Hello good people,

I have tried paying the IHS surcharge of 1680 dollars using paga verve and paga linking my GTB to my paga account but it takes me back to the UK site saying "Error, we are having technical problems"
Is this a problem from the IHS site or is it the paga transaction?
Has anyone had this challenge and how did you pay for your IHS surcharge please?

It happened to my husband also. What we did was to reapply all over again from the scratch. When we got to d IHS again, it didn’t show the technical error again

With plenty prayers fasting and praises...
My passport came out on 6th of November...I was waiting for my visa for more than 50 working days... This week I move by his grace...

I am not sure what is happening I need advice.

I just got an email from my school that the course I was admitted to has been suspended ( mind you I have already paid 4000 pounds and in process of applying for CAS). Though I was offered another course which to me is not a problem.

In the new admission letter it was stated that the course will be conducted ONLINE, and that induction and welcome will be on campus.

Please I am a bit worried, is this not going to be an issue when I finally apply for my visa?

I am thinking of applying to a new school at the moment.

Please I have a HND should anyone with info on schools I can apply to for Masters or PG program in Finance, Accounting or Bus Admin, do send me link.

Maybe you do call during their closing hours. Try call them during their working hours

Most UK schools have like 2 to 3 years plans already. Some schools have 2021/2022 session on their websites and schools fees approved. So if you go to their websites and check for next year session. You will notice that the school fees is higher than this year.

And me I don't want any surprise especially schools that have not posted their next year school fees on their website.I would rather go in September.

Definitely some schools will increase their fees, some will increase it slightly while some will leave it. It depends on their school policy.

But SHU January 2021 tuition fees is the same as September 2020. That’s why I chose January because of the pandemic.

I honestly don’t know about exchange rates, so you would have to enquire. What I am sure about, is their fastness. Like if you go in the morning, before the end of the day you will get debit alert. Next day you get telex copy. They don’t have unnecessary protocols.

I don’t know much about FidelityBank form A payments; I only use their app for euro transactions which is very reliable.

But my brother, don’t even try firstbank.
It’s like going from frying pan to fire.
They will frustrate you with network talk ehnn. Before they process it, till thy kingdom come. Upon that, they will charge you at the rate of whenever they process it not when you submitted the request. If they rate is lower on the processing day, they will now go back and charge you with the higher rate of time you submitted.
They have dealt with me severally. Forget firstbank o.

Some people have had issues also with Stanbic, Standard Chartered and Access. In my personal opinion, it depends on the branch you go to.
First bank and Zenith bank in Victoria Island axis treat FX transactions swiftly.

I asked my friend working at Zenith about the rate Zenith bank will use for Form A payment (tuition fee), he said CBN rate.

In my own opinion, I don’t think embassies ask for the applicant bank account balance. What they do instead is to to call the bank to confirm the authenticity of your account (my friends working in some of the big banks told me so). The bank have no right to disclose one’s account balance to any third parties including embassies without your permission.

If embassy want to confirm if you still have the money in your account, they can request for updated bank statement.

While I was going through this thread, I also saw someone’s comment about why a particular person was banned recently just because he/she asked for prospective students to indicate themselves and current students to create a WhatsApp group (so that students aspiring to go to SHU can learn), all of a sudden the person was banned from the group. I believe that shouldn’t lead to a ban but the admin should have just stated it’s not allowed (like warning that it’s not allowed).

However, @Skymoore has been insulting people several times (including people that advises him to stop that bad habit) but admin didn’t give him a strike.

Well in my personal opinion, the admin(s) are biased.

It largely depends on personal preferences. The 3rd option that I would have chosen if in that situation, is largely based on trying to avoid the initial stress of settling in along with dependants. The dependant can apply immediately the wife's visa is out to cut the waiting time. The husband can start researching jobs available in the school and surrounding areas to make it easier to find a job when he arrives in the UK.

Okay. I feel that the response from LagosismyHome was an apt reply to your questions. No one can tell you the best or most certain way for an applicant and/or dependant to apply visas because a dependant's visa application being approved depends on the T4 applicant passing the credibility checks and having satisfactory documents held in the manner prescribed by UKVI. At the end of the day, it all boils down to your personal preferences.

1. An applicant can apply with or without dependants as long as all the required documents are in order. The dependants' visa is hinged on the T4 applicant's ability to successfully secure a visa so if a Tier 4 student's application is rejected, the dependant's application will be rejected too. If you are certain that you've included everything you need in your application as a student and you're certain that you'd get it (except for an error on the ECO's part), go for this option.

2. This is entirely dependent on if the applicant wants to travel to the UK with his/her dependants. If for any reason, the main Applicant's application is rejected, then this saves the couple some costs as costs expended on visas are non-refundable with the exception of the IHS costs. This is a safe option if the Tier 4 applicant is having mixed feelings about the outcome of the visa application.

3. This option should be adopted if the student would rather go first to sort all the stress that comes with settling down. This also helps the main applicant (student) to explore the new town/city to make it easier for dependants to settle in.

My own personal preferences would be no 3 as this would give me time to settle in without the added stress of looking out for my dependants while still trying to adapt to my new surroundings even though having familiar faces could help allay homesickness in most cases.

What about if the main applicant is a female and will still need her husband to join her and support her. So that as d woman is studying and doing part time job, husband will be working full time.
