LFA was never meant to be a mass production car. Those things go for 500k these days. MSRP was 375k, I believe, and Lexus was still losing money on every unit sold.
Yeah that's true.
Imagine they're even appreciating lol.
I even heard they sold at least 4 brand new LFAs last year can you imagine??, BRAND NEW!!!!!. There are still brand new LFAs.
Car TalkRe: Best Sounding Production Cars(w/pictures) by gremp(op): 6:41pm On May 15, 2020
Gabapentin:
i disagree that the LFA was unsuccessful, the LFA was a halo car for Lexus, much like the R8 was a halo car for Audi, halo cars are not really financially sound decisions, their worth is measured more in the awareness and brand recognition they create, than the profits they bring in

the problem is that unlike the R8, the LFA is so expensive that most owners just garage them, LFAs are like unicorns, you know they are cool and you've seen them in pictures, but you don't actually know anybody who owns one
Yeah, it was a halo car but unlike the R8 it was limited to 500 cars made and it didn't really boost recognition for lexus because the hype generated by the LFA was wasted since the follow up cars (the LC and RC models) were not as exciting as the LFA (though I love the LC 500).

So true, they're actually unicorns cry .
Car TalkRe: Best Sounding Production Cars(w/pictures) by gremp(op): 6:32pm On May 15, 2020
Themandalorian:
The LFA could have been more successful if Lexus didn't take too long to develop it. By the time they were done, faster and better cars were already available. 10 years was just too long but at the same time it's a concept car it wasn't built for success but for the world to take a look and in this case listen to it and behold it beauty or orgasmic sound grin grin.

Things are not looking good truly. In the near future all cars will have to be electric. I can't even imagine such a future cry
That sound is just kiss ...

Quick 0 to 60 times but soulless... The electric future is so sad for car purists.
Car TalkRe: Best Sounding Production Cars(w/pictures) by gremp(op): 2:22pm On May 15, 2020
Themandalorian:
That LFA in my opinion is the best sounding V10 ,period. Lexus really did a good job with that car. I hope their next concept car is as great as the LFA.
I doubt, the LFA was not successful and with all these stricter regulations... Things are not looking too good for car purists cry .
The LC will continue to be their flagship car in the foreseeable future.

Do you love Naturally Aspirated engines (NA)??.
Do you love luxurious cars?
Do you love reliable cars?
Do you love cars that are close in specifications to Aston Martins but half the price??
Well this car got you covered.

Lexus LC 500.
Powered by a 5.0L Naturally Aspirated V8 making 471 horses and 398 lb-ft of torque or a 3.5L V6 for the hybrid variant making 354 combined horses and 369 lb-ft of torque.

With a 0 to 60 time of 4.8 seconds for the petrol version and 5.3 seconds for the hybrid version.

Not fast but you need to hear this car redline or downshift. That's what a car is about, the driving pleasure and this car is no slouch when it comes to that. A purist GT car. The engine note is just....

The last of its kind in this times of strict regulations cry .
I just love this car kiss .

My brother owns a Jaguar XF supercharged 2009... Its been a year plus 6 month.... We haven't gone to the mechanic for once.. Everything is perfect.... So y'all should stop all that unreliable shit... You dont own nor have ever owned a jaguar.. So STFU
How rude...
You say your brother owns one, good for him.
Well I guess he represents all Jaguar owners righthuh. Just because he hasn't had problems with his car that does not mean the Jaguar brand as a whole is reliable.

I get my claims from insurance companies data pool who help people insure their vehicles and Jaguar is one of the worst reliable car brands.

And have you heard of J.D Power Rankings??, please research about all this before insulting me because I don't make claims without researching first.
Thank you.
Car TalkRe: Facts About Jaguar Car by gremp(m): 11:54am On May 14, 2020
I liken British cars to glass cups, beautiful, machined but delicate and I liken Japanese cars to wooden cups, beautiful sometimes but far less likely to break and cheaper.

If you check some insurance companies data pool you'll find out that most British luxury cars are unreliable based on the fact that most of their parts are made up of rare materials and take a very long time to make hence high repair cost.
Does that mean they're less good??, No but
findings have shown that those who own them have at least 6 cars on average so if it breaks down they have options, but that doesn't still detract from the fact that they're unreliable.
The only British brand I can still reconcile with is Rolls Royce, they're built like tanks.
Bentley, Aston Martin, Range Rover.... Once you're out of warranty you know the drill cool .

They are. And GM's Alpha platform is one of the best out there. Cars like the ATS are generally considered to handle better than the BMW 3-series, so the current Camaro isn't just a dumb muscle car; it's a legit sports car.

The C8 is incredibly impressive. Excellent on both drag and strip. Launches like a beast, wtf. Look at how it takes off versus the GT500 here. The Shelby does catch up after but that's just due to having over 250 HP more. I can't wait for the Z06. Even with just 650 HP, I can see it absolutely demolishing any car under 200k.

The C8 isn't the first car to have that steering wheel. Hardly something to be annoyed by imo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8kzfBW1a9g
Mid-engined Camaro coming 2023 though shocked .
C8 is definitely going to overturn some tables but people will still go for the giants (though they'll take considerable sales hit) because they're exclusive, those C8's will probably be like Toyotas in the sense that there'll be a lot of them and little distinction between them except you mod yours.

Aaaaahhhh, right now that steering wheel disgusts me... angry

You need to take away all these emotions and apply logic to things before writing them down or saying it. Learn to research properly also, it will help you.

And o yes, even the Brits and Americans knows modern day Jaguar Land Rovers are very unreliable and terrible brands. Those who buy them do so for brand loyalty or just to belong to a 'clique'.

Is Land Rover and Jaguar unreliable and terrible? YES!

would Kingreign love to own a couple of them despite their terrible nature? UNAPOLOGETIC YES
Mr, sir, bro, my g, eyan mi....

Nice.
I've heard about Camaro but are they reliablehuh, As per we're in Nigeria oooo grin .
And what are your thoughts on the new C8 Corvette??, I would've loved it, a mid-engined car starting at $60,000 when its mate are starting at $180k(Audi R8, McLaren 570s etc), 0-60 3 seconds flat w/launch-control but never ever has a cars steering wheel made me dislike a car so so much as this C8 is doing right now, what's up with that squarcicle angry .

Another one of my dream cars.

Here's the W204 C63. It doesn't have as much torque as the W205 C63, and the exhaust note isn't quite as attention-catching, but nothing still beats a big naturally aspirated V8. Turbos essentially act as a muffler, and the W204 C63 had none. Just pure, undiluted displacement.

It's called a C63 and has a 6.3L badge on it, but it's actually a 6.2L V8. The glorious M156.

451 HP, although it maxes out at 510 on the AMG Black Series.
0-60 in about 3.7s
Top speed? 176 MPH

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE74KLXfBmI

I'm of the opinion that the W204 C63 is a better car than the W205. Looks better, too.
My guy, so you love Naturally Aspirated engines too abi cool grin .

Nice dream cars.
I used to love the cars with the lastest technology but now I've come to understand that it's the driving pleasure that's the most important thing.

My dream cars to buy in the future when it has depreciated to the amount I'm willing to spend are Nissan gt-r r35( turbocharged, it's basically a legend), Lexus LC 500 (Naturally Aspirated V8 and it sounds so so great especially when it redlines or downshifts) and probably the Dodge Challenger SRT hellcat Redeye ( the sound of tortured demons is great) if the rumored less drag focused and more athletic model turns out not to be real.

The Wraith is built on the 7-series platform.
The Bentley Bentayga is built on the Audi Q8's platform.
The Bentley Continental GT is built on the Porsche Panamera's platform.

These cars are German now, sir.

McLaren is the only company I'd say is completely British at the moment. Even Aston has a very close relationship with Mercedes.
McLaren, McLaren, McLaren....
It seems they going the British way also (The number of broken down, recalled cars is just surprising...sigh...).
I used to love them a lot, supercars with sub 3 seconds 0 to 60 time at an affordable price compared to the giants Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.
But what is joy if you have such powerful cars but it spends more time in the shop (mechanics shop) than you driving it...

Thank God I've not owned one, I wonder if my mechanic would loan me in this lockdown some of the monthly payment I'd most certainly would've been paying on the Jaguar and if the BRT company would give me discount for being a loyal customer due to the Jaguar being at the mechanics all the time... cry

Jaguar and Land Rover, two renowed unreliable car companies owned by Jaguar Land Rover, which is in turn owned by Chery(A Chinese company) and TATA. I heard that customers protested in China over their poor quality control on the vehicles, can you imaginehuh, In a place known for poor quality products grin .

I'm sure you've heard the adage "If you go off roading in a Range Rover, you'll need a Land Cruiser to tow you back".
And before anyone start praising German cars, please know that even though they're great cars, they're still over engineered with different innovations which means that so many things can go wrong at any time (Which happens unfortunately).
That's why they're great cars to lease not own, because once warranty is over, your wallet is over.

Have you always wanted to hear the sound of tortured demons but could not??

Introducing the Dodge Challenger SRT hellcat Redeye, with this car you can hear that lovely sound anytime you rev it or take it for a drive.
Powered by a supercharged 6.2L V8 rated at 797 hp (594 kW; 808 PS) and 707 lb⋅ft (959 N⋅m) of torque (and some captured demons wink ), it'll propel you to 60mph in 3.6 seconds.

Car TalkRe: Best Sounding Production Cars(w/pictures) by gremp(op):
I'll start with one of my favorites...

Do you know what happens when a car company (Lexus) and a sound company (Yamaha) comes together to create an engine?
A bouncing fully grown Lexus LFA is born.
Made from December 2010 to December 2012 with only 500 made cry .
A Naturally Aspirated 4.8 L 1LR-GUE even-firing V10 pushing 412–420 kW (553–563 hp; 560–571 PS) through a 6-speed Aisin SA6 automated manual.
0-62mph(100km/h) in 3.7 seconds.
That's is one of the best sounding V10 out there, when it screams, it screams like a V10 Formula One car and reliably ( looking at you Lamborghini Aventador).
It had a base price for $375,000 but it's going for above $400k right now.
This is most likely the last of it's kind due to strict emission and sound laws, even Lamborghini and Ferrari are dropping Naturally Aspirated engines for turbocharged hybrids....sigh...(Don't worry planet Earth we'll try our best).
