EmoBoy: Just 8 MegaWatts? Nigerians and mediocrity shaI knew this was coming. The plan is to get lagos institutions off the national grid. What is the point of building large plant if you can't control distribution |

Once operationally, theThis is the 3rd one after island maternity and alausa. Before pdp fool come here and rant, it is on record that Tinubu built a power plant in egbin before the fg hijacked it. 1 Like |

Chiwude: Am not being biased but frank with you. Anything that has to do with Lagos and Abuja should be tagged as PRIDE OF NIGERIA. A melting pot of the nations growth and unity. Anything that goes contrary to that becomes a mockery to not just Nigerians but also in the eyes of those who want our downfall. The same way you wouldn't tag 'Abuja the pride of the North', that is the Same way you dare not tag Lagos the pride of the S/West. Lagos Pride of Naija is a better alternative that can be used. You can list Fashola's inputs and achievements and you will be shocked to see the good comments and praises that Lagosians of every tribe, creed and religion will usher on that wonderful man. The development that Lagos has witnessed is enormous and will need much hands to post pictures of both Fashola, Tinubu and previous military and civilian government's achievement's in the state - Buba Marwa inclusive. If Seun had allowed the slogan Lagos pride of the S/West, I doubt if it will get to 5 pages before it get's thrown into the ethnic/sectarian section, or get banned completely. Of course the tribalists will invade it and make a mess of it. Any thread that has to do with Lagos is essentially a medium for uniting the country. Unless you are opening a purely political and sectional thread which you can tag maybe 'The Politics of Lagos '. In addition, any thread of such purpose should be opened by a true non-partisan Lagosian who hasn't soiled his hands in nairaland's ethnic politics. Someone who understands developments on a wider scale. From the Egun floating school of Makoko, to the husling of Hausa/Kanuri traders in Idi araba - who out of bravery strove to bring farm goods to Lagos despite Boko Haram onslaught; to the turn around of swampy Alaba by Igbo traders to a modernized commercial nerve that yields Lagos huge internal revenue'. Don't be suprised that when such thread is opened it will break nairaland's record for the heighest numbers of pages in a thread. But for me, however, I think you are not in the right position to open such thread because the word ethnic champion is written all over your face. And again, Seun can approve such thread in the politics section only when it meets it's objective of unity and progress. My two cents. This 1idiot does not seem to have any sense, if those threads are not about government policy but PRIDE then your enugun and anambra thread should be in the travel section 1 Like |

Chiwude: Sincerely the Lagos thread belong to the travel section. We as Nigerians can only use it and Abuja to rival neigbouring african capitals. Why must you tag a federal state as Lagos pride of the S/West. Even before these fake cries, many of us know what you intend posting as pictures in the Lagos thread. Federal edifice like the Tafawa Balewa square, Third Mainland bridge, Tin Can ports, MMI airports and the numerous national monuments of post/pre colonial Nigeria. What happened to Ibadan, Abeokuta, Akure and other capitals. What is the shame in it, if you tag one of these capitals as pride of the S/West. Borrow a leaf from our northern folks from Kano who only show you the beauty of their state. They and the people of the N/Central have been diplomatic enough by not toeing your line. You can never see a thread with the headline ' Abuja pride of the North'. If Uyo - a minority capital can have it's thread still trailing in the politics section , I see no reason why you shouldn't do likewise. Seun is smart enough to know the antics of those clamouring for the Lagos thread to be in the politics section. These whiners should revive the Ibadan thread and show us the beauty of your capital - the seat of government of the Western region. Sophistication indeed!Your senseless rant has nothing to with my request. by Seun(m): 12:54pm On Sep 10 2 Likes 1 Share |
