sexkillz: [color=#000030]The problem is not with the topics, for there is nothing wrong about discussing such topics. The problem is with the tribal bigots always ready to tribalize and sensationalize every thread they come across. You and I well know that what these bigots perpetuate on Nairaland is not obtainable in the real world.

Something is being done already. The bigots on Nairaland are not up to 100. Report their posts when you see their bigot infested comments and wait for the mods to take action. Do not engage them. When you engage them, you have lost all moral rights to complain.

The war against bigots will be won faster if we all work together against them, for they are in the minority. To that end, always report their posts when you see them via the "report" link or on the complaints thread of this section.

Cheers.

Why that crime etc, related topics about other ethnic group especially Yorubas doesn't make front page but even fake news with no or adulterated source about Igbos always on front page?

Boss13: I am in contact with someone who can install SKY dish so that I can watch sky stations. Though the installation and set up cost is quite expensive, the running cost isn't compared to DSTV and there are over a 1,000 stations to watch from. Plus, seeing new movies quicker than DSTV viewers and on HD too.
What's the installation cost

Boss13: I will be seeing a live demonstration this saturday. would come back and inform the house. Apart from sports, I get tired with DSTV, the movies are on auto repeat and you have to wait 7 months before they are allowed to show a new movie by then Boko Haram boys don finish to watch the movie for their desert zone. Oh I also forgot to mention the constant 11,000 I pay per month. While with this Sky HD stations, I get to pay N15,000 for 7 months but you need a 4 meter dish (thats a disadvantage for those who don't have space).

To answer your question - I guess I would count them all to know which are English. However, the installer said it is Sky UK, cos there is also SKY Germany and SKY Italia.

Politics › Re: Ridiculous Statements Made At Anambra PDP rally by gratiaeo(m): 3:42pm On Nov 14, 2013
[s][quote author=Baba_Eleko]Yesterday, the entire People’s Democratic Party appeared to descend on Anambra to push the gubernatorial candidate, Tony Nwoye into winning an election many pundits think he won’t. He has been involved in litigation over who is candidate for the pasty for the past few months – and has been late to the campaign trail.

Drunk on the wine of now-possible success, the PDP bigwigs at the event – including President Goodluck Jonathan – found it a bit difficult to control their tongues. We bring you some of the statements, thanks to Premium Times, that were so bad, they’re almost unbelievable

“50 per cent of the private jets in Nigeria are owned by Anambra people” – President Goodluck Jonathan

“I told Gov. Obi to hand over to this young man,” – PDP chairman, Bamanga Tukur

“Today we have for the first time in history, a candidate from Anambra North. I’m sure that the people of Anambra North will do anything to put their son, Comrade Tony Nwoye, into the Government House come 2014” – Senator Margaret Okadigbo

“If it is not Panadol it can never be like Panadol. This is a party that is deporting your sons and daughters and demolishing their shops” – Governor of Akwa Ibom, Godswill Akpabio said.

“Mr. President, kidnapping in Anambra is a lucrative business” – Governorship candidate, Tony Nwoye

However, it was apparently PDP board of trustees member and billionaire chairman of Orient Petroleum that went on the most expansive roll:

Take 1: “For many years the orphans and widows in this state were neglected, until God brought Jonathan from a village in Otuoke. The same thing happened to Tony Nwoye, from a village called Nsugbe. They have no money,” Mr. Eze said.

Take 2: “That short man called Ngige, we gave him power and he went and joined Awolowo’s people; the people that killed the Igbos.”

Take 3: “Peter Obi, we gave him power, he did not conduct election for eight years. He was busy building mansions and marble houses everywhere.”

Take 4: “Anambra people, let us change your lives while we are still alive.”

And for good measure, he appears to be in tune with the life expectancy average in Nigeria under the leadership of his favourite president.

“”I’m 65 years,” Mr. Eze declared at the rally. “And I’ll die very soon.”

Let no one stand between an old man and his wishes.

Short up APC
Why is APC developing goose pimples as the day of election gets near in Anambra State . Do they think in their widest dream that they will be somewhere near to victory in Anambra state. If they gets 3rd position in Anambra Governorship election, they should thank their star.
Its a known fact that Ngige and his cronies is father and breeder of election malpractice in Anambra. Do he think that he will repeat what he did in 2011 during national assembles election? He must be sleeping on a bicycle. In a sane country, Ngige will be languishing in prison for his 2003 election rigging
Politics › Anambra: Abide By Your Words, APC Tells Jonathan by gratiaeo(op):
The All Progressives Congress has asked President Goodluck

Jonathan to live up to his promise of a free and fair election in

Anambra State on Saturday, saying the President must be believable at

all times.

In a statement in Lagos on Thursday by its Interim National

Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said nothing on

ground in Anambra so far points to the fact that Saturday’s election

will be free, fair and transparent, despite the President’s promise.

APC said, ”Rightly or wrongly in our country, institutions of state take a cue

from the President’s body language. They know that members of the

ruling PDP who engaged in electoral malfeasance and brigandage during

last month’s Delta Central Senatorial election were not punished.

“They know that security agencies that turned themselves to the armed wing

of the PDP were not sanctioned. In this context, therefore, the

President’s promise of a free and fair election will not mean much to

those bent on repeating same in Anambra.

“The fact that one of the candidates in Saturday’s

election, Willie Obiano of APGA, has continued to evade justice

despite a glaring electoral offence committed by him, through his

proven multiple registration, does not give anyone much confidence

that INEC can indeed be trusted to ensure a level-playing field for

all the parties.”

The LORD the Avenger of
His People

Plead my cause, O LORD,
with those who strive with me;
Fight against those who fight
against me.
2 Take hold of shield and
buckler,
And stand up for my help.
3 Also draw out the spear,
And stop those who pursue me.
Say to my soul,
“I am your salvation.”
4 Let those be put to shame and
brought to dishonor
Who seek after my life;
Let those be turned back and
brought to confusion
Who plot my hurt.
5 Let them be like chaff before
the wind,
And let the angel[a] of the
LORD chase them.
6 Let their way be dark and
slippery,
And let the angel of the LORD
pursue them.
7 For without cause they have
hidden their net for me in a pit,
Which they have dug without
cause for my life.
8 Let destruction come upon
him unexpectedly,
And let his net that he has
hidden catch himself;
Into that very destruction let
him fall.
9 And my soul shall be joyful in
the LORD;
It shall rejoice in His salvation.
10 All my bones shall say,
“LORD, who is like You,
Delivering the poor from him
who is too strong for him,
Yes, the poor and the needy
from him who plunders him?”
11 Fierce witnesses rise up;
They ask me things that I do not
know.
12 They reward me evil for
good,
To the sorrow of my soul.
13 But as for me, when they
were sick,
My clothing was sackcloth;
I humbled myself with fasting;
And my prayer would return to
my own heart.
14 I paced about as though he
were my friend or brother;
I bowed down heavily, as one
who mourns for his mother.
15 But in my adversity they
rejoiced
And gathered together;
Attackers gathered against me,
And I did not know it;
They tore at me and did not
cease;
16 With ungodly mockers at
feasts
They gnashed at me with their
teeth.
17 Lord, how long will You look
on?
Rescue me from their
destructions,
My precious life from the lions.
18 I will give You thanks in the
great assembly;
I will praise You among many
people.
19 Let them not rejoice over me
who are wrongfully my
enemies;
Nor let them wink with the eye
who hate me without a cause.
20 For they do not speak peace,
But they devise deceitful
matters
Against the quiet ones in the
land.
21 They also opened their
mouth wide against me,
And said, “Aha, aha!
Our eyes have seen it.”
22 This You have seen, O
LORD;
Do not keep silence.
O Lord, do not be far from me.
23 Stir up Yourself, and awake
to my vindication,
To my cause, my God and my
Lord.
24 Vindicate me, O LORD my
God, according to Your
righteousness;
And let them not rejoice over
me.
25 Let them not say in their
hearts, “Ah, so we would have
it!”
Let them not say, “We have
swallowed him up.”
26 Let them be ashamed and
brought to mutual confusion
Who rejoice at my hurt;
Let them be clothed with shame
and dishonor
Who exalt themselves against
me.
27 Let them shout for joy and
be glad,
Who favor my righteous cause;
And let them say continually,
“Let the LORD be magnified,
Who has pleasure in the
prosperity of His servant.”
28 And my tongue shall speak
of Your righteousness
And of Your praise all the day
long.

Sports › Eaglets Get N2m Each, National Honours by gratiaeo(op): 6:31am On Nov 11, 2013
BY OLALEKAN ADETAYO

President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday announced a cash gift of N2m each for all the players of the nation’s Under-17 team, the Golden Eaglets, who won the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Soccer Championship on Friday in Abu Dhabi, United Emirates.

The players, their handlers and key members of the Nigerian Supporters’ Club, according to the President, will also be honoured with national honours during the next award ceremony.

Jonathan announced the rewards at a reception he held in honour of the players at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President announced a N3m cash gift to the team’s Head Coach; the assistant coaches get N2.5m each; the team doctor, physiotherapist and team secretary get N500,000 each while the team technical officer, team coordinator, medical officers and the curator will get N300,000 each.

Jonathan said with the gifts, he was keeping his earlier promise to the team when he charged them to go and conquer the world.

Describing the cash gifts as token, the President encouraged state governments and members of the organised private sector to join the Federal Government in appreciating players, saying no amount of reward could be adequate for the young Nigerians.

“The team, the handlers, the coaches and the officials including some key members of the supporters club and the Nigerian Football Federation will all be rewarded when we give national honours,” he said.

The President said he was pleased to host and honour the players who he said by their outstanding performance had brought pride and honour to Nigeria and Africa.

He said the players won fairly and convincingly, adding that the victory is for the whole of Africa.
