Christianity Etc › Re: "Leave This Place" Jesus Told A Man IN Hajj by greetings(f): 2:28pm On Jan 21, 2015
[quote author=SalC post=29972291]Is it just me or did any other person notice the glaring lies in the hadith above?

First the quote said Abraham brought ishmael and his mother to Mecca when Ishmael was still suckling, dropped them and left. Common sense can deduce that if muslims believed that Abraham and Ishmael actually built the Kabba, then that would be much later when Ishmael must have grown up, not when he was still suckling yet this hadith said Abraham made the child and his mother sit down under tree near Kabba, as he was going he also turned and faced the Kabba while praying. And stated clearly that he set them near "thy sacred house" (that means the kabba was already a sacred house of God when Abraham and Ishmael came) Yet that place was said to be empty with no one living there.

Now the question is,
If this was Abraham's first visit and there was already a kabba for him to face and pray, who built the Kabba?

If Abraham left and didn't look back in obedience to Allah, isn't it clear he didn't build any kabba with Ishmael since Ishael was still a child who couldn't even fend for himself?

Funny a kabba was already there when Abraham came yet no one lives there.

Idon't even want to talk about the fact that Ishmael wasn't a suckling child when he was sent away. Ishmael was born to Abraham when he was 86 years old while Isaac was born when he was 100 years of age and it was after then ishmael and hagar were sent out. But that would be comparing the Bible and koran.
Now even from the Koran and hadith alone, the story didn't ad up.

This hadith reeks of contradictions!

This was one of the reasons I caution against using the hadith in

First of all, this is a relation of an event that happened by the prophet Muhammad s.a.w, he knew that they were sitting down beside the kaaba, even though it wasnt an actual HOUSE then,.thats one.

Two, prophet Ibrahim A.S might av been priviledged to know by Allah that that spot or place he left hajar n ismail was going to be built by them in future as the sacred house of Allah. N theres no contradiction because even the story clearly states and i quote "Then she drank (water) and suckled her child. The Angel said to her: "Don't be afraid of being neglected, for this is the House of Allah which will be built by this boy and his father, and Allah never neglects His people." The House (i.e. Kaaba) at that time was on a high place resembling a hillock, and when torrents came, they flowed to its right and left."
Meaning there was no HOUSE BUILT YET.
So where are the contradictions? You simply didnt read or understand the story well. Then ask question directly not just claim what was nt there.

Please, dont bring common sense into the quran and hadith interpretations. Because i could start in what you believe is your bilble too. To me, it could say if the bible says this then common sense should tell christians so so so. Thats wrong my brother, i find it insulting, respect my religion as i respect yours, its what i believe in and thats what you believe. Thats why its called FAITH!

Again, please i always advice people that really want to understand or learn more about our belief to start from the Quran itself the transliterated copy. I bet you its more educative than this online arguements and all.
Thanks

Family › Re: Discussing Financial Troubles In Marriage by greetings(f): 7:29pm On Dec 23, 2014
From personal experiences, it depends on the man, and the kind of financial relationship they want to have. Finance can make couples closer and on another hand lead to divorce. Trust is key, a woman that truly loves and trusts her man will shoulder any responsibility thrown her way. Women have deep emotions and most of their actions and reaction comes from that. If she bad mouths her husband unnecessarily then she is not virtuous IMO. If despite being the. Breadwinner they are still tight its because the man keeps her happy.

treat a woman well and she will lay down her life for you to be alright.

Islam › Re: How To Get Rid Of Jinn by greetings(f):
O my dear sister, i cannot fully imagine what you are going through. Wish you stay around my location. You need moral, physical and spiritual support, and i think you should be getting that from your nuclear family the most.

First,i think you need to talk to your mum about what you are going through and most importantly get her to believe you. You could even show her this thread to see what people think of your situation. My dear, i cannot overemphasis what the support of your mother would mean, her prayers and supplication sincerely to Allah alone can cause the mercy of Allah to fall on you.

Secondly, get exorcised! I know of a sincere imam personally that does this. Unfortunately, the location is the problem. Try to find one in your area that will put his heart in your case. Most importantly, be steadfast, jinns like toilets, dirty places, dark places. Please avoid these places as much as possible. Stop bathing totally naked from now,and do all the etiquettes of sleeping, changing your clothes and all others where applicable.

Always always do adhkar,as in, in everything you do remember and supplicate to Allah, cry to him to forgive you and have mercy on you, he will answer your prayers. But your strength lies in how strong your faith in Him is. Lah aola wala quwatta illah billah (there is no power and no strength except with Allah), if you keep saying this with conviction in your heart and acts, i believe Allah will favour you.

Lastly, please adhere to strict teachings of quran n sunnah lest you fall into shirk, and remember this is a test of your faith from Allah, dont fail by being impatient in Him.

Am emotional right now, and i could go on and on. Please if you dont mind giving me your number, i could call you. I think you need spiritual n moral support like akanke79 offered. Or you could mail it to me at trxx xx xx. ill be expecting your mail please.

May Allah take away your pains and afflictions. Amin
Islam › Re: Forced Divorce In Islam by greetings(f): 10:44am On Dec 19, 2014
Abuamam:
usermane; you truly have a poor grasp of derivation of Islamic law. Begone.
@op. Here is a fatwa on parents coercing their sons into divorce.
" Praise be to Allaah.
According to the most correct opinion, it is not permissible to divorce a woman
without a valid reason, because this is unjust to the woman and causes the
blessing of marriage to be lost for no reason, and the break up of a family with
which Allaah had blessed the sons of Adam, as Allaah says (interpretation of the
meaning):
“And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among
yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you
affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who
reflect” [al-Room 30:21]
Obedience to one's parents should only be with regard to things that are right
and good, that Allaah and His Messenger love. It is not permissible to obey them
with regard to something that Allaah and His Messenger have forbidden, as the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is no obedience
to anyone if it involves disobedience towards Allaah; obedience is only with regard
to what is right and good.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim from Ali, may
Allaah be pleased with him).
And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning);
“But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that
of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not; but behave with them in the
world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in
obedience” [Luqmaan 31:15]
No kafaarah is required from either the mother or the father, apart from tawbah
(repentance) and istighfaar (seeking forgiveness); they should also try to put
matters right and bring people together again. If they do this, they will have a
reward (from Allaah). Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah
(charity in Allaah’s Cause), or Ma‘roof (Islâmic Monotheism and all the good and
righteous deeds which Allaah has ordained), or conciliation between mankind; and
he who does this, seeking the good Pleasure of Allaah, We shall give him a great
reward” [al-Nisa’ 4:114]
And Allaah knows best." Sheikh al-Munajjid. www.islamqa.info/en/6315
Note that the parents cannot divorce on their son's behalf without his consent. This fatwa talks only about the degree to which he should be influenced in the matter by his parents.
Seconded! A man's parents can only advise him to divorce his wife, not them writing a divorce letter to the woman or her family. In this case, the man is to follow the procedure according to sharia when divorcing his wife. Even though he calls the father in law to say he has abided by his parents advice, he still has to call his wife and inform her of his decision. without that, the marriage is still valid?

Sometimes i wonder, i mean,i just wonder why people come here with half baked info and decide to use such info to argue BLINDLY.

Generally speaking, if you are reading this and you wanna learn about islam sincerely, start with the quran itself. Pick a good transliterated quran (not online o) and read. If it is the life of a muslim around that intrests you get closer to the person and ask question,go to reputable imams and ask questions.

Empiree: Stop sweet-talking things. You are only seeking discord among muslims
I don't believe he is sweet talking, or seeking discord among muslims.
I believe he is simply stating his opinion based on his experience.

Meanwhile, i do believe that some muslimahs do it on purpose, to avoid some religious obligations or whatever their reasons are. I knew one that usually says she has to marry a non muslim o, cause she cant fast. So you can imagine how something so trivial can instigate this. These happens because of lack of understanding or in some cases lack of acceptance of the religion to begin with.
Islam › Re: A Discussion On Muslim Women Marrying Non-muslim Men by greetings(f):
This is going to be a very interesting topic.

for me, way forward is simple, avoid marrying a non muslim. Problem solved.

will elaborate insha Allah.

Modified .......

Being a muslim woman means submitting to Allahs will first. His love should come first in your heart, by so doing you choose a spouse that you know deep in your heart Allah is pleased with.

Apart from this,i believe that if you are a true and practicing muslimah, you would find it hard to date, not to talk of marrying a non muslim. And do not enter into such relationships with something like "i can change him". Its a trap from shaytan.

If you do marry a non muslim, what it means is that ;

One, you gradually lose your spirituality and closeness to Allah. For Gods sake, the man that is supposed to wake u up for fajr is snoozing it away. The man that is meant to take you to usrah is on his way to church service. The man that is supposed to stop you from doing haram things doesn't even know what that means to begin with.

Two, you have conflicting interest, he doesn't understand your islam like you do. For instant, you wake up in the morning and he says its action time, meanwhile its fajr time. He cannot understand why you would choose some morning exercise over him. It can gradually cause a rift.

Three, you just might eventually have to drop your islam for him. Trust me, he will tell you, you can practice your deen, marry you and when you drop baby number one, he or his family members will tell you, you have to change or......... you can guess the remaining. Atlast, you either lose your marriage or your deen.

Lastly and most dangerously, your children and generations become confused beings, is it mummy or daddys religion? Sometimes they become so confused they choose to become atheists. Cause they cant understand; if both your religion is better why did you marry each other. Trust me they will ridicule the both religion in the long run.

My question with all these points is, so whats the point?

I hope from all my implicating points above, i have been able to convince and not confuse you that the only solution is to avoid at all cost marrying a non muslim.

Thank you.

You know there was this post sometimes ago about an abused woman that wrote a letter/will to her husband incase she dies, which she certainly saw coming. This reminds me so much of it. The husband virtually drained life outta her. But she stayed and payed with her life. And guess what the husband is v. Much alive, prolly even settled down with anoda woman.

My point is, love yourself first. When your gone, its done. There is nothing left to fight. Take care of your health, your mind, and then your children. I need you to believe that God will fight for you, compensate you and vindicate you, but you need to be alive for that to happen.

Please be strong and practical.. The only thing that is certain is that time will tell. But in that time, occupy yourself by focusing on getting well and raising your kids(trust me you never feel youve invested too much in them coz dey will never abandon u like their father).

I could go on n on. I wish i could give you strength right now. Please stay strong.

Secondly, why should we worship Him when he doesn't need our worship?

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful. i believe Allah created us because He loves us. When Adam was created, he was placed in jannah and because Allah loved Adam a.s he created for him Hawaa(adam's wife). Allah placed adam in jannah. Jannah is a magnificent place to be placed in. This therefore means to me that Allah intended for us to be happy always, cause the first thing He did when He created Adam is place him in jannah. Allah gave adam a free will that hethe name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful. In my opinion i believe Allah created us because He loves us. Allah gave adam a free will that he did not give the angels,so adam would do as he wished when in jannah, and he gave adam knowledge. That shows you how much Allah loved Adam, he therefore also loves adam's descendants very much.

To ask yourself why did Allah create me and place me on earth and put all these negative feelings in me and obligations, is human but comes from the shaitan. You ask, why did Allah create me?why didnt i get to have a say on whether i should be created or not, what use is there for my creation, when Allah has no need of my worship, thats true. Allah has no need.PERIOD!!!, but lets go back to the beginning of creation.

Say when adam was created, and was placed in jannah with his wife, he didn't disobey Allah, and shaitan also did not disobey. We wouldn't be discussing this cause we would be busy in all the delights in jannah.imagine being brought to existence just so that you are put in pure bliss and happiness. Adam was tricked and disobeyed and as Allah's will, because Allah wills what He wants to will and it isn't for us to question Allah, He willed we come down to earth. And because He loves us, he created a world for us and senses and knowledge to utilize and comprehend this world. And gave us guidance by sending prophets to remind us of our origin, this too is an assistance and mercy from Allah cause when He told us to descend He would have left us without guidance and prophets and thus all of us would live in a chaotic world that has no good in it, a world that is a literal hell, because man is like an animal and worse without guidance,if you don't trust me go to somalia or countries with collapsed governments and when you're violated go to the lawless government to help you. I think you get my point.!

Now this world in itself is jannah but we are the ones that made it hell. The guidance He sent us is to guide the soul back to bliss, back to happiness when the souls was with its lord, because just as our physical body needs food, the soul needs its Creator because it originated from Him.So this guidance is in form of dikr and prayer and good deeds, how else would we know about this without Allah, subhanallah.when adam was in jannah he was sinless and the soul was near its Lord so there wasn't these acts of worship, but now that the soul has descended, its still need to be near its Lord, thus these acts become necessary, not because Allah will benefit(a'udubilah) but because the soul will benefit, it is its nature to crave for nearness to its lord and without Allah the soul will die.

So when Allah s.w.t, all praises and thanks be to him says in His Most noble Qur'an,that He did not create man and jinn except that they may worship him. This is so, and Allah knows best, for our sake, because He loves us He wants life for our souls. If we go against the souls true need for Allah, we bring about unhappiness. So why DID Allah create us? He created us cause He wanted to create us. He brought us from nothingness and elevated man to high level. He is Great and infinite and to ask that will cause doubt in our hearts and to question Allah which is un-Islamic and ingratitude. We do not ask why Allah did something, we believe in him and His infinite knowledge and Allah is All Good and Merciful and Oft forgiving. If you ask me, asking such questions makes us ever more ungrateful, and we do not deserve to be existent if we result to questioning Allah. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls. May He guide as and give us life, And May He forgive us our endless countless sins.ameen

Qur'an [21:23]
He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.

Qur'an [44:38]
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.

NL member: ^^^You said before that if you believe in Allah and worship him then he will make it easy for you.
How will Allah know those believers and worshippers that will strive through hardships for him if he makes it easy for them?

And Allah doesn't need our worship for anything so I wonder why it is so crucial for humans to sacrifice their comfort and ease to worship him.
how will Allah know those believers and worshippers that will strive through hardships for him if he makes it easy for them?
What I said is IF you believe He Will make it easy for you,the first condition is to believe then worship which means you are obeying. Hence you have strove hard to attain paradise. Which means he has tested you have shown obedience, definitely Allah is the helper of the believers.
Because he has tested you already, the first test is to show your faith in Him. Which you have passed then he makes the rest easy for you. A believer Will only feel it is easy because he has believed. Note that a believers intention has been followed by actions.Example is prophet Ibrahim a.s whom Allah ordered to sacrifice his ONLY son and he told his son who even encouraged him. He was about to slaughter him when Allah stopped him. Verily, you can imagine how hard this is for both of them but they obeyed and Allah made it easy for both of them. Why? They strove and believed and had faith.
Another case was when Ibrahim a.s was to be burnt and he did not hesitate, this is the height of faith he had shown,he did not even try to run away, and Allah made it easy for him by commanding the fire not to burn.
Hence,If you believe in him he shall make it easier for you to attain paradise.
i hope this answers your first question.
Ps,second answer coming up please.

NL member: ^^^ So allah makes it easy for those that believe and fear him? I still don't understand, why would he make it hard for anyone to attain paradise when he knows how terrible hell is? Is he deliberately trying to make sure many people end up in hell?

The question I am asking is
Why did Allah make it difficult to attain paradise?
WHY?
because he could have left it the way he made it initially, ie easy to enter, instead he changed it and made it hard to the point that Jubril commented that no one will enter paradise because of the difficulty involved.

Why did Allah do it? Or this one of those questions in Islam that have no answers?
This question is like asking why jamb set their cutoff mark so high when they can put it at 0? Are they deliberately trying to make sure many people end up dropouts? Certainly not. The reason is obvious!

Why?
To see who would truly strive to obey him and consequently enter jannah. It would also prove that those who enter jannah are truly worthy of it. Not everyone is worthy.
The hadith you quoted is to make us understand that if you search for worldly desires one shall surely enter fire but when you worship even in difficulty you shall surely attain paradise.

Like i said earlier its a test for mankind to see how we use our freewill. Either good or bad there is a reward; paradise and hellfire. The reward for this worldly desire is hell. I noticed you have Read the quran, but please read up Surat at-takathur again,(Surat 102). Confirming that worldly desire(lust) only leads to hell.

Illustration;
When we prepare for exams,we keep distractions away to focus on our goal which is to pass or at least get the cutoff mark. We strive day and night to make sure we do.
Then the examiner sets the exams so that only those who truly studied Will pass. To show the brilliant ones.
Its a test!

I hope this answers your question.
Islam › Re: Ask Your Questions About Islam And Muslims Here. You Are Highly Welcome :) :) by greetings(f): 12:14pm On Jun 27, 2013
NL member: Ok I understand your answer.
Allah wants us to find it difficult to worship him that's why he made it hard to attain paradise after making it easy initially.
If you believe and worship Allah swt verily he shall make it easy for you to attain paradise.
Allah gave us freewill Because He wanted to test us and see how much we love and fear him. I believe He made it unpleasant to those who would disobey.remember that Islam is a way of life, a complete one at that, and in every action there is a reward either good or bad. Which would be judged according to your intention. Example when you say lailahillallaah (there is no god except Allah) a tree is planted for you in paradise.but you have to not only say it mean it and act it. Even you earn a reward for removing a stone from the road. How easy is that you May ask? It Will depend on how you use your free Will. This Will lead you to attain paradise.

The same applies for the creation of shaytan and allowing him to whisper is a test of our faith and piety hence the aim of this world which is to worship and obey Allah alone not shaytan.
It is not hard to attain paradise,it depends on how you perceive worshiping Allah;hard or easy? Use your freewill to chose the right one.

I ask Allah to give you the hidaya to understand Islam and obey Him. On your part please open your heart, read the quran and do not use your wisdom to explain ayat and hadith, use the word of Allah to understand the word of of Allah. Verily if we were capable of using our own knowledge to relate with and govern ourselves justly there would be no need for Islam. We r simply not capable!
i hope that answers your questions.
Islam › Re: Why Do Muslim Ladies Wear Hijab? by greetings(f): 10:41am On Jun 27, 2013
If you look at history, to ancient civilizations, you will find that women were the oppressed people. They had no individual merit. The Babylonians used to punish the woman for her husband's mistakes. The ancient Egyptians did the same. Ancient Arabs buried their newly born daughters.

It was Islam that uplifted the status of women. It gave women rights they never had before. Surah Nissah exhorts believing men to lower their gaze if a lady is passing by. (because she is to be RESPECTED) Similarly, there are exhortations for women to lower their gaze if strange men are around. The Quran also speaks about the hijab for men and women to protect the modesty. The hijab for men is to cover their bodies minimally from their navel to the knees. The hijab for women is to cover their whole bodies except for their faces and hands below their wrists. There are descriptions for a female hijab, that it should cover the endowments including head, not be tight, not be transparent, not be like the clothes of non-believers, and not be like the clothes of the other gender, etc. Women got the right to own, inherit property, and to dispose it of at will.

Let me ask you a question: Suppose two identical twin sisters are walking down a street, and one of them is dressed in revealing clothing, while the other one is wearing a hijab. Who will be boys in the street whistle at or tease: the one who is scantily dressed in a mini-skirt, or the one who is modestly attired? The answer is obvious. The hijab is designed to prevent women from being molested. It brings peace to society and prevents mischief.
You would agree with me that men are attracted to women mostly because of what they see.sometimes could be just the eyes or even the gap between the teeth, confirming that all parts of woman's body is her awrah (unclothedness). What the woman above is wearing is called burqa or niqab. It is a cover for her unclothedness and she chose to obey Allah, she used the freewill given to her in the right way. She wasn't forced.
As Shifaa bint Abdullahi was appointed by Umar (ra) as officer in charge of marketplace and most likely the first woman to hold a public office in makkah.Islam gave her those rights even when she was previously subjugated.
Lastly, you asked why Muslim women cover with masks the answer is above. And i hope it answers your question.
Islam › Re: Sisters Discuss Issues And Questions Here Relating To Feminity And Islam. by greetings(f): 4:03pm On Jun 26, 2013
Second question, Its a misconception.

The angels do not enter a house in which there is a statue, picture (image) or a dog. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image.”
(Narrated by Muslim, 2106)
this hadith did not include uncovered women hence that view does not hold because if it was forbidden the prophet pbuh would have stated so.
Ps.i know the thread is old,but didn't want the questions left unanswered.
Salam.

Sis zayhal, to you first question about beads used to beautify the hair I'll refer to a similar fatwa which i believe covers your question;
Al-Bukhaari (5937) and Muslim (2122) narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “May Allah curse the one who adds hair extensions and the one who has them added, the one who does tattoos and the one who has them done.”

Muslim (2126) narrated that Jaabir ibn ‘Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade women to attach anything to their head.

This is general in meaning and applies to anything that may be attached to the head. Hence some of the scholars are of the view that it is haraam to attach string, fabric and the like to the hair;others are of the opinion that what is haraam is attaching har to it.
Al-Qaadi said: With regard to tying strings of coloured silk and the like which does not resemble hair, that is not prohibited because it does not come under the heading of attaching hair extensions and it does not serve the same purpose as hair extensions; rather it is done for the purpose of beautification and adornment. In the hadeeth it states that doing hair extensions is a major sin for which the one who does it is cursed; it also shows that the one who helps in doing something haraam has a share of the burden of sin with the one who does it, just as the one who helps in an act of obedience has a share of the reward. End quote.
If the hair ties asked about here include hair that is mixed with the hair on the head so that it appears to be attached to it, then it comes under the heading of hair extensions which are haraam.

And Allah knows best.
