Hello All,

Is there a limit to the tuition amount that can be processed through Form A. Need to make a payment of 14.600pound and I have submitted my request to Stanbic IBTC through the CBN portal. I am not sure if there is a limit to how much can be processed. Also, if the limit is lower than the amount I need to pay, would they just approve for the maximum limit? For instance, say limit is 10,000pounds an I have requested for 14,600, would they just approve the 10,000pounds?

I want to be sure they won't decline my request because of that. Information from anyone will be helpful

Dear VO,

Many thanks for your effort on this thread.

Kindly advise on the issue below;

My younger brother's fiancee just got her immigrant visa approved ( The process we learnt they have her parents have been on for almost 14years now). However, they have been planning to get married at the end of this year before but now there is a sort of confusion. They just had their introduction and was planning wedding for december (before the visa was granted).

Now, with the Visa, the girl has to travel by November and we are not sure if the advisable thing is the have the wedding before she travels in November or postpone the wedding till after 6 months after which she would have been on US soil for the 6 months required for her to get her green card and gotten her green card.

Regards

Hello VO,

My parents(both retired and not been out of the country before )applied for visa in March based on invite by an uncle who is a citizen both were denied on the premise that they do not have enough ties. This I do not understand because even though they are both retired, their four children(2 still in university) are in Nigeria so I do not understand what stronger ties they want. Also they both have thriving businesses here. Just want them to go there as a retirement treat....we actually stated that the trip is self sponsored.

Now I want them to reapply and first I want to know when they can reapply (their interview was March 16) and what do you think might be the reason for them been denied and what can be done to guide against another denial.

Thank you

Hi good people,

And so I had my baby at Parker Adventist Hospital in colorado two weeks ago. Baby and mother doing fine. The hospital was okay in terms of service but not very straight forward in terms of bill. Thanks to senior mamas in the house for equipping me with enough info and this forum for teaching one to ask questions until you are sure. I have been on their neck for letter of zero balance since I was discharged but they keep saying they are balancing their books although I have my receipts. It takes time to get your bills here. I have been on the neck of all of those people for bills stating categorically that am returning to my country to no avail. Anyway, am still here hoping to get all resolved. My doctor is very nice (God bless his soul for me). He is the only one with straight forward bills.

Even processing of baby's paper sef na wa. The expedited be like normal day process. Gosh!!!!! This people just take their time

In all, am happy I have my little boy. All others na secondary. God go help us.

Once again, thanks to everyone for the info shared on this forum...... Phema and boldbabe, thanks for the experience shared. I appreciate everyone.

Hello Ma'am,

You dont need to change pediatrician if you dont want to. It all depends on the cost. if you know a very good pediatrician cheaper than the one you used in the hospital then i suggest you change.

Regarding what you need to know post having your baby, I think most of it will come naturally to you. However, be prepared to feel harassed and shed a few tears at some point.... lol... especially when baby is crying at 2am in the middle of the night and you have tried everything in your power to make him stop. Its a phase, it will pass.

Also, dont feel too bad if your baby cries, its natural and there is only so much you can do... so just pray to have a calm spirit and do your very best. And please read...... the internet has so much material post baby and you will benefit tremendously. Infact, you will be surprised that alot of things your baby is going through is totally normal and you can get advise that can help your situation. Different people will give different advise, especially the older generation, you should be able to discern which one is good for you and your baby and which one isnt. No one knows your baby more than you do.

Where it concerns medical issues, please ask your doctor. And trust me, you will do great! There is no hard and fast rule to being a mum or parent.... its a learning process. Just be open to it and it will work out as you go along.

Cheers![/quote

Thank you sis

I also got the sSN exactly 2 weeks after birth.

The zero balance letter just stated that I don't owe the hospital in one line. Hope this is okay and is the letter sufficient? Or do I also require a receipt?

Thanks

does it mean that one doesn't need the SSN to process the passport and visa?

This is coming so late. Abeg no vex.

The hospital I used (MIHS) had an all inclusive package. So, same team of Doctors attended to my son all through our 2day stay. It could be different for other hospitals though.

so after you left the hospital, you didn't take him to any other pediatrician?

Hello mommas and papas in the house,

need a quick clarification please.

Is it the same paediatrician that sees the baby at delivery that one continues to see or it is true that the one that sees the baby at delivery is paid just for that and one needs to take baby to another paediatrician after been discharged from the hospital.

If the above is true, is it necessary to take the baby to the other paediatrics? Senior mommas, please help this FTM. I will.also appreciate if someone can give me a highlight of things needed to be done after baby birth...Phema and Co, your experienced advice needed here plssssssssssssss.

Senior Moms in the house, come and help a sis.

I paid with my Bank of America card so all the payments are reflected on the statement and that's what I plan to show at the embassy if asked, since I have to renew my visa when I get to Lagos.

As for the epidural, i'm guessing the medicine itself is in the package and the administration is separate, but keep asking your hospital. Unfortunately, not all states are as cheap and straightforward with billing as Texas.

Thank you ma'am...

The same response I got from my hospital and doctor, so my plan is make a copy of the quote they gave me, along with the receipt and my bank statement as proof of payment to show the embassy when they ask.

For epidural, the fee I was charged covered both the medicine and the administration. This is in florida by the way, not sure where you are, you should ask the hospital just to be sure you don't get any surprise bill afterwards.

Thank you Shelly23.

I am in colorado. I have the quote and receipt but I don't understand how you want to use your statement to. I paid with cash.

As for the epidural, I actually have a self pay package that says epidural is covered. only for them to say I will pay the anaesthesilogist myself. And someone that already used the hospital mentioned that she paid like $800 for that. Just wondering that if epidural is covered in the package and what am paying is just the services of the person to administer it, should it be upto that $800. meanwhile the $800 is said to be after discount.

Hello people,

please I need you to help clarify somethings o.

1)went to hospital today to make payment and I talked to them about letter of zero balance but their response was that They only give receipts.

2) for people that have used epidural, did you have to pay for epidural and still pay the anaesthesiologist who administered the epidural?

Yes o! Full pay

Actually, I will work "remotely from another location" for the 3 months because I mostly do brainwork and paperwork, so I can work from anywhere as long as there is a telephone and internet. Proper Mat leave will start a month to delivery, and run for the regular 3 months.
Thank God for his favor sha, I was preparing to forfeit the extra months till my boss suggested this model for me and got it approved.

Lucky you and favoured baby grin

Hello people,

Live from denver colorado now with delta airlines. though I left with air France from Nigeria. It was favour galore all the way. from checking in to immigration et all. God was faithful. Even at the connecting flight point in Paris. Although a bit of questioning like what is your purpose of visiting the US which I answered and the lady turned to say something in high level french to her partner and later asked me to follow her. She also asked how far am gone and if I have my medications with me. I answered yes and showed. afterwards she took me to the sky priority queue and I was checked in to board.

My POE was New York JFk and God took control. in fact it was oversmooth.

CBP officer; Good day ma
me: Good sir
CBP Officer: what is the purpose of your visit and how long do you plan to stay
me: childbirth and vacation, 2months
CBP Officer: what do you do in Nigeria
I told him
CBP Officer:when was the last time you visited US
I told him
CBP Officer;how long did you stay
I answered.
CBP Officer; how much do you have with you
me: 8000USD
asked me to put my fingers and stamped me till sept 2015. It was all.like 3mins o.
was so excited because I had last minute scare from my doctor. I was unable to get personalised letter from.the doctor. I guess because the denver peeps are not familiar with people coming in to birth from naija. what I had was mail correspondence between me and the financial counselor for the hospital and she also said when I come. I also had my letter of intent and my Nigeria doctors were like I should make sure I get something from the doctors which I could not get although I had the package cost I got from the hospital and the lady helped me doctors cost too. but eventually my burden of proof file didn't leave my bag.

I thank.everyone because it was the confidence I gained on the forum that helped me overcome my last minute scare.

Thanks to Tvegas and PrinceAdeAde for their help with the letter of intent.

From experience and some posts here, waknow is not friendly at all with changing schedule and adding baby onn your ticket. They can be gangsta sometimes. But different strokes sha.
There is travelstart.com.ng
They have insurance they suggest you buy that allows you to make changes for free. Don't have so much details sha.

Don't mind all these agents, all na scam. I bought my ticket with flexi option that is meant to give me one free date change through travelstart and something came up that made me consider rescheduling. I sent them a mail to inform them only for me to first get a quote of 125k to reschedule and another mail where they apologised that they just confirmed that I bought a flexi ticket and another quote of 75k..........wish I didn't pay the extra 15k for flexi would have paid a cheaper amount for the ticket because to me I wouldn't pay as much as 75k to change date sha.
