Dreamweaver is a text editor. Text editor or IDE is the only web design software. I do not know of any other. |
Like this one: http://www.ctrlshiftstudios.com/ad If not, then what exactly do you want? Can you send a link of a blog that is currently doing what you want to achieve? |
Well, you will need to learn the basics of Graphics software like: Photoshop, GIMP, QuarkXpress and CorelDraw. You can go to the Graphics Section and open a thread there for quicker and more responses. |
What assistance do you need about Wordpress in particular? You cant just say u need assistance and then just say u ar a novice in it. Do you need wordpress tutorial or ar u taking a tutorial on wordpress and need clarification in certain area? Tell us what exactly u want. |
There are many php scripts. There is nothing like web design software. Or do you mean a text editor, which is the only web design software? |
^^What happened to the colored? |
If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask us here. Cheers. |
You want the whole background to be an advert link? Well, you cannot achieve that by doing it directly to the body tag. You have to use a trick. Check what I did here: http://www.ctrlshiftstudios.com/ad If that is what you want, then copy this line of code: <a href="http://theadvertlink.com" id="advert">advert link</a> Then open your blogger html editor and paste it after the opening <body> tag. Then go to the stylesheet section and paste below codes: #advert{ display:block; height:100%; width:100%; position:fixed; left:0; top:0; z-index:0; text-indent:-5000em; background:url(http://www.yourwebsite.com/adverImage.jpg); } Then try to locate the main wrapper of your website. Get the class or id and then go back to stylesheet section and add these two lines of code in it. position:relative; z-index:100; |

Begin with HTML and CSS. If you dont have an ebook yet, then I recommend you download this powerful ebook called, "HTML AND CSS: THE COMPLETE REFERENCE." You can download it free here: http://www.it-ebooks.info/book/1916 Cheers. |
^What ar u suggesting? Is wordpress not php and mysql? Do you expect him to write custom cms for the project? What is twitter bootstrap? Why ar u suggesting he use a framework when WP makes no sense to u? |
Do you mean whether you can do it with ONLY with html and css? Then NO you CANNOT. Do you mean whether html and css will be involved? Then YES, you CANNOT avoid them. In order to build a forum or social media network website, a server-side programming language and a database MUST be involved. |
Then use jquery and php (wordpress) to do it. That website is pretty simple if it's just to develop it and you will be able to add contents to it from a cms. It's just header, content and footer. The header has nav links and a header image. The content has the thumbnail images of courses and the footer has few other links. You can confidently do it with php. That website was build initially with PHP. But they later migrated to Python/Django. |
In addition, if you want exactly the same functionality of the website, like the way it loads and stuff like that, then be rest assured that the website was written entirely on Backbone.js with Python/Django and MysQl. |
if(you were asked to make it dynamic and you know html, css and a bit of php) { Then use wordpress to do it. } elseif(you were asked to just design it whether dynamic or static and you know html and css) { Then just use ordinary html and css to do it. } else { Ask someone to help you do it. } Cheers. |
Go to: http://www.it-ebooks.info and get tons of free ebooks virtually on any programming language. You can download the pdf ebooks for free. If you want the hard-copy, then you will have to buy it. Cheers. |

It does not matter. Mastercard is brilliant enough to do the Arithmetic. For instance, if the charge is 10 Dollars, then you should have at least 1700 Naira in your account. |

$gtbMasterCard = 'Credit Card'; You are good to go. That is what I use. |
In order to publish your website, these are steps you should take. 1. Find a good web hosting company. If you have a credit card that can make payments online, I suggest you use www.siteground.com or www.stablehost.com 2. If you have not registered the domain name of your choice then check whether it's available by typing the name and choose extension of your choice. 3. If the domain you want is available for registration, then go ahead with other steps. Siteground will register the domain for you free, so you just need to choose the hosting plan you want. I advice you choose the most cheapest one. Proceed with the order. They will suggest all kinds of additional services for you, which if you accept will increase your payment. I advice that you decline the extra services by unchecking the buttons. 4. Enter your personal details, address and credit card details. Then proceed to checkout. 5. If your payment is successful, you will be sent an invoice and other details concerning your cpanel to the email you provided. By now, your domain has become live. If you type the domain name in your browser, you will see that it will open like a normal website, but with a homepage that has something to do with the web host company. 6. You can then upload your own website to the domain name. It's either you do this through your cpanel or you download filezila and use it to upload the website files to the public_html folder. Try these, and if you need further assistance, let us know. cheers. |
I will be coming to Nigeria by next month to attend to one or two things at home. I want to use the opportunity to organize 2 or 4 weeks web design training in certain cities in the south east. The training will be very practical and intensive. It will cover html, css, responsive design, user interface design, wordpress customization, search engine optimization, file uploading and hosting. I came up with this little and simple web page design for the training advert. I am still working on the write-ups and so I am holding the spaces with lorem ipsum texts. Check it: http://www.ctrlshiftstudios.com/web-training Tell me what you think. |
The design doesnt look catchy and professional. I dont see the need for the clock there. Must every coming soon page have a clock. I expected a catchy design with the video to introduce what is about to happen. You can then explain through a few writeup that you will soon launch. The starting word, 'Hey' doesnt sound professional. Hey is usually used by freelancers to introduce themselves in their portfolio websites. Like, 'Hey, am Billy, a web developer fron Berlin.' Coming soon page is usually used for an known company that is designing a new website or redesigning their old website. But in ur case, it's like launching of start-up, a product or an enterprise service. Do u know it wil look more sleek to just have a flat-color as the bg color of the webpage and then a well styled input field with submit button asking people to enter their emails to be the first to know when you launch with some catchy and appertizing few words. Few words like: 'Now, your ideas can become a reality. Let's show how.' cheers. |
The site looks good. In order to get traffic, you need lots of work to do and there are several options available to you. You must do serious and robust onpage and offpage seo, you can run one month facebook ad with catchy designs and phrases, you should create a facebook page and twitter handle and find a way to get people to like the page and follow ur handle. Ultimately, you should be patient and keep growing naturally with good and consistent contents. cheers. |
Take note of these: 1. Why will you use image for the hover background of the nav links? Since the background is just orange color, why not use a color instead of image. .nav li a:hover {background:orange; border-radius:5px} 2. Why will you use javascript to disable text highlighting? This can stop robots from crawling the site. Why protect the text when one can still grab them from other ways. It's childishness. It's not done anymore. Even world-class websites with top-notch contents are not protecting their texts. 3. In the slider that shows the Director, his name is overflowing to the image. 4. Since the layout is straight-forward, you should consider making it responsive. |
Your html markup is horrible. There is no point using old html styling like align="right". Again, why will you use close to 100 probably to create space between the logo and get in-touch details? Why will you create arrays of empty paragraphs before the id of navigation? You should make the logo a link. You should have floated the logo left and the contact details to right, and then cleared both on the id of navigation. All through your codes, you keep doing this: <p> </p>. What happened to margin? You used too much towards the footer. Imagine using close to 200   at a go. Pls, is usually used to give a minor space, but when a big space is required, then css margin comes it. I like the simple and clean use of white and blue colors. Cheers. |
