Vincent88: Hello NR I'm very sorry for bothering you again. I have a big problem and really need your advice please , no insult. My life has been destroyed lately by a woman with whom I had a one night stand on the 3rd of October. I was stressed out because my wife left me so I went out to night club to drink and met the lady there. I wore protection and did everything safely , I didnt enjoy her but I pretended I did , I didnt even like her and wished to hear no more from her , she then texted me 2 days ago to say she is pregnant, her text shocked me within seconds and I texted her that there was no way she could be pregnant. She said she 1000% I'm responsible for her pregnancy and she needed money for antenatal. I rang her and suggested to meet and talk and I suggested to take her to hospital, she refused this and said she needed the money for hospital that she would go on her own. She said she needs 250k and I must pay up fast. I telephoned her to talk everything but she just kept shouting and threatening that if I didn't pay up quickly she would expose me to my wife and in laws which I dont want her to do that because I'm trying my best to bring my wife back and I dont want her to know about this. I told my close friend in desperation and he thinks that this girl Is lying and blackmailing me. I have agreed to pay her 250k and for her to leave me alone until the baby is born they we do DNA, but my friend told me to not paying her yet but I'm scared she will go to my wife but u want to pay her and sorted. I'm destroyed and stressed out to bits over all this and it has been the worst 2 days of my life. I know it was very safe sex and I regretted it, I wish I didn't go out or get drunk on that day. She is trying to blackmail you. Any law enforcement agency can help you sort this lady out. |

Ate you saying these greenhouses fold up because of lack of maintenance or due to non-profitability? I am saying that whoever was operating the greenhouse didn't know what they where doing. If you are traveling to Warri from Lagos and you follow the bypass express you will see the huge greenhouses being operated by an investor there. If it is not profitable then why would one invest so much in it? |

opelyem: I am so much interested in this farming system. I even got an acre of land for this purpose. However, when I travel around the country, I see a lot of abandoned greenhouses. Of recent, I saw another one that was really functional being closed down. Please, is it because it is not profitable? I need contributions from expert please. The other time I found a supplier of greenhouse materials, he was begging me for a job, saying I am a big man. This has been delaying me from going into farming. Our problem in Nigeria is we don't want to do the work but we want to reap the benefit. Yes greenhouse farming is profitable if done the right way. |

sheubaba2013: IKERE GORGE DAM, A BLESSING TO OUR GENERATION.
Ikere is a town located in Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State Nigeria. It is about 28km North East Iseyin. The town is a home to the popular Ikere Gorge Dam. It is located on the Ogun river with a reservoir capacity of about 690 million meter cube.
I have visited the Ikere Gorge Dam on more than three occasions, the last time I visited the Dam was 12th of August, 2019 which is the second day of Eid Al-Adha (Festival of Sacrifice). The trip was led by the Hon. President of Iseyin Youth Development Group (IYDG) in person of Hon. Babajide Oniyo, Hon. Shina Peller, my humble self Sakariyau Tijani Sheu (Sheubaba) and the entire members of IYDG. The theme of this year program was "Convergence season 3/ Developmental Tour". We paid a visit to the Ado Awaye Iyake suspended lake and later proceeded to Ikere George Dam both in Iseyin LGA.
Iseyin Youth Development Group (IYDG) aim is the way forward for the development of Iseyin, Oke Ogun and the entire Nigeria at large, therefore Ikere George Dam must not be abandoned. Charity begins at home.
A Dam is a barrier that stops or restrict the flow of water or underground stream. -Wikipedia Some Dams are constructed to change the direction of river water flow into channel, canal, pipeline etc.
George is a narrow valley between hills or mountains typically with steep rocky walls and a stream running through it. The term is obtained from the French word "Gorge" which means throat or neck. A George is often smaller than Canyon, although both can be used to describe deep, narrow valleys with a stream or river running along their base.
Ikere Gorge Dam has been abandoned for so long. It is the second largest Dam in Nigeria, but it has been a long forgotten dream. The Ikere Gorge Dam was first established by the Military regim of Ex President Olusegun Obasanjo and it was set up in 1983 by the then administration of Alhaji Shehu Shagari. Ikere Gorge Dam was initially planned to generate 6 Megawatts of Electricity.
Furthermore, Dam can also supply water for Iseyin, Iganna, Okeho, Lagos etc. Among the the plans was also for Irrigation purpose of about 12,000 hectares of land. According to findings, some equipments has been purchased as at then by the Government, they has been kept at the site for the Hydro Power component of the Dam and has not yet been installed. According to experts the project will take up to 3 to 4 months to be completed.
Ikere Gorge Dam can be developed for aquaculture, I even bought some fishes on our way back from the site visitation. It can create over 1,500 jobs for the youths, production capacity of over one million tonnes of fish annually if fully utilized.
There is no mobile network in the area, we are unable to make or receive calls throughout the visitation.
The 35km access road that lead to the Dam is appalling, the road need to be fixed for easy access.
Conclusively, we the Iseyin Youth Development Group (IYDG) on my humble behalf are calling on the Federal Government of Nigeria to put the Ikere Gorge Dam in good shape for the purpose of Hydro power generation, Irrigation, aquaculture etc. At the other hand the government should also harness the tourism potential of the Ado-Awaye Iyake suspended lake which is the second suspended lake in the world after the Colorado suspended lake in the USA. "I am convinced that Nigeria would have been a more highly developed country without the oil. I wished we had never smelled the fumes of petroleum" -Prof Wole Soyinka. God bless Iseyin, God bless Nigeria.
Ikere Gorge Dam! The second largest Dam in Nigeria. Ikere Gorge Dam! The time is now. Ikere Gorge Dam! No more further delay Ikere Gorge Dam! The untapped blessing Ikere Gorge Dam! A blessing to our generation Ikere Gorge Dam! A gift from God Almighty
By SAKARIYAU TIJANI SHEU aka SHEUBABA I like this development . It would be nice if you posted some pictures as well |

kingzfarms: Thanks a lot for reaching out, There are two things I always tell people starting up small businesses; 1. consider your immediate environment 2. Consider your interest
1. because you have limited capital you should consider the needs of your immediate environment and your target market so you can start up a business that meets those needs and generate profit for you.
2. Whatever business you are starting up, limited capital will be frustrating but your interest will motivate you, so don't just choose a business but goose one that you have passion for and when things are tough it becomes easy to encourage yourself and pull through.
That being said with 50 - 100, 000 1. Sales: Buying different products and commodities and selling in areas where they are not readily available 2. You can set up a laundry business 3. school runs, taking kids in your area to school and bringing them back home. some private schools don't have transport facilities, and some parents can afford to pay up to 5,000 monthly per child, but you have to be popular and trusted in your area 4. Producing local drinks like zobo and kunu, with good packaging and selling in social gatherings around you 5. setup a mini restaurant/eatery- Grills etc. 6. if you have interest in Agriculture -Vegetable farming, (any type of vegetable sells in the city) you can lease land for vegetable farming at 10, 000 for one year. really some of us looking for jobs in lagos even have plots of land in our hometown, some in ogun and other neighboring states, let's go back invest in this land and make money,
-Snail Farming, very easy to start up, and is less time demanding
-Smoked fish production, all you need is a local smoking kiln medium size, fish, spices, and packaging materials
-Buying Agric products like yam, plantain, palm oil etc from the villages that produce them and selling in the city
i know it sounds too easy or its easier said than done but in truth the opportunities are inexhaustible, just look at your environment, there Is something you can start up, Nigeria is a market, our population is an Avenue to make money.
As a youth corper about 6 years ago, the village where I served produce very big plantains, all through my nysc I was buying plantain at ridiculously low prices directly from this farmers, transporting in pick up trucks and selling in lagos, after service I was able to start my plantain farm in that village on 10 plots paying in installment, but today the plantain farm is over 30 acres fully paid for. I have been able to properly setup my business and have expanded my farm network to ibadan also, I started transporting plantain with less than 70,000 now I have 18 full time staff and over 50 casual contract workers on my payroll. Because I am interested in farming I was determined to make it and i have only just started. ake it and i have only just started. I am in need of assistance . Please which state is your farm located? |
