So I have been thinking for a while now to start a training program for folks that wants to learn how to program.
I will be teaching how to program using Java and the concept can easily be used in other programming languages.

So if you're interested, fill out this Google form, you'll get a link to a telegram group I just created and we kick it off from there.

Note : This is going to be a class for absolute beginners, so if you know how to program this is not for you.

This is for backend developers. But if you want to learn general programming concept that you can then apply to your journey, you're welcome to join.

If you have opinions on how to run the class please don't join because I won't be listening to you, I have a plan on how to run the class already planned out, if you have opinion you have 2 options, don't join or keep that to yourself.

If you don't have a laptop, it won't do you much good to join the class as it will be very practical. You can still join and get the theoretical knowledge sha.

The live class will be on Saturdays, every week I will give you a topic or 2 to study on your own. Then on Saturdays we will discuss the topic and I will answer your questions.

I will be recommending materials to use during the week and we go deeper during the live session, you'll get an opportunity to ask questions based on the topic or previous topics we have covered.

Immediately the class starts, we won't be taking in any more person. And the class will run for a period of 10 - 12 weeks, I will extend it if need be.

The class will hold Saturday morning or evenings depending on how my time permits me.

I will post the time for the class latest on Fridays.

I think adding what type of Tech field you transitioned into will help, saying Tech generally doesn't help pinpoint what you could be talking about.

I want to assume you don't have tech experience because if you do, you'll know there are hundreds of tech fields.

And this book is not teaching you any specific tech skills.

It's just pointing you to all the different options you have in the tech space.

I have a chapter in the book detailing more than 20 tech fields and I also detailed a clearly road map for it too.

I am glad you found this post helpful.

I will advise generally you get any laptop that has at least 8GB ram, and 250GB disk.

If you have the money the hard disk should be SSD,this will give you good experience when using the laptop.

I got a laptop from a guy on this nairaland and the laptop is very nice.

I will check him out and post here, I have forgotten the name.

If you don't have the money to get the specifics I mentioned earlier, then you can go for a 4gb ram and HDD disk.

But you might not have a very good experience with the laptop.
