vannessa7: You forgot that those 90% immigrants in UAE don't insult the original indegens nor call UAE no man's land, they don't wrestle for political prowess with their government and they don't kidnap and commit all sorts of crimes there. We both know what will happen if any immigrant do any of those things, even igbos will not tolerate such that they are doing here in Lagos State in the south east. In as much as OP writeup is ludicrous if not funny, I'm sure something related to what he wrote is in the pipelines for igbo in Lagos if they continue to follow their same way of stepping on Yoruba toes because it's becoming a common knowledge that Igbos are not really a good bed fellow From what you wrote oga you sound so pained. So all its just the igbos that commit crimes in Lagos, or say Lagos is a no man's land? Are igbos the only non Lagosians to have political office or appointments in Lagos? I dont live in Lagos but I learnt Ambode is the only true Lagosian to gave ruled the state since 1999. You see the enmity between the igbos and yorubas is baseless. The youths that champion it today are fools because some dont even have a reason to hate on the tribe except from stupid public opinion. As for you keep blaming the igbos for your woes. Some that are highly impoverished here on nairaland are supporting a deity abi ancestors to win election, they rather suffer and die than see an igbo man rule. Mtcheeeewww!!!! |

Stupid ram who did the igbos vote for in 2015? What about 2019 This is the 1st time the igbos are voting one of their own, and its based on competence, integrity and accountability. Don't be a foolish tribalist. Moreover LP has won a gubernatorial election in the west (Ondo) in 2012. So both Obi and LP is not an Igbo project or Party. |

They use the proceed of that crime to start a life and upgrade into bigger crimes. What we’ll do moving forward in SW we’ll increase our security consciousness and make sure we put a lot of criminals in jail also make laws that’ll prevent anyone without Yoruba name attend our schools. kingthreat: OP, what you are being is a tribalist. Being that is just like racism and nazism, totally evil. Instead of all these bigoted moves, Lagos should move towards a conservative scheme. Take it or leave it, why Lagos is rich is because people from all over Nigeria bring money there, most especially the Igbos. By conservative scheme, so we don't lose our heritage, I advise the below:
1. Let Yoruba language be taught in all public schools till Form 9 as a compulsory subject. 2. Offer incentives for promising Yoruba enterpreneurs to aid their businesses. So they can be competitive with non-Yoruba businesses doing well 3. Let the law and order system be tough. So any non-indigene doing crime be frustrated out of the state. 4. Run cultural programmes and events in the state.
America is great because they have immigrants. That is their edge over Russia and China. Yorubas need others including Igbos. But while welcoming them, it is good to enforce some conservatism so the land and values are not totally lost. While you are talking of Igbos, you have forgotten about the Northern youths. Those ones come in a mob and have been the ones physically clashing in Lagos with the Yorubas more than the Igbos. God bless Nigeria. He is just a bigoted animal. Unashamed to disgrace his ancestors. The UAE is one of the safest and most beautiful country on earth yet has over 90% immigrants from different nationalities not tribes... He thinks if the entire non yorubas leave Lagos, the city will prosper. Well an non traveled inexperienced thug won't understand. It's unfortunate he thinks he is educated. |

Obi is actually the winner of this election no matter the result because he has solidly emerge as the Buhari of the South and Middle belt. He now has a solid political base. All he needs to do now is consolidate against 2027 and look for a strong, influential northerner to pair with preferably from the NC and he'll be the man to beat. If the nation is toppled now, the dream of a SE presidency which all true lovers of Nigeria dream of will become a pipe dream. My two cents Thief... no way. you can't ask him to allow a usurping troll steals his mandate . |
