Tony Elumelu is a billionaire and a public figure, watching him climb a chair is surely newsworthy. If it were you, LibertyFather who climbed same chair, no one will give a flying f**k about it, why? Roland17: I don't disagree with your point of view especially because it is no fault of hers. However, this is about promoting a level playing field for everyone in the competition and the process for inclusion is available. I just ask the IAAF to be very clear and open about the process. Do you really think a measure of this sort would have been considered if Semanya were white? |

raumdeuter: Will there be an official testosterone level to compete in female or male sport?
If a male is found to have too low of these, can he be sent to the female event? Great questions. Like how are we sure Semenya isn't getting disadvantaged. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 5:54pm On May 01, 2019 |
Roland17: Semenya's is biological while Bolt and Phelps have physical traits. Bolts height, Phelps wingspan can be considered natural physical attributes that do not jeopardize fairness in sports when compared to an abnormal genetic disorder where a woman produces high levels of testosterone and still competes with other women who do not have that advantage.
I am leaning with the IAAF in this case. The basic question here is, will her DSD give her an unfair advantage over other female athletes during competitions? If yes, then, the IAAF has made the correct decision. As men, we all know the relevance of high testosterone levels especially in the development of strength and muscle mass.
For the sake of fairness to Semenya, I hope the process of reducing her testosterone levels before international competitions will keep her in compliance and not break the drug testing policies and procedures of the IAAF. The process has to be clear and open. I find it entirely absurd to penalise her for no other reason than the biological traits that she was born with. It is an edge for her, an advantage. She has not cheated, or found to be taking performance-enhancing drugs. Her high level of testosterone is what defines her and that has to be respected. Compelling her to resort to medical interventions before competing is a tad crazy. This is my POV anyway. |

Away from footie, what is your take on the case of Semenya and IAAF? Shouldn't Caster Semenya's physical abilities be celebrated the same way as Usain Bolt's height and Michael Phelps' wingspan are? IAAF will tell you they're protecting the integrity of sports, but man this whole thing reek of discrimination. |

Calling him my god does not conceal the fact that perhaps you think he is yours. I am gravely sorry to disappoint you. In everything you have said up there I am hopeful that somehow Aguero himself did not say he changed his game to suit his manager's style. Imagine if he did. Like you're some Einstein whose mind is capable of casting claims with factual accuracy? You weren't here in 2017, when Raumdeteur was ranting of how finished Aguero's career was, labelling the Argentine a profligate striker whose skillset won't see him lead the line ever. raumdeuter: There is a reason Aguero is gettingbenched for Argentina and its not Pep
Aguero skillset isnt suited to play as a lone striker and most formations nowadays cant accomodate 2 strikers Like that wasn't enough, Mr Raumdeteur the false prophet extended Kun's 'finishing' to the Argentine team, citing how Higuan has kept him out of the starting XI, because the former was simply a profligate forward. raumdeuter: This na lie.
Below is the Argentine team that reached the last Copa America fina, and they knew where to fit Aguero and its on the BENCH

Aguero has been banging in goals ever since, leading the line despite possessing a skillset that can only thrive in a two-man attack, reducing your god to Ramdaughter and slamming close the gob of African Crouch. |

gensteejay: Forget semantics; juju, voodoo; jazz were terms coined to describe supernatural occurrences that people don't understand. All such phenomena seem to defy logic till science unravels the mystery behind their occurrence, and they become normal happenings.
In the 19th century or thereabout, when Catholicism held sway in Europe, when the popular notion held then by people concerning the relative position of the Earth, the Sun and the other planets in our solar system, was that the Earth is the center of the Universe, with the Sun and other planets revolving around it — Geocentric Model; religionists then considered the Heliocentric Model postulated by Copernicus then as illogical, heretical. Today, it's now common knowledge that the Sun is the center or core of our Universe , with Earth and the other planets revolving round it — as expounded in the Heliocentric Model of Copernicus.
Such is the nature of knowledge and discoveries: They all seem to defy common sense and logic until they are investigated further, scientifically. A slew of things we take for granted now as normal occurrences used be termed supernatural, hundreds of years ago, thanks to science we now know better. Religion is the problem, has always been. Nothing in religions can be logical when holy books are full of half-truths, lies, and errors in a bid to conceal knowledge from people and have it confined within a select few. I don't think any reasonable person can see the tripe in religions as logical and rational. Tosh! No single person is qualified to be an authority on this kind of issues. So your account, offered without evidence, is not enough to show all you said is veracious. Religion is the problem, has always been. Most of the things we know about death in religions are pure lies, meant to keep people in check. I know there are people with rare powers. I prefer not to call them witches as they may not fit into the typical description of witches in Africa. There are people that can do tricks in magic, entering the mind of others to twist their reality as they see fit and make them see illusions as real. Some people can see future things in dreams, can enter dreams of other people to pass certain message to them or scare them (pastors and imams do this a lot to trick their sheeple into thinking they have one spiritual problem or the other). There are people that can interact with beings in other dimensions (worlds). Such people can communicate with the dead, who are in other worlds different from ours (necromancy). I feel with time, some scientific facts (para-sciences) will be known about some of these things. But some may be necessarily hidden from the majority of people. Yes, there are a number of mysteries in the world. And there are superstitious beliefs as well. Some of these things are equally coincidences. They may not be what they appear to be. Ok. With time, we will be able to separate the truths from half-truths, and outright lies. Bro, I am not rich but I can afford to wire you some funds. I just need to know how much it costs to drive from Ijebu to Aba. From the deepest part of my heart, I want you to suffer madness for a day. |

gensteejay: You don't seem to understand the position of raumdeuter, and others like myself on this issue. For any claim of Voodoo potency to be taken as a fact, it has to be able to pass the test of scrutiny, test of logic, has to be backed by concrete evidence, and must be reproducible.
Our approach to this issue should be a scientific one, so hearsay and those tales of juju people narrate don't meet these criteria.
So far, nobody has been able to back their claims about the potency of juju with clear-cut evidence. Personally, I am looking for real accounts of juju potency so I can investigate them and maybe relate them to phenomena in the sciences, perhaps quantum physics or relativistic physics.
But I haven't made much progress about that because out of like 10 cases of juju that one hears, for example, 9 could be exaggerated or outright lies, and the remaining one that is not bogus might just be a scientific phenomenon, not yet fully understood by us, that needs further investigating.
In my spare time, I do research on paranormal/spiritual concepts, like teleportation, kanakoo in Yoruba (there are reports our forefathers used this juju or technique to cover long distances in short times), time travel, out-of-body experience (OOBE).
I follow research of scientists and parapsychologists on these aspects.
There are different accounts of people that narrate how all these extraordinary feats have been, or are being, achieved by people with voodoo. I am usually skeptical about such stories, unless I see verifiable proof.
I try to look at these things using a scientific approach so that if such powers exist in reality, they can be reproduced at will, anytime, the way we use technologies like phones, laptops, etc.
As an example: Teleportation, or what is called ofe in Yoruba, could be a phenomenon that is scientific in nature and we haven't yet fully understood it, which is why we call it a spiritual concept.
Some scientists have proposed the concepts of white hole and wormhole (or Einstein-Rosen Bridge) in relativistic physics to find a physical basis (explanation) for the occurrence of teleportation. A lot of research is still ongoing and needs to be done here.
Understanding how ofe occurs, scientifically, could help us travel to other planets faster and easier and aid time travel, just to mention few benefits of such technology.
I feel in the near future, scientists will record breakthroughs here.
By using the scientific approach to look at these things, one can separate plausible claims of extraordinary feats (juju), such as teleportation, time travel, OOBE or NDE from those ones that seem like exaggerations, such as stories about use of pants, humans, body parts for money ritual; witchcraft; illusions and tricks of magicians; and other common stories we regularly hear about. raumdeuter: I am only interested in things people witnessed with their own eyes and can be reproduced with evidence And there lies the problem. How do you two expect juju - a category of beliefs and practices considered separate from religion and science, to travel in tandem with logic? Just as many believe that by praying to a supreme creator, good things will come their way, juju doesn't require a straightforward explanation for its potency. Just like religion, its practices defies logic. You two have been clamouring for evidences, and here am I to tell you authoritatively that i've seen black magic become a credible cause for diseases, bad luck, sudden death, impotence and other such misfortunes, and these weren't stories passed to me by my forefathers. Following the death of my mother, my family had to 'reach' for answers to her sudden demise. I've in the past heard of such things, but here was I firsthand, hearing my late mother's voice from a hiding, retelling of her death and who was behind it. Naturally, this should have scared the shiat out of me but it didn't, why? Because im coming from a community whose cultural framework includes a black magic worldview. See, where I come from, this thing you two are dropping big big grammers over is as common as drinking water and dropping your cup. Same way witchcraft practice seem more like a lifestyle in Edo State. Here's a report of a native doctor who before his death warned his family not to invite a pastor to his funeral. Check for yourself what transpired on the day of the funeral: www.newsexpressngr.com/news/detail.php?news=5335&title=Pastor-drops-dead-while-conducting-funeral-of-herbalist-who-preferred-traditional(non-Christian)-burial%3Fpr=39109&lang=en, and this is just one report out of the gazillion reports out there. See, where I come from, if you die while still being a witch, native doctor or a sorcerer, and some ritual rites aren't performed before your burial, the land will reject your corpse, and this happens in the form of your burial ground collapsing a day after you were lowered 6ft deep. I've seen this happen once. Where I come from, native doctors are occasionally pitted against each other in a contest for supremacy. During this age long 'festival', cameras aren't permitted within the area neither are women and children allowed entrance into the scene. On that very day, all manner of black magics are displayed by these native doctors, and I tell you none of them agrees with logic. I mean, how do you explain a man who got decapitated reappearing from the backyard minutes later with his head intact with his body? Where I come from, an uncle died just days after burning a coven. Prior to his demise, he was severely warned about carrying out his plans to clear the bush where witches were believed to hold meetings in the community, but man won't have any of that, he believed the God he worships can't let him down. Like they say, the rest was history. Oga the day I realised that logic has no answers to these things, was the day I left my father's house and my community. It was the day I realised that its much better to die while striving to have ends meet in a foreign land than to be a victim to these things. No allow small travel to America reset your brain about what we Africans are capable of doing. As I type this, Ghana has become a stomping ground for every yahoo yahoo guy who intends to back his hustle up with the supernatural. My guy in Tema will tell me that native doctors over there in GH advertises their services even on national TVs, and dammit, boys are patronising them and dammit it works, albeit along with its consequences. Devil dey, don't even argue it! |
