@bolded, God has you covered jare! I'm sure everything is awesome with you but I'm considering the practicality.

24hrs is too short a time to be sure everything is fine. BP has to be monitored, most especially. CS is a major surgery, there's a lot to monitor that's why hospitals keep you a day or 2 after, unlike VD. Where I had my baby, they keep you for 4 days, anything can go wrong in a flash!

I've had 2 CS go fine and I was kept just for monitoring, even though I was bored stiff. Standard practice has a checklist for these things. I've seen cases of CS sites loosening within days. It's not just enough to look at it and boot you out after 24 hours.

I still think it is unfair, morally and professionally wrong to have you out after 24hrs after CS. Even in 9ja, they keep you for up to 5 days.

This is not exactly a great review, my opinion sha.

I totally understand. It was more than 24hrs... Was discharged 11:59pm sunday and i was monitored too. Am doing great and I have gone for postpartum checkup too. All looks and feel fine.

Is it me or thus just seems wrong!

What kind of hosp will discharge you 1 day after CS

This is so wrong!

It will be wrong if u weren't improving tremendously.
She check my scare, looked fine. Pooped and was up and about just barely 24hrs.

If I wasnt okay then its wrong for me to be discharged.
My belly is almost flat and this is just 2weeks after birth.

Maybe I am superwoman sef. grin

Is it until something fatal happens? God forbid o.
All the nansense the man is doing, will he do it to americans? No. Are there no other doctors in the kain sugarland?
See this one now, heartbeat reduced. We thank God for mercy o!

I dint add that my girl's heartbeat went up to 180 and I was place on oxygen shocked it was just me and the nurse o... The dr went back home. This was friday night.

I just thank God... No complication as baby passed all her exams. grin grin

Hello everyone, I had my baby a month ago at
Methodist Sugarland and my dr was dr Robertson ( (she is with dr F). At 40.2 weeks I was feeling so much pressure so I called the dr who said I should go to the hospital, at the hospital the dr called the nurses to observe me for 2hrs( I was biled$1870 for that and also $175 to read the ultrasound that was done) after the 2 hr observation I was sent home that there was no patterned contraction.

The next day the pressure increased and I had to go back to the hospital the nurses checked me and I was admitted at 3cm dilation, the next morning dr dama came to break my water and by noon at 6cm dilation a dr Nixon came and insisted on me taking pitocin and I said no at 2pm she insisted on the pitocin n I took it less than 2 mins after she came in to say the baby's heart beat has dropped and she needed to perform a cs. The baby was delivered at 2:22pm.
In all of these my dr never called me once, she made me incur extra $1870 without any justification. I think dr F and his team are too busy and we all need to find alternatives. I incurred unnecessary cost just because they are new to methodist and they don't know how things work there. Please, if you are using methodist Sugarland try and pre register, ask questions about other associated cost and do not go there if you are not in Labour. Based on my recent experience I will not be using dr F's team for my next missionary journey.

Sorry for this unnecessary bill, after I checked in on thursday, dint dilate after 2 citotech was administed I was asked by dr Cherion to go home by 9am friday. I called Alice and she said I will pay $840 if I check out but if I stay and add extra day after the normal hospital stay I will pay $450. Omo I chose to stay but dint still dilate upto Saturday then i had CS and my hospital stay expired on Sunday got discharged that same sunday.

Always find out from the billing department before making decisions while in the hospital cos these doctors dont know how it works.

Beloved mamas,

Me don't like all this comment stating Dr F is human as such should be allowed to continue his inhumane service!!!! If I didn't research as some stated, must he also not be diligent??

No problem. It is Dr F that will come and advertise that he doesn't want Nigerian patients again. I even wanted a Dr Rosalind or so as she has the best review among his team, na so he vex that am insulting his expertise.

Kontinu to support bad things Nef and feddy27. Diaris God and dis is the period of change tongue tongue

U can imagine! shocked shocked
With his expertise he said my baby weigh 3.7 calculated with his mind without scan only for baby to weigh 2.7.

In all I am grateful to God for a safe delivery. Had a beautiful baby girl with no complications even though she pooped in my womb.

Hold up! angry

Sorry for your bad experience. I'm also not his fan but we should understand he is a human being. He cannot divide himself na.

People come to Nairaland with no idea where to start from. The first think they see is Dr.F, houston and stop the research there and run with it. They contact him and he accepts, who doesn't like the cash? Both active and ghost members. What do we expect the man to do?
How do we know if there are cheaper hosps out there if we don't rsearch?

If you check this entire thread you will see "who else is going to houston, I'm using Dr F, I'm using Dr F, ' somebody will manage to research another Doc, then they flood there, I'm using Dr.Dre, Dr. Who, Dr. Doolittle. No one wants to take the extra mile.

I think it's a lazy approach and the more we don't wanna work hard for our health, the more the strength of these doctors will fail us.

I used to blame Dr.F before but now, I just blame the herd mentality.

Lemme apologize in advanced if I sound condescending.

We are all here to get info and give back right?
Even if we are lazy we shouldn't condone terrible misconduct just as misrepresentation @the interview is highly prohibited. If mamas with bad experience should share their experience there will be less patronage. This E family is more than just a forum. We still have our brother's keeper instincts. So no excuse for him been such a bad omen to us been lazy its our life u know apart from d money spent.

From my previous post I have been complaining. Always running back here to ask what to do with him playing games. I dunno if u saw them. Thats a jejesi having so much faith in this forum. cry

I don't know about good reviews here o. Only from a few he took their delivery in person.

In my case neither him nor any of his doctors were around to take my delivery. The nurses did and he came about 2 hours later to stitch me up. I was lucky I wasn't bleeding seriously if not, who waits 2 hours after childbirth to be stitched up lipsrsealed

His excuse was that my labour was very fast. I told my story here and warned people especially 1st timers to be cautious.

Oh my God. This is really bad... He told me no one has sued him before but I think he needs and will soon to be sued. He probably feels he can get away with negligence because we have kind heart undecided

I have endured Dr Fagbohun too much. I saw his bad reviews after I had paid him since so many nairalanders found him pleasant. That man loves money to the detriment of his patient angry : shocked

How can he book me for induction on Sunday 7pm (this removes 24 hours by 12midnight) and calls d hospital by 8 am that he has csection in another hospital so they should delay me!!! On my Labour bed Am 10cm dilated and 100% effaced. Wish I can sue this guy and I will not have mercy.

He passed me on to another doctor for me to be induced. I went in last week thursday I dint dilate from thursday to saturday. I had to opt for Csection by 3pm satday cos my hospital stay was almost over. Dr F never called or find out how I was doing only for me to see him at the reception on monday morning, asked him why he dint check up on me he said "I just heard about u last night" shocked shocked. Last night kwa? Your own patient??

I really don't know why he has good reviews here. Honestly that guy is an error!
Those of u that are yet to use him beware.

That's my only issue with wakanow. They shld ask travelstart how dey do their booking.
Why shld adding an infant ticket be so difficult? U need assurance for ur family member o. Plus d airline maybe able to help... When d time comes
Feddy27

Feddy27,
I bought my ticket from the airline not wakanow dou. I was told if I wanna add infant I sud contact them via fone or their office in abuja.

With lots of bad experiences with wakanow I dont think u should wait for ur inlaw. Pick up d fone and call the airline directly which will be cheaper and less stess.

The Transcript isn't so bad except for some few lapses spotted

1) When filling your form.. You chose B2 then why stating vacation first before the main purpose which is CHILD birth.
2) y texas? You gave a good reason but you went too much in details telling him its just the small Pelvic and making his job very easy .. in my opinion could have said bla bla bla and had complication during your first C-section. ( if d V.O is interested in more details . they will ask what type of complication and all)
3) Reapply with you DH only and leave your kid out as a tie
4) Please try and read back on this thread. Especially the Transcripts ( it will better prepare)
4) Be confident, Truthful, Prayerful and good luck

@LadyGuinivere and other gurus could throw more light on this issue.

Good Luck

You are right.
I dont understand why I would say vacation when I know I will take nxt available flight back home after documentation, when shocked I know how much its involved in this missionary journey.

Please its just say it as it is always.

Hello , confuse at what is going on with Dr F, a friend paid for oakbend to use Dr F, when it was time for delivery Dr F sent her to Methodist to one of his doctor's.
Can imagine how one feels being referred to a Doctor you have not met .
Have switched to Dr Dama this evening seeing this post.
Thank you all for this forum .

You are right dear, met a lady in his office that had a baby last week using dr F but he dint show up for delivery. She wasnt happy.

You r luck that u havent paid him and switch. Me i just have to continue cos my refund is way below what i anticipated.

@greatie,

Me too have observed he is referring us to st Luke!!.
Went to see him today and he kept repeating st Luke even after I told him that I wanted Houston Methodist!! Am not happy with him at all. I did 5 out of those tests and he charged$260 too!. So is that his New lab price?

So wanted to go to Houston Methodist hospital to pay after his appointment and he told me to wait for hm to confirm st Luke? Wat konsan me?

Ohh I heard he has contract with st Luke so that's why. Just like he did with oakbend.

U can imagine. That means we r placed on "class of patients "

I sud go to Methodist while u go to St luke... Hmmm.

My host is saying i sud stay in oakbend no more back and forth.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by greatie: 9:47pm On Jul 07, 2016
Ok maybe i am dreaming but i guess i should post this and hear what y'all will say.
My bill with dr F so far: 1920 for dr fee (got 20% discount) 150 for ultrasound, 260 for test and 150 for first visit.
Paid oakbend but he doesnt want me to use oakbend but accepted when i asked him to refund me.

Yesterday was my appointment (not satisfied with my checkup cos its not thorough eg my first ultrasound was about d heartbeat, weight and if d baby was head down. Second to the 4th visit has been just heartbeat and always leaving the room too fast)

So he told me how a woman was given epidural at 34weeks and she is still pregnant. That they have unqualified nurses. I asked him if i can use St Luke he said its full that i sud get my refund and wait for labour to start shocked but he will find out if i can use St luke. So i left to get my refund from Alice. Told Alice (off record) the lady given epidural and all but she said its not possible for anyone to give medications without doctor's approval undecided shocked and she is surprised that he's moving his patients.
I got hold of a Nairalander who saw him on Tuesday and asked her y she hadnt registered with st Luke, saw me on Wednesday and said they r full undecided the lady went today and said approval comes from dr F but they u can still register after calling them to book appointment.

Last week my DH was like i should change my doctor but when i asked for my refund from dr F it was 1830 they were offering to pay back after 3 appointment.

Please lemme know y'all thoughts cos i cant think again cry cry lipsrsealed

Hello dear, just calm down ok. whether oakbend or st luke's or methodist, you will be fine. Also, just to point out to you that Dr F might not be there for your delivery so you don't get disappointed if you don't see him. The way the system runs is that if you fall into labour spontaneously, any doctor on call will take the delivery. You can only guarantee Dr F taking your delivery if you have a planned induction or scheduled CS with him. hope this helps with your decision making

OK... I will try to have an open mind with whoever takes the delivery.

Relax be calm.
Talk to God and tell him what u want. For ur sake all the nurses will b alert and at ur service.
U are not forcing him.
At least the rush on oakbend has reduced so see it as an advantage.
Sweetie pray now so u don't pray tomorrow.
Commit this entire delivery, the Dr's and nurses Inshort all the health care providers into God's hand. Let the Holy Spirit be in charge of ur delivery.
