IELTS and pick the fourth score from top for each module of TEF (selected as a second language after IELTS) when simulating again using the CRS tool. You'll be encouraged at your score and that should be a boost in deciding to start learning French ASAP. All the best now. |

Hello House, thank you for the awesome job done on this platform. I need your expert advice on Express Entry. My IELTS results was received earlier today 9,7,7,8 (LRWS) and my calculated CRS score is 441. Even if I max-out on IELTS , it will still be 447. Currently, EE has a cut-off of > 471. What do you advice me to do? Applicant info _ Male, Age: 38, Marital status: separated, Education: Doctorate; Work experience: 3 years or more

@ Johnnybravo., I's sent you a PM, Hope you've received it. johnnybravo1990: Congrats! There’s no way they could have given you less than a 7.5 in writing. For the fact I had to coach you for 2 weeks on two separate occasions, making it 4 weeks altogether, there’s no way there wouldn’t have been a Johnnybravo imprint in your writing style. Thanks for sharing your story and assisting me in gradually moving my ‘ministry to the permanent site’. We are almost there. . I am also glad I was able to polish your speaking. I remember the mock speaking test we did over the phone, and at a point in section 2, you mumbled, ‘I am stuck’. But I kept mute as I chose to to keep the mock test as formal as possible so you could have the real experience as this was your first IELTS exam. I am glad all our efforts paid off. Definitely an 8.5 in speaking says it all. It gives me joy. And thanks to Seun’s Nairaland for putting up a platform where we can all assist ourselves.
No time. Oya inbox me: religionnascam@outlook.com
Bros, shey you see that email on top so. Feel free to chat me.
It’s on the pipeline. It will soon be out.
Thank you so much for putting your confidence in my ability to deliver, and thanks for sharing your story. I appreciate. |

blissnenye: Congratulations sis. Your result is just beautiful and to think this is even your first attempt. Thank God the timing worked. I remember at first, you struggled to finish task 2 in 40mins, sometimes you almost felt like crying and i will tell you not to beat yourself up as i know you will get better as we progressed. See you today scoring 7.5 in writing while finishing in 30mins. Isn't that awesome. Am happy to be a part of your success story. At 480+, just sit and sip your wine while you patiently wait for your evaluation to be complete after which you will just stroll into the pool and stroll out with your ITA, not jumping this time. Hello @blissnenye, I need help/coaching with IELTS writing and speaking. Can you kindly help me out. I'm sitting for IELTS soon. Please reply. Thank you. |

Gtessy: Please am interested in the materials graciouslymine@gmail.com quote author=boco2126 post=73293040]On this IELTS issue...my two cents.
LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.
3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address. For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.
4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.
5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.
4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!
5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.
6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.
This too shall pass!
All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post. Please, I'm interested in the material bido2bido@gmail.com Thank you. |

joo2018: Yes, you must include her.
Not including will not only affect sponsoring her in future, it is also misrepresentation and can affect your PR/Citizenship status in future.
She can be in your application as non-accompanying. Parley with her mother. Worst case scenario if you still can't get access, you add her but explain you couldn't get access. But try first. Thank you so much. |

Good morning house,
I am new on this thread but I have gotten a lot of information within my short time of visiting this thread. Thanks for all the information.
Please house, I need clarification on one thing. I intend to apply for EE soon, I have a daughter which I intend adding as my dependant but the mother and I are not in good terms. In fact I don't have full access to my daughter.
The question is should I include my daughter in my application or should I apply alone? Knowing fully well that I am the only that intends traveling now and coming back for my daughter in the future. if I don't declare that I have a dependant will it affect her chances in future?
Thank you for your candid advice. |

If the 'wife of the president' were present and then started making speeches like your 'former first lady-Patience Goodluck', you and your cohorts will still complain. Kindly keep your negativity with you. We've had enough!
This isn't business as usual any more. Aisha Buhari probably had more important jobs to do e.g facing her career, as we know yesterday was a work day.

simple business strategies in lay man's language...
I supply you, issue you an invoice, make sure it's signed by the department that collected the order. I do not supply again until you must have cleared your first debts...
I cannot for the life of me keep supplying and supplying 'cos contracts are difficult to come by and not get at least 70%(which should cover cost of purchase, logistics and little profit) of what you owe me initially..
Truth is one does not even learn these simple nitty gritty strategies anywhere. It's innate or take for instance in this kind of situation you learn from experience which can be costly... |
