Silentgroper: yes ... I'm glad we finally got one whom is statistically on par or more than caicedo .. The only downside is his age .. but I'm pretty sure we'd be getting another prolly in the next tfw or this ..
We still have bajcetic looking to impress and thiago on the side line That Endo guy looks like some sort of adventurous CM. His stats suggest that.

Ibime: I am responsible for what I write not what you understand. Like I said, I have no familiarity with their football clubs, their players or rivalries, not to mention linguistic challenges in differentiating their names. There is no backstory. I know almost all MLS, Mexican and even most South American clubs so I can relate. I would relate more if Egypt was the one importing these players as I know the Zamaleks, Al Ahlys, Ismailys and co. Nothing to do with antisemitism but familiarity. If I ask you to name 3 players from Saudi team at the last World Cup without google, can you? Have you ever watched Asian Champions League much less care about what's going on there? This is possible because you’re a seasoned football fan. Your views about the game are generally informed by a rich history of keen followership. This is unlike most fans who are only interested in seeing their favorite players on the pitch just for that 90minutes. Players database, club forms, league history, league standings, etc don’t appeal to them. The guy that quoted you must belong to this category. |

Ibime: £35m for Lewis Hall is fair.
We should have a buyback for £55m though
Hall has a delivery and final ball that less than 5% of players possess. I always value those players with that delivery Why are we looking at offloading him while letting Cucurella stay? It doesn’t add up. |

Amigoss: Moises Caicedo £110m Mac Allister £35m
Total - £145m
Getting this two from Brighton for this amount with age 21 and 24 is not bad business in this hyperinflated market... You can say that again. |

Getting that profile of DM is near impossible though. That’s a Kante upgrade.
Call 2 players on par with him. Aggression, ball reading, retention and ball distribution. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 1:03pm On Aug 10, 2023 |
Personally, I don’t care about figures anymore. Gone are the days when the decorum tape was played in the transfer market, everyone is now mad.
Get me Caicedo for that 100m along with Adams and I’m fine with that midfield. Lavia is good but he isn’t as combative as Caicedo neither does he possesses the superior ball retention abilities of the Ecuadorian.
From what I saw during the preseason series, Poch’s game encourages his fullbacks to bomb forward. In events where Chilly and James are caught off guard, we can trust Caicedo who’s magnificent in covering ground across the pitch to regain possession quickly and make a transition from defense to attack.
His defensive stats are astounding. Only Fulham’s João Palhinha made more tackles than him in the league last season (144 to 100), and only Declan Rice made more interceptions (63) than him (56). This is like us getting another Kante after losing Kante.
Having this boy and Enzo in one midfield is a scary proposition. Poch knows this, the board knows this and it’s the single reason we are hanging on this deal. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 12:35pm On Aug 10, 2023 |
airmark: Caicedo is more certain than Lavia. Caicedo has been identified as our primary target from day 1. All these Lavia speculations are more of chess moves to move Brighton’s position or to keep Liverpool at bay. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 11:58am On Aug 10, 2023 |
With Adams coming, we can as well forget about the dream of landing Lavia and Caicedo.
It’s either of the duo to join our ranks now. |

Greatihex: Anyone here has link for int'l passport fast track, like 3 days or 2 weeks at most? You must not trust links. Every immigration office runs an “express application”. This only means paying a bit higher than the normal rate for you to have your passport issued within few days. Normal naija mago mago style. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 1:50am On Aug 10, 2023 |
nateevs: I cannot believe we spent the whole window just to get back here. Once the Ugarte deal fell through, a lot of us said go get Lavia and Caicedo. It was a no brainer.
The problem is those are two players who would potentially walk into the first team but have never played together with Enzo. And the first game is already upon us.
It's just taken too long. It has really dragged on needlessly. But what I’m more concerned with at the moment is having those positions addressed ahead of the season and not just about the Liverpool game. |
