Is that how things are done in All Embassy or is it only Portugal Embassy? If school is resuming September and someone fills for Visa processing since Feb without knowing whats up or how far they've gone for 3 good months is a total time wasted.
Am yet to hear from the Lawyer and its more than 3 months now.. even those that applied for the visa are yet to get the visa (abi una done get am keep mute?).
What can I do now? |

Siena: Hi ladies and gents!
It's been a while since I visited the Travel section. A belated Happy Easter to all.
I have a 16-year-old cousin back in Nigeria, who I am looking to invite to the UK. Her dad is deceased, so her only immediate family is her younger sister and her mother, who incidentally is not finding things easy, financially or emotionally.
She wants to come to the UK, and I am prepared to support her application, passport and visa fees. I have spoken with my aunt in great length, and she admitted it would be a great weight off her shoulders, leaving her with just one younger child to cater for.
Now I am not sure how it all works. Do I invite my cousin over:
Initially as a visitor, on a tourist visa. May God help you for this great gesture. As a dependant. As a student (meaning I would have to get her into college here, not sure of the logistics though)
She would definitely need to carry on with her studies though, if her stay is to be lengthy.
I have a good, stable job, so I'm not dependent upon the State. I earn good money, have the space too. I am married with 3 children, and my wife is also in support of me filing for my cousin. I would really appreciate some pointers from the more experienced in cases such as this, either professionally, or from personal experience. Ask me about automobile-related issues, and I can recite chapter and verse, even in my sleep.
But in terms of immigration issues, I'm a green horn.
Thanks in advance for your valuable contributions. |

Romance › Re: Big Booty Chics...how Embarassing?! by gowaga68: 9:26am On May 13, 2015 |
ahsekeena: This thread is dedicated to the girls with big butts.
I'm a big booty chic, and I've had quite a number of embarrassing events as a result of this.
Just yesterday I went to civic centre at ozumba mmbadiwe to meet with a client, parked my car,got out and was heading to the managers office with my client. I saw a couple coming behind me,from the way they dressed I could tell they were yoruba. I hadn't taken more than 15 steps when I started hearing "shameless man,u have no shame,u can't even hide ur dirty behaviour, emi o blame e,awon omo esu yii naa ni pelu Aso rada rada to n wo "
Turned around to see it was the woman whom I noticed earlier, she was addressing her husband. She must have been in her early 40s ,I guess and her husband, mid 50s.
Lol,apparently, her husband had been gawking....at my butt. I was wearing a pair of white leggings and a white top, nothing bad.
After she lashed at her husband(people were already looking), she turned to me and started insulting me,called me indecent, a husband snatcher and how I dressed the way I did to lure men away from their wives. From her utterances,I could tell she was an "omo eko".
I stopped right in my tracks, turned to her and cautioned her,the fact that she was older didn't give her the right to talk to me the way she did. I gave her a piece of my mind and walked away, she looked on without saying anything.
Wasn't my fault her husband couldn't keep his eyes off my butt. My silly client just kept laughing.
I've had other embarrassing situations like this but this was just too much. Big booty chics, share ur tales of embarassments. I dont see any thing bad in having big booty.. some even envy them. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: A Genius Answer To A Moral/Ethical Dilemma Asked In A Job Interview by gowaga68: 12:24pm On May 04, 2015 |
unyours: I decide to share this because i believe it will help someone someday.
Whenever we come through ethical dilemma, the chance is that everyone will choose the part that leads to the least harm. Most times, it's a function of ones ability to think [intelligently] outside the box.
Now here's a moral dilemma meant to be solved by 200 applicants in a job interview. You will be marveled when you see the answer the only successful candidate gave. Many wouldn't have reasoned in that line.
You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night. You pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect man (or woman) you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?
Think before you continue reading. _____________________________
This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.
You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first; or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect dream lover again.
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer. I love this. I might actually use it sometime for an interview situation.
He simply answered: “I would give the car keys to my old friend, and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the woman of my dreams.”
Never forget to “Think Outside of the Box.” ____________________________________ My 50kobo advice to all jobseekers: Avoid giving a straight-up answer to interview questions no matter how straight-to-the-point the question is. Always have something to add to spice up your answers and be straight to the point as you do so. Expect all kind of useless questions. Lol. The interview that landed me my job was an interview i got most of what i will call off-point questions like: Are you married? What tribe will you like to marry from? Can you speak Yoruba language? What's your username on nairaland? (I shock!)
Wish you all goodluck

Romance › Re: 5 Smart Ways To Make A Nigerian Lady Marry You. by gowaga68: 2:45pm On Apr 29, 2015 |
RedEboe: 1. Are you a fine boy? Forget all you've heard, the truth is NIGERIAN GIRLS LOVE HANDSOME MEN. Though many do end up with not-too-handsome dudes, and it's not their fault. A lot of good-looking Nigerian men rely more on their looks and invest little in character and other qualities. 'Ugly men' on the other hand invest a lot in character, wealth and other qualities unrelated to their physicaL appearance. If you are a good-looking guy,but also focused more on character, making good money, God etc, A Nigerian girl will pick you ahead others.
2. Be Bold and Blunt: This may sound ridiculous, but a Nigerian single lady will register a total stranger in her subconscious if he walks up to her from nowhere and says, "I think I want to marry you". This does not mean she'll say "Yes" or that you (the stranger) won't get a dirty slap (very unlikely though), she'll most probably laugh, hiss and walk away. This scenario is in the event that you met her at a random public location. If you met this Nigerian lady say in her office, and told her you want to marry her from day one...with subsequent, persistent and follow up visits, she'll say "Yes" in 3 to 6 months.
3. Let your first date be in her parents house: when you've seen a Nigerian lady that you want to marry visit her in her parents or guardian's house first before taking her out to cinemas, malls, beach etc. If she's not staying with parents or guardians, insist on meeting them first (even if dem dey village) . This move/gesture has a psychological effect on Nigerian ladies, makes them let down their guards and take you VERY SERIOUSLY.
4. Ensure your current house is at least a 2 bedroom flat with no male squatters. When a serious Nigerian lady comes to visit you, and she meets a mini-flat with mattresses on the floor and one or two of your guys wearing boxers and 'hailing' her, chances of her marrying you diminishes by 60%. If a more serious suitor walks into her life at that moment, and he lives ALONE in a 2 or 3 bedroom flat, SHE WILL MARRY HIM.
5. If she's already wearing another man's engagement ring then your chances are brighter: Yes, this is a very controversial point but Nigerian ladies that are already engaged tend to be very vulnerable, relationship wise; they tend to feel as though being on the edge of a cliff and waiting for a 'reasonable voice' to tell them "DON'T JUMP". You can end up being that 'reasonable voice' when you fall in love with a Nigerian lady that is already engaged to another man. Hey, she hasn't said "I do" yet, hence all is fair in love and war. If you really love her, take advantage of her vulnerable state of being engaged and sell yourself as a better product. SHE WILL LISTEN and there's a 49% chance that she'd say "Yes" to you. 49% is NOT a bad probability ratio at all considering the circumstances.
Comments and insults are Welcome.
LOL!!! you try |

Destined2win: At least, the comment is from one of them.
If na from another region, it would have caused a hypocritical uproar.
PEJ was wrong to have used the term, "born troway" to describe those kinds of children in question but how can northerners curb that menace?
GEJ set up a school for such people yet hypocrites decided not to see anything good in that.
Who will save the north?
I am sorry to say this, it would be difficult to transform a lot of people in that region no matter how much is invested. Their major problem is MENTALITY. For sustainable transformation to come to that region, they should start by working on their minds! You see how shallow you reason... what makes you think the said person is a Northern or from the said region? kindly give more facts to back your assertions up. |
