Well. . . Burnley were attacking very well for a lot of the game but those long balls were also a defensive tactic. They stretched the play. |
Leicester City, Champions to Champions League to Championship? Poor Ranieri. |
PietroRico:Not at all. Stoke don chill since Hughes took over. They've abandoned their identity for something different. Burnley are the new hatchet men of England. These modafvckers don't care what the possession says, they just want to break your shin. Gaddamit! |
2points dropped. Race is on. |
These people don frustrate us tire. |
Ibime:Yeah. Just noticed. |
Looks like a 4-man backline now. |
Moses? Lets see how this plays out. |
Assemblage of the dirtiest players in the EPL #BurnleyFc |
Thank you Conte. Good sub. |
Kuku bring out Matic. The midfield battle isn't too serious, they're attacking us with the long balls. Cesc's creativity is needed. |
Omo which kain defending be this? |
Lets go there. |
I was at the Chelsea training ground last week to see Eden Hazard and noticed Kante wandering back to the changing rooms. So i went over to him and stood in front of him. And I poked him in the chest. I had to, just to check if he was real! "You are real, you are!" I said, and he laughed. Kante reads mistakes before they've been made. He reads the ball before the ball knows where it is going! People talk about a striker's sixth sense in the area. N’Golo has that all over the park. It's why Chelsea are unstoppable. He's everywhere, his stats are amazing: Top of tackles, interceptions, distance run....I reckon he could ref the game too. He has zero flaws. I keep thinking, surely he's going to lose the ball this week? Nope. Or get angry with the ref? Nope. Maybe he'll be tired? Nope - Thierry Henry Honestly, if someone of TH14's calibre showers me with these sorta punchlines, I reckon I'll go a week without eating. Just check out the emboldened, dammit! |
Nihilist:Sometimes it feels like he is dead but I dont want to believe he is ![]() |
nateevs:I am a proponent of pragmatism in football. I advocate for it day and night. If you disparage that theory, I'll be quick to call you out. I dont rate managers who live and breathe fantasism. Pep is one name, Wenger is the other. It's nothing personal, it is just me servicing my belief. Thank you. |
bykebyke:Coogar of blessed memory taught something great, to always beat my opponents into submission. Do yourself and the tens of the Barca fans who've been facilitating your idiocy with their likes and shares a huge favour by giving up, don't force it, just give up. Accept that Pep is a fraud and that his salvation has ruined your thinking process over the years. Repeat those lines seven times, wash your hands with water and take a long walk of shame back to your thread. |
bykebyke:Not to worry, I've got more blahs coming your fvcking way nitwit. I argue with facts hombre. Bayern are free of Guardiola's chains, says Scholl www.goal.com/s/en/news/725/bundesliga/2016/08/27/26915902/bayern-are-free-of-guardiolas-chains-says-scholl Franz Beckenbauer has criticised the style of play employed by Pep Guardiola at Bayern, warning no one wants to see Bayetn play like Barcelona www.futaa.com/news/bayern-legend-blasts-guardiola-tactics Pep Guardiola's tactical training is leaving Man City players exhausted, says fitness expert Raymond Verheijen https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/2018599/pep-guardiolas-tactical-training-is-leaving-man-city-players-exhausted-says-fitness-expert-raymond-verheijen/ Guardiola is a young coach with a lack of experience - Ribery www.express.co.uk/sport/football/694183/Bayern-Munich-Franck-Ribery-Manchester-City-Pep-Guardiola-Sport-Premier-League-Bundesliga Key ugly word hombre: Tactics! I am not the only one complaining and thinking your idol is boring and limited, even his ex-players and former employers found him uninteresting. They've got a lot of blahs. I can't help but think you've been made to buy into the 'Pep is the master tactician bullcrap' over the years, its normal with gullible unintelligent people who have no mind of their own. Just like you, religious extremists kill and bomb for their religious figure-head, i want to believe you are a victim of the 'Pep is god fraudulent salvation'. But not to worry, you've been enlightened and shown the way, the truth and the life. It would be pertinent that you, Bike man, my friend, give you life to facts and take me as your lord and personal saviour. You don't have to pay for it, salvation is free anywhere in the world. |
bykebyke:I would expect an obnoxious nitwit to reply in these very lines. Just like Pep, you are predictable. Pep has been 'successful' with his boring philosophy no doubt, but can we atleast break those 'successes' down, atleast for the records. At Barcelona At the Nou camp, he inherited one of the best midfield off all-time, comfortably able to rely on the genius of Xavi and brilliance of Iniesta through-out his four-year stay. A base that was put in place by Frank Rijkaard. He also had a certain demi-god in Messi to build the team around. I wouldn't say he doesn't deserve the accolades for making them a team to reckon upon but one easily see that his philosophy was made to look golden by the geniuses at Barca at the time. You'll agree with me that any shrewd manager could have had a nice ride with that Barcelona team. Which gives rise to this one question, could have Pep being successful at Barcelona if he had a less talented team at his disposal? That question would now take us to Bayern. . . At Bayern In some ways, taking over from Juup Heynckes at Bayern represented both the dream n' nightmare scenario for any manager in 2013. The man has just left behind a framework of success but did so by winning a treble - a near impossible feat to top. Pep was appointed to accomplish a simple task; to strengthen the winning stability of the team. Given the absence of genuine competition, winning the domestic title was obviously expected by the fans, it is like their birthright. So the main focus was to tighten Bayern's European dominance. Did he achieve that? Well, he failed miserably at many attempts that he even pondered a sabbatical. At this point, you'd agree with me that Pep failed at Bayern b'cos he couldn't accomplish his primary task. Reality check. Why did he fail at Bayern? 1. Because there were no Barca geniuses to make his tiki-taka crap look golden. And 2. In absence of Barca geniuses, Pep never evolved rather he stuck with the same style that was not working anymore. One would think switching from one formation to another was him making a clever move then but no, that was just Pep showing us the varying versions of his useless tiki-taka. Over the two legs against Athletico that year, Fraudiola was found out by the grit of Simeone. Not to mention the evisceration he received in the hands of Real and Barcelona. Just this season, he was pummeled 4nil by Everton - City's worst defeat in many years. Just this season, he's trailing Chelsea by double figure points and is apparently out of the title race despite being in possession of the best team in the league. All these are highlighting his lack of pragmatism, all these are asking one question, is your idol limited? So when you try to claim Pep's philosophy is a success, be sure you have a solid premise to back that up. |
raumdeuter:There are some errors in reasoning that tend to be psychologically persuasive, logicians call such errors fallacies. And guess what, you commit a hell lot of them all the time. You committed one when you were discrediting Conte's adaptability b'cos he hasn't done anything in Europe (Ad hominem fallacy). I decided to use the same fallacy on Jose who hasn't won the Super Cup. How are we far off? If Conte's circumstantial ad hominem fallacy which you and your bike man played out must stand, why can't Jose's stand? Simple logic sir. |
bykebyke:You must be a miserable son of a lousy c0ck-sucking midget for you to ever try to shut me up. Of course, deploying varying formations is part of managerial evolution but adapting to different styles is actually what makes you a complete manager. Pep might have been rolling out different formations over the years but the tiki-taka has always been his go-to approach. Ball retention, building from the back, closing down the opponent and defending from upfield. Not to mention he would need expensive technically adept players to actualise that. So what is new, if not the same old boring style. Which begs the questions, cant he adapt? Cant he evolve? Is he limited? The likes of Fergie, Carlo, Jose, Conte et al switched styles when it really mattered. Winning by either dominating play or cesseding possession. By going gung-ho or being ultra-defensive. These managers challenged themselves. They were into the business of continous study. They have an answer for every situation and their philosophy is simple, to win. Unless it is a crime to ask, I am going to ask, Is Pep limited? |
raumdeuter:You have a problem with logic and critical thinking and you need to admit it. Where have I argued that Jose isn't successful? You and your bike man from the Barca thread are of the opinion that since Conte hasn't won the UCL, he hasn't been evolving. I brought Mou into the frame and queried; since Jose hasn't won the UEFA Super cup, shouldn't we also discredit his adaptability? It is simple as following your shallow logic but here you are, reeling out trophies and titles. Was that ever the bone of contention? So I ask again, Jose hasn't won the UEFA super cup, should we now conclude that he isn't good enough? |
raumdeuter:Immediately Jose left Chelsea, the team that finished 10th are winning the league. I am sure Jose has not been evolving and he is not a good manager. |
bykebyke: raumdeuter:And one must reach a certain Cup final or even get to win it before we accept he is evolving? You two cant be dumb at this time. There is really no competition in destiny. Conte has always been a manager who shakes things up, right from his days at Bari where he was noted for his unorthodox 4–2–4 formation, a modification of the classic 4–4–2 , to his days at Atlanta, Siena, Juve and the Italian national team. Despite recording so much success with the old ladies with his favoured 3-5-2, he still had to test-run some other formations with the national team, varying between the 3–5–2, 4-3-3, 4-2-4 and 3-3-4. That is evolving; changing with time. He is known for many things and that is what makes him a manager. Jose has been evolving over the years but is yet to win the UEFA Super Cup, do we now say he hasn't been evolving or he isn't good as a manager? Embrace healthy logic dawgs. |
safarigirl:The emboldend disqualifies you from being a good pundit. Your views should atleast be laced with some facts, some sense of objectivity has to be expressed and not the other way round. Nihilist have been arguing with facts. He never said he hated Mikel, he is only being objective which is the central philosophical concept, related to reality and truth. If you must win the debate my dear Safari, you must endeavour to counter his views with your own well drilled facts not your sentiment. So I'm going to make the debate less volatile and ask, what makes Mikel world class? Facts only remember. |
‘I tried to start with four at the back. In my mind this team could play with 4-2-4 and we tried a lot during pre-season to play with this system. We started this season very well because we won three games in a row. Sometimes you can win but you can see it's not right. Because in every game we conceded many chances to score to the opponent. ‘I tried to change the system. I tried to first of all to give a good balance in my team. Don't lose offensively, but to have a defensively situation more correct. And there were players with these characteristics. When you have a good winger and a good number 10 – Hazard, Pedro, Willian – I knew in my head we can change, we can find this new system. - Don Antonio Conte This is a manager who knows what evolution is, not one Spaniard who eats and breathes a certain old philosophy of his. Sticking and dancing around one particular philosophy inadvertently unviels a certain weakness in you - inability to adapt. It is the sole reason why Wenger has been unable to lift Arsenal from the doldrums for ages now, same reason Pep cant deliver when handed a less star-studded side. Your ability to evolve is what makes you a manager. Don Conte is my player year of the season shikena. |
Im seeing why Napoli wanted 50milla for Koulibaly. The guy is literally the heart of their defence line. Great awareness, composure, solid and ruthless. Nigga is honestly the total package. |
madjune:Which one you dey? You want him to take a break from Nigeria's problems yet you're wishing to see him in Aso rock soon. Once he steps into Aso rock, he is stepping back into our problems. He cant run away from his duties. If he isn't competent enough, then he should fucking resign. |
lordfalcao:Na glaucoma dey worry you? I wrote right there, prior to the season of 2013/14, Lacazette never hit double figure anywhere. When he was busy scratching 6 goals a season, Lukaku don already begin bag in goals in double figures for Anderlecht. Them no be mates, so go siddon. |
