I had my baby at Oakbend on Friday and it was amazing! Dr Dama and his team were on their A* game. The nurses afterwards were fantastic. They showed so much empathy and care and I was discharged yesterday.

Dr F still took a delivery on Friday at Oakbend and has one today that I am aware of.

This is my first baby so I don't have any previous experience to compare it with but I don't regret any part of my baby's birth story/plan.

Ok thank you.

Thank God for safe journey. I think Houston Methodist may be better in terms of ranking (professionalism, friendliness, cleanliness etc), from my research its ranked higher and has better reviews than Chi st. Luke. I have also asked friends that live in Houston and they say Houston Methodist is better. Experienced ppl can suggest though.

I have been exchanging mails with Dr. F, but sequel to your transcript i have a question. I mentioned that i was going to New jersey for child birth during my Visa interview and the VO asked why NJ, i replied because i had my first baby there in 2014 and liked the service, she asked for my zero receipts I showed her and shortly after I got the white paper and a brief advise to ensure that I carry the Zero balance receipts for my first child with me on my trip. However, I recently changed my mind to come to Houston given that its cheaper(As the economy isn't exactly friendly at the moment) now, linking this back to your transcript, was the Cb lady making reference to what you mentioned during your Visa interview regarding Dr. F and you telling the truth? Does it matter that i no longer want to go to NJ? Pls help a sister! Thanks

No i dont think she said that based on my visa interview because she just resumed her shift while i was interviewed.

I strongly believe that Dr F got a warning and maybe she's been on his case cos she was direct with d name and hospital.
I dont think its a crime to change your destination. Besides you are favoured no need to be afraid.

Just catching up been a while

Does this mean dr F has left oakbend

My dear, he said that he really doesnt like taking his patients to oakbend cos they've not upgraded their services yet they increased the price. He prefer Methodist and St Luke.

Mamas who are already using oakbend please help clarify this cos i got my quote in December.

Ps: havent gone to the these hospitals to make enquiries though.

My wonderful ppl !!!To God Be the glory... DH and I got our B2 visa today ( Lagos 7am appointment) after 4 mnths of B1/B2 rejection. I have decided to share my testimony because I used other ppls info here to keep my faith going .However, I prayed like never before and visited the motherless home with my seed for this purpose. My B1/B2 story goes...... Got married Nov 2015 and we applied in January and interview in February 2016 B1/B2 for honeymoon and to celebrate my upcoming birthday which was 2mnths and some weeks after wedding and God being God I took in immediately after wedding but that was confirmed some days to the visa interview(although what I had in mind was to use it for child birth and vacation if I had gotten it because i went for my honey moon after wedding but needed to tell an attracting story to....... ) so on the process of the interview the VO asked if I was pregnant(immediately I remembered advise from my friends and this site that is good to say the truth ) and I said yes, that I got to know some days after applying and he asked if am giving birth in US and I said for now no plans because we just got to know but I will wish to and the decision will be after the honeymoon vacation and the VO asked again u wish to give birth....and I said yes. So he rejected us then told us to apply for B2 and make available doctors correspondence and also our financial .i was still trying to convince him that I have not made any plans so we can get the visa but he insisted and gave us the blue paper. So we left and I was sad. I talked to justwise and he gave me his advice .Then in march we started sorting for doctors correspondence and i got info here true a good friend i PM that sent DR Fs email ( God bless you thou cant remember ur name again) that i used to get correspondence for doctors F fees and hospital ( Chi St Luke’s Health hospital) and also report from Nigeria hospital and financial. Then we reapplied in May 18TH and Our transcript today:

WE: Good morning with a smile
VO: (A lady)Good morning ..passport Please..... we gave her.
VO where are you going ?
Me :Houston Texas
VO :For what
Me: child birth
VO: Any documents.
Me. Immediately pass the doctors correspondence from Dr F and also letter from my hospital in Nigeria and budget sheet ( well prepared with colors ). and she started typing . really can’t remember if she went through the documents
VO: Why Houston
Me ; because I got a better offer from the hospital and doctor through two ppl I know used same doctor.
VO: where do u work
Me; blaaa blaaa blaaa ..
VO; To DH were do u work .
DH bla blaaa blaaa
VO : What's your budget for this trip ?
WE; Immediately told her the budget sheet was with her ,
VO: She went through and said good. and then typed then asked us to go pick our passport and was advising on the need to pay bills at that point my mind done reach Texas so I no even here wetin she talk again. lol

I thank God for his favor … it was indeed a miracle , No bank statement was checked ( but pls go with yours o!) or any other apart from budget sheet .From my observation, I believe they had already made their decision and then Gods Favor, also the colorful budget sheet !.....what would i have done if not for the budget sheet idea I got here .Thanks alot to all that took out time to answer my questions, and all that has kept posting info to get us updated and more thanks to greatie ( u r a sister)/ justwise you guys rock. Please be honest when applying. i attached the budget sheet for ppl that needs it too.

Regards,

Am so happy this stage ended in praise. You r welcome dear.

Yes greatie. I did mention that the form is valid for three months from the date of seal however it is also important to mention the following

A) d form requires the babies date of birth and unless you are having a scheduled csection (in which case even baby may still come before scheduled date) you cannot assertively tell date of birth.

B) if you decide to leave the date of birth blank as has been mentioned on the thread, then the notary shouldnt legally sign it because he cannot attest what he does not know... And please lets remember its ilegal and not encourage it.
A notorised form is simply an attestation (leagl oath) that the details contained are true. Falsifying such records are criminal and can be prosecuted.

C) some states do not accept consent forms notorised outside the US consulate.

Please note my intention is not to scare anybody but in d spirit of truthfulness and redeeming Niigerias image, i would advise against pre-filing.

My advice:
Please ask your hubby to visit the American Consulate in the country where he would be at the time of the childs birth. As long as he is legally present there, he will be attended to. His international passport and visa or entry permit would be used as Identification.

Am happy that u took out time to put me through. Thank you. Will wait until LO arrives.

Many thanks for your time.

I know people ain't well informed about giving birth in the US. However, coming here you must be willing to read and ask relevant questions.
Actually, this topic has been treated more than anything else. You should travel for the purpose which the visa was given, get your doctor and hospital, pay part of ur bills if need be and come back. When you're 35weeks plus u can go have ur baby. That way it safe.

Its not a crime to give birth in d US not stating ur pregnancy is termed misrepresentation and peoples visa has been revoked. i knew this when i came here. So read and take note on other information concerning your birthing.

@Newbee, when u sign up read and take note! No more shortcuts cos nobody is here to spoonfeed you. Typing this things is not funny.

Happy democracy day grin

A notorised document without a date is an incomplete document. Plus it is illegal for the notary to do so as he is required to seal and sign to authenticate d document.

I'm not in support of pre- notorising however if you must go ahead, have it properly signed, dated and sealed.

A notorised document is valid if used within 3mnths (90 days) frm the date of notary. Even d US consent form clearly states the 90 day timelime.

Oh i dint know this. Thank you. Will get it dated and sealed.

You should have notorised it before you left Nigeria and then travel with it cos there is no where he will notorise in US.
The way out is for him to notorise it when he gets back to Nig and then send it by courier to you.

That's what i intend to do. Notorise without putting a date before leaving Nigeria.
