Ọmọ nah Jesus talk that one and Jehovah also said something similar {Revelations 1:8} both of them that knew the beginning of evil {Proverbs 8:22-30} and it's certain that only the two can say they will surely see the end of all badness that's the meaning of BEGINNING and END.

Evil began when all the angels (sons of God) were praising Him for a job well done regarding creation {Job 38:7} and Satan wasn't happy that all the glory belongs to One person he also wants such praises so he began scheming rebellion against God that was the beginning of evil.

Neither God nor Jesus will end it's evil that has a beginning and must also have an end as it's not part of God's purpose.
Hahaha!

Chai! Olaadegbu, how are you coping with these sets of people?

Someone said "I am the First and the Last..", Maxindhouse changed His statement to "I see the begining of evil and the end of evil." What type of devilry is this!

How is 'I am the first and the last' the same as , 'I see the begining and the end of evil'? All you devils will certainly have your days in hell except you repent! May the judgement of God fall on the stony heads of you deceivers!

GREATER WORKS is what Jesus said his disciples will do so if you can't find such then you have misapplied the scriptures period.
Meanwhile my own religion has done lots of greater works than Jesus did!
I will still tell you for the upteenth time that Jesus didn't say your religion will do greater works. He said 'you', not your religion.

And I've given you clues to where you'll see many individuals who have done many greater works as Jesus promised. It's a promise if Jesus and He has fulfilled that promise. Read the book 'God's Generals'. Or you wait for me to Livestream the manifestation of God's power towards atheists in the coming days.

What signs follow your religion? Where are the miracles of Christ in your congregations? Where is the proof of the anointing? Where is the power? The kingdom of God is not within you if you're simply doing what anybody can do.

Read again 1Cor. 4:19, Luke 21:17 and Acts 10:38!if you missed anything.

My dear, I believe you can read and write English. If you really do, go and sit down to this discussion and see how disjointed to the discussion your request is.

Jesus said you would do greater works. If you're not doing greater works, it's either because you're ignorant or you're not a true follower of Jesus. Not because Jesus lied.

As I said earlier, I mentioned you for your education and not for argument. So, have a nice day.

Guy i don't want useless arguments.

My religion has done GREATER WORKS than Jesus did but if you feel that's not what Jesus meant then present or mention any individual who has done it.

Perhaps you think Jesus lied if you can't point to any individual who has done that! cheesy
Guy, Jesus didn't say your religion will do greater works. Please be informed. Jesus said 'you' will do greater works. Not your religion. If you don't understand what I mean, take the book 'God's Generals' and read. Maybe you'll understand. Or wait for a time when I shall free up my table to start showing greater works to atheists by visiting their homes and having encounters streamed and posted to Nairaland. Perhaps you would understand.

Jesus described the signs that'll follow those who believe. To the best of my knowledge, the signs are not following you, neither are they following your so called religion.

Here's how Paul said he'll identify true believers in 1 Corinthians 4:19:

"But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only what these arrogant people are saying, but what power they have."

And here's how Peter described Jesus' works in Acts 10:38:

"And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him."

But if you still don't understand it, don't bother. I am only here to educate you, not to argue with you. You might understand some day if you open your heart to the true Jesus.

What GREATER WORKS has any human or group of humans did than that which Jesus did? undecided
I don't answer irrelevant questions.

There's no human being who I can set as my yardstick above what Jesus said I should do or not do. Whether anyone did it or not is not my problem. Jesus didn't ask me to look for any man who has done what He said I should do before I do it.

Christianity has nothing to say or do with other religions so true Christians don't preach against other religions it's our teachings that exposes falsehood and since false religions was built on the learner in Christianity will discern that we are not on the same page with other religions but speaking against them in the public is totally unchristian because there is freedom of speech, expression and worship.
As Christians our speech publicly should not be offensive {Matthew 10:16} there is nothing that could make any religion attack true Christians because we have nothing against worshipers of other religions and we don't go about condemning them for their beliefs it's only interested persons who gives us their times to study with us that can see the difference not everyone since we don't shout in their streets! Matthew 12:19
Is there power in your religion? Christianity without power is not Christianity. If that's your brand of Christianity, then I'm afraid, you've been sold a fake Jesus.

"For the Kingdom of God is not by word but by power." 1 Corinthians 4:20.

And this Kingdom of God is within every believer (Luke 17:21). By it, we command the 'Greater Works Jesus talked about.

IbileIfe:
Happy 91st Birthday Prof. Wole Soyinka
The Lion of African Literature

Why Soyinka Believes in Traditional Yoruba Religion Against Christianity

Wole Soyinka born on July 13, 1934, is a renowned Nigerian playwright, poet, novelist, and essayist. He is celebrated for his literary achievements and his outspoken activism against political oppression, which led to imprisonment and exile. He was the first African to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1986.

The Yoruba Ijebu Egungun Masquerade That Fell the Anglican Church of Rev. J. J. Ransome Kuti

Anglican priest, the Reverend J. J. Ransome Kuti carried out his ministry in defiance of the traditional priests with total confidence, as vividly described by Wole Soyinka in his autobiography, "Aké: The Years of Childhood"

"… Rev J.J. was away on one of his many mission tours. He travelled a lot, on foot and on bicycle, keeping in touch with all the branches of his diocese and spreading the Word of God. There was frequent opposition but nothing deterred him.

One frightening experience occurred in one of the villages in Ijebu. He had been warned not to preach on that particular day, which was the day for an egungun outing, but he persisted and held a service. The egungun procession passed while the service was in progress and using his ancestral voice, called on the preacher to stop at once, disperse his people and come out to pay obeisance. Rev J.J. ignored him
eople and come out to pay obeisance. Rev J.J. ignored him.

The egungun then left, taking his followers with him but, on passing the main door, he tapped on it with his wand three times. Hardly had the last member of his procession left the church premises then the building collapsed. The walls simply fell down and the roof disintegrated.

Miraculously however, the walls fell outwards - anywhere but on the congregation itself. Rev J.J. calmed the worshippers, paused in his preaching to render a thanksgiving prayer, then continued his sermon."
Today, in the midst of the revelation of God's power and how men can walk in it, the egungun cannot try the nonsense with a true Church of God. Especially if the assembly is a Pentecostal assembly with a true man of God overseeing the assembly. The house itself would have been anointed and dedicated to God Almighty before any service is conducted in it. So, if the egungun taps it as he did in this story, then, two things could happen:

1. He could immediately come face to face with God's wrath. Anything could happen to him on the spot. Nothing will happen to the building.

2. Nothing may happen to him if God decides to overlook his actions. This will depend on how wicked he has been in this world before that day. Nothing will happen to the building too.

Ignorance is the power the devil has over any Believer in Christ. "The people who know their God shall be strong and shall do exploits." The more knowledgeable you are as a Christian, the more ascendancy you have over the powers of hell.

I believe it will be a sweet addition to your family like ours were. Dogs and most animals in general are intelligent and feeling creatures, who are capable of kindness, love and friendship like we humans are.

Just make sure to treat it well, like you would treat someone you cared about and know that there's a difference between pet dogs and guard dogs. You don't get a pet dog then expect it to serve as a guard dog as well.

Vet visits and bills will be an additional expense to prep and plan for as well.
Okay. Thank you very much.

I've taken note of everything.

The puppies in that your picture look like cross breeds of wolf and dog, and I do not know how safe or friendly they might be with kids or neigbhours when they grow up.
Please seek professional advice before you buy and put them in your house. Consult a veterinary doctor and dog experts

Eskimos are generally very wonderful pets to own. I have 2 myself and they are a big part of my life.

Eskimos are very intelligent dogs, one of the most intelligent I have ever owned. They can be stubborn at times if you are not firm with them, and noisy too. Make sure you get them enough exercise during the day; they easily get bored and will entertain themselves by destroying anything in sight. They are playful and friendly if properly groomed. Also, be ready to find white hairs everywhere in your house if you intend for the dog to be indoors, especially if your couch is not leather. My dog has gone everywhere with me in this life through her hair, plane o, bus o, train o, boat o, everywhere, until i discovered i needed to be brushing the hair often to remove dead hairs, since then, it has reduced drastically.

They are also very selective dogs, they select what to eat a lot.

I am only reminding everyone of Nairaland rules, incase they forget. grin grin grin
Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

You have further whetted my appetite. I didn't know that Eskimos are so wonderful.

Hello Pet lovers,

My son has been disturbing me to get him an Eskimo puppy. I have been reluctant about the request because of the dangers they may pose.

But I chances upon some Eskimo puppies yesterday in Ibadan, and they're very beautiful and adorable. I'm tempted to buy.

The seller is quoting 150k. Am I getting it at a good price? Do you think Eskimos are harmless with nothing to fear about the furure? These puppies whose photos appear below are almost 5 months old. What advice do you have for me please? Are there any medical precautions I must take?

Thanks in advance.

I get your point and they are valid. However, I have since to realize that truth or lack of in a events in themselves don't matter, even if the truth came from Jehovah or Jesus himself. Whatever Jw leaders thinks the truth is, is what the truth is. And it's what the following will believe. Period.

I repeat, a Jehovah or Jesus can stand on earth today, says this is A. The jw leaders aka Governing body will say, it's B. The majority of the following will take B. Nothing else matters.
Honestly, you're right. I have always wondered why some people hold on to lies even when truth started them in the face.

I, as a person has constantly had the need to review my stand on certain issues of doctrine whenever I'm faced with real truth from the scriptures. I consider myself very knowledgeable in scriptures but my allegiance is to the truth and not to doctrines. However, I have discovered that many humans are like what you described. This is not just about the JWs. Even the Muslims and atheists. They would just turn a blind eye and pretend nothing happened while they continue in their false beliefs. It seems they have the notion that that what you believe does not matter. 'You're free to believe anything you want. Just believe something and hold on to it.' A very dangerous notion that has eternal consequences.

Secondly your empty booast that you have read the Bible from cover to cover several more times than me is just an attempt to score cheap beanie points. It is not how many times you read but did you comprehend what you claim to have read. However from your attitude on this thread I seriously doubt this.
As I told you when all this back and forth began this is Nairaland.com where the wrong poster always claims to be right and you come across as a typical example of this.
It is no big deal to accept you do not know something because that is the simplest way to attain knowledge.Several times during this exchanges I posted Bible books, chapters and verses but in your know it all attitude, you refused to check these passages and kept on blundering all over the thread.
And as per your jibe about reading the Bible several times more than me,I just chuckle and laugh out loud because from your performance on this thread,I assure you that where your knowledge of the Bible ends is where my own knowledge begins.
My last response to you on this minute issue.
You must have mistaken me for someone else. I had no single argument with you, neither did I lecture you on any matter regarding incest as a topic. Always check monikers before you respond to people. Go through our conversations. And if you're noble enough, apologize for your error.

Oga,
Nobody is talking about the Tamar in 2nd Samuel Chapter 13 who was abused by her brother Amon.

The Tamar we are talking about is found in Genesis chapter 38 who disguised herself as a prostitute to engage in incestuous relationship with her father in law Judah.

Argument is NOT knowledge. Educate yourself please. The Bible is a vast book and many names are mentioned in different books severally. I expect you to read the different chapters mentioned and enlighten yourself and while at it try to understand the concept of incestuous relationships. Incest is not judged on guilt but sexual relationships between same family members. However I won't be surprised if you come back with more arguments after all this is Nairaland.com where the WRONG is always the RIGHT!
Oh, my bad!

You're talking about the one that seduced Jacob her father-in-law, pretending to be a prostitute.

Can you define incest?
The answer is in your post. Lol....😉

Your second assignment is to go and read Genesis chapter 38 because your premise is already flawed. Genesis 38 is the story of the incestuous relationship between a father in law and a daughter in law. Happy reading!
Can you define robbery? If someone robbed somebody, is it the robbed that committed robbery or the robber?

Tamar rejected her brother's advances but being weaker, was forced and raped. How can you accuse her of incest when she didn't make the move or willfully engaged in it?
