I think you need to define what you understand by morality. Most of the examples you raised are not moral issues at all. Empathy is not morality. Conscience is not necessarily moral. There are many people who genuinely and sincerely do immoral things simply because they did not know they were wrong. Their consciences never condemned them. The conscience guides only on the basic forms of morality. But morality itself goes far beyond the basicity of the conscience. And, actually, don't start thinking that serial killers and armed robbers were never told or taught while growing up that such things are not good. I find your argument that "if you tell a child that stealing is wrong, he will not steal" very amusing.

That's why you still need to honestly answer the questions Sirtee15 threw you.

I was posted to a state for my nysc in those days, there I met a girl at mammy Market where I always went to eat cos those watery stuffs at the kitchen no dey appeal to me. Barely a month after the prayer, I was invited by one of the foremost companies in Ikeja for job interview. I met crowd there who were also applicants. In the end, I got the job. How did it happen? A guy was asked to give me an interview letter from lagos. Then I was staying with my brother in ibadan. May God punish me if I'm fabricating this story... he was asked to give me the letter in person and he must not return to lagos unless I acknowledge the letter. He didn't meet me at home. My people searched everywhere for me. I went to see an uncle cos boredom wan kill me for house and I was tired of applying for jobs. By the time I came back, my people mobbed me asking where have I gone to? They gave me the number to call cos the guy had gone somewhere but promised to come back later. I called him and he was ranting on phone. I asked him to calm down cos I never remembered if I actually applied to that company. Its been a long time. So, we met and I acknowledged the letter, he now left.

I got the job to the glory of God. One day my boss invited me and said, for some reason I withheld your application after shortlisting. We had employed the first batch some months but I didn't have rest of mind so I asked them to invite you. I was among the few employed. I applied genuinely through guardian newspaper while others came in through man know man. Guardian was the major newspaper where people used to apply for jobs in those days cos there was no Internet.

There I met my wife whom I married as a virgin, a year after, I travelled to America for training and came back, joined another great company . I was changing jobs like shoes before I finally established my own company in which I'm doing very well by God's grace. Its very popular in Nigeria today. I come to nairaland to comment at my leisure cos I don't share my time with any oga. I be oga of myself.

There was a colleague of mine who was living with a girl while in school as if they're married. I graduated before him. He had a reference in one cheap course like that. He said she had had several disappointments in her relationship so she went to a herbalist who made incisions in her private part and said whoever met her next would be caught in the Web and bondage and he'd not leave until he married her.

He said that's the reason for all the setbacks he's been having. He prayed for him, asked him to go and fast for 7 days . When he finished, he now warned him never to set his eyes on her again. This guy graduated and served successfully. Today, he's a citizen in the USA. Fear women and sex. Hate it with passion. God bless

The true God doesn't want His creatures in hell. So, he waits patiently for them to repent. He'll judge them anytime they die so, why kill them so soon? Allah does not have the power to judge anybody. That's why he wants them killed now now because that's the only way he could punish. He can't cast anyone to hell.

I was once discussing with a Muslim on this forum. Ohyoudidnt to be precise . I pointed out the numerous bloodshed committed by their prophet and what boko-haram is doing currently. He was in denial and trying to paint Mohammed good. I asked him to condemn Boko haram. He refused. I pressured him severely in mentions to him to condemn Boko haram to prove that Islam does not condone bloodshed, he blatantly refused to condemn Boko haram. Since that day, I came to understand how very dangerous a Muslim can be.

The British eventually employed a different tactics for the Yoruba. Taking advantage of the internal crises, they supported different factions against others. And when their supported section wins, they started ruling through the king of the winning faction, using subtilty. Yorùbá was not subjugated like they did other tribes. They came in as friends, helped in war, exchange trades, and then, ruled by proxy until colonialism became deeply entrenched.

Oyo empire ruled vast lands in an empire that lasted 600yrs, and was only defeated by the British in the late 1800s. The only luck the British had was that the Yorubas were engaged in internal wars among themselves as at the time the British invaded. The war would have extended much further into the 1900s.

The numerous civil wars within the Yoruba people at the time enabled the British to confront the Yoruba in sections and not as a whole army. Yet, the war still extended till 1918 when they fought the Adubi war in Ẹgba land.
