Religion / Re: Money Ritual In Nigeria: Do You Have Any Evidence It Works? (Disturbing Photos) by greatdude: 11:25pm On Jul 21, 2018 |
People prefer to ask their next door mates, 'is this thing real, does it work?' knowing fully well that they can easily dismiss such claims as lacking in truth but will never so much as lift a foot to get closer to the scene of such occurrences so as to verify for themselves Lazy Nigerian youths, the lot of them. 5 Likes |

dacostar:He is the Commander in Chief so the buck stops with him. He has a mandate to secure the lives of Nigerians. Now GEJ just got ousted and one of the main reasons for this was the inability of his government to clamp down on Boko Haram. Why should we judge things differently now? |
Celebrities / Re: Daddy Freeze To Mary Remmy: "Camel Toe Is Sexual Harassment" by greatdude: 5:25pm On Jun 23, 2018 |
Whilst I do not support the act of infidelity under any guise whatsoever, I believe that it is hypocritical to criticize male folks of such acts whilst shielding the female folks from any blame/criticism associated with such acts like going around streets in broad day light without bra (nips showing) and the particular act that was aptly described by daddy freeze. It's plain hypocrisy. |
Music/Radio / Beyoncé Vs Rihanna: Who's The Real Queen? by greatdude: 5:01am On May 22, 2018 |
Hello all, there is one winner for me here but I'd love to have your say in this matter. People say Beyoncé is the Queen but comparing the quality of music they both churn out, for me Rihanna is easily the superior of the two. I know Queen Bee is well regarded for her musical prowess in her own rights and rightly so but if we would take away all the PR stuff, the celebrity status thing, the dancing skills, their social media following, etc etc and we focus omy in the quality of music they deliver to our doorstep, easily the winner has to be Riri. What's your take? |
Family / Re: The Woman My Best Friend Is About To Marry This Saturday Has No Womb, Help by greatdude: 7:36pm On Apr 26, 2018 |
andreawills96:Whilst this could be true, the suggestion to let the cat out of the bag doesn't automatically say that the bride to be is guilty. We are simply advising the man to tell his friend what he has found out so his friend can have his wife to be do a proper test. For all you know, the test may reveal that the friend of the wife to be had evil plans against their marriage and that the woman actually has her womb intact, but ignoring the message or 'minding ones own business' would be a grave mistake. Let the test reveal the true position of things. |

Dangote isn't dead. Normally I wouldn't expect someone "close" to Aliko to confirm the story. They'd rather deny the story than confirm it. Not saying the person is lying but how authentic are his/her claims that it never happened? 2 Likes |

Buhari's fault that we are only one goal ahead. Should have been at least 4 if the Daura Don hadn't spoiled the boys with ludicrous sums thereby reducing their effectiveness on the pitch. I blame Buhari. |

Religion / Re: 10 Categories Of People That Are Interested In The Downfall Of Apostle Suleman by greatdude: 9:40pm On Mar 17, 2017 |
Responding to an allegationot or keeping mute about it is a matter of choice. I have been lied against but shoved it all away particularly because I was too occupied to engage in a war of words and slur. Some people said I was right to refrain others thought otherwise. I'll never really know whether I was right to be mute but there are 2 things I knew: 1. Despite the overwhelming rumblings, the truth never suddenly became the lie and the lie never suddenly became the truth; 2. I had a free choice to make whether to react or refrain If Abu accuses Ali of stealing meat, I'd ask Abu for proof and even though I'd ask Ali if he did this or not, I wouldn't bother him with proof 'that he did not steal meat'. I'd seek proof from Abu especially if Abu seems certain to have verifiable evidence as the burden of proof lies with him.

HardMirror:I know we wish that the Apostle is guilty in this matter for varying reasons, not least, because of the fun and excitement such a revelation would bring. We'd be laughing our asses out sneering, 'Apostle, Apostle....' and there'd be no way out for the accused. But deep down in our hearts we know that these claims at the moment are allegations at best and it'd be wrong to make them anything other than that. I believe the burden of proof lies with the accuser to produce evidence beyond reasonable doubt and the controversy would be put to bed. If someone accuses me of wrongdoing, I have a choice to either respond or not respond depending on varying factors. Ms Otobo can save us more drama if she would just produce a verifiable proof. |

Seun:Seun I really think you shouldn't bother yourself with what Mark believes. He has his life to live and so do you. If he doesn't believe in atheism, there is no point saying he does and what's all the fuss about his belief system anyways. Okay if he's a Jewish, Catholic, Buddhist, Atheist, etc how does it help? Please dont bother yourself with whatever he holds as his belief system because he's different from you. 1 Like |

Religion / Re: Will Science Ever Find Out How Life Started? by greatdude: 8:05pm On Oct 30, 2016 |
chrmn1:please let's stick to the subject of discourse, namely, 'will science ever find the answer to the puzzle, how did the universe begin?'. Thank you for your input though |
Religion / Re: Will Science Ever Find Out How Life Started? by greatdude: 3:32pm On Oct 30, 2016 |
oglalasioux:I hope so but I don't think it works that way. That scientific findings have grown tremendously over the past few centuries is no guaranty that it will find answers to a certain scientific question in the coming century. Researchers are working to find answers no doubt but as we speak there are no indications yet that they will resolve this puzzle. |
Religion / Re: Will Science Ever Find Out How Life Started? by greatdude: 6:01pm On Oct 26, 2016 |
oglalasioux:you see friend, one would argue that this puzzle seems unique and is of a different nature. Anyone who doubts the awesomeness of scientific discoveries and the role of science in finding out about our great universe hasn't got a clue. I opened this thread because of an argument among my co-workers and even the guy that champions the idea that science cannot find out how life started is not a religious guy so this is clearly not about religion. The difficulty basically stems from the possibility of making observations of how life started but recently scientists are trying to demonstrate in principle how it could occur. Researchers are trying to show undeniably that chemistry can naturally become biochemistry and once they do this they believe they would have made progress in answering this question. Problem is when they do, someone will still ask, 'how did chemistry come about?' So it begs the question, yes researchers are seeking answers but are they seeking answers to THIS question? The jury is still out as to whether science will answer the question or not eventually but I think the subject question is a valid one to ask. |
Religion / Re: Will Science Ever Find Out How Life Started? by greatdude: 4:24pm On Oct 23, 2016 |
oglalasioux:it would mean those that claim that science will never find out how the universe started, regardless of their views in support of or against theism, cannot be dismissed just yet as there are no clear cut scientific answers at the moment.....fingers crossed till year 2100 then |

Religion / Re: Will Science Ever Find Out How Life Started? by greatdude: 11:38am On Oct 23, 2016 |
Good post. However this puzzle seems unique by its very nature as it has to deal with pre-history. Very interesting question, this. For now it's fingers crossed. Also I didn't mention faith in my original post. Let's stick to the subject. |
Religion / Will Science Ever Find Out How Life Started? by greatdude: 11:09am On Oct 23, 2016 |
A lot of work is currently being done to answer this question but at present, there seem to be no answers just yet. Some people say there was some sort of natural energy conversion that began the current state of this universe only problem is that they are in the dark as to what kick started the energy conversion as no evidence survives from that time and Science needs evidence to work off of. To put it in simple terms, whatever process is explained regarding how life evolved we still need to date it back to where it all started and if we all agree that it started at point A, somebody would ask me, 'How did A come on the scene?' What do you say? |

Career / Relevance And Appeal To Employers Of The FRM Certification by greatdude: 12:32pm On Oct 16, 2016 |
Happy Sunday people. Heard about FRM and all the good stuff that its going to be very hot in demand in the coming times and because I'm in the banking sector (branch operations specifically) I'm thinking about enrolling for the exam in a bid to make way to other specialized units in the banking sector or even Consultancy Firms that have risk depts)(don't know much about consultancy firms). Whilst one part of me says to go for it, another part of me says its not well recognized and people dont know the value of the certification just yet and that's why I thought to seek counsel from this Great site. Would you advise me to pursue this program or the more traditional ICAN or MBA for the purpose highlighted above. I also stumbled upon another risk certification, CRMA and I'm not sure which one is the more appealing to employers at the moment. What do you think? |
