Nothing exceptional about this boy we signed, instead his continual charging forward with the ball in a careless manner will be our biggest undoing.
Manyoo are trying to tie up a deal for Amrabat, but here we’re busy chasing shadows and signing calamitous players. |

Unlimited22: What if Poch plans to move Maatsen up the field the way Harry Redknapp did for Gareth Bale? He’s already doing that. He has reiterated how playing in different positions is an edge for Maatsen and how he intends to have him in his plans. Ian finished strongly with Burnley last season, making the Championship team of the season. He can’t go all the way this season, in the same manner Reece, Mount, Tomori and Abraham did. |

hensben: But he played one two pass with Jackson for his goal. Sterling is done and should be sold to free up his wage. Mudryk Jackson Nkunku upfront against Liverpool, Caicedo Santos and Enzo in the middle while James sylva Badiashile Chilwel as back four. The emboldened is my point being made. He should do that more often. Drift infield and get more involved in the play. His geniuses would come alive. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Griffon: 8:21am On Jul 23, 2023 |
TBH, Mudryk hasn’t been doing much as an inverted winger. He just has the potentials to be up there with the likes of Vini, Gnabry, etc but he’s not just there yet.
If he’s going to be anything or better than Vini, then he must know when to use his speed and skill to beat an opponent 1v1, he must know when to roam into those half spaces, he must know when to race in behind to finish off moves and score, lastly, he must also know when to prioritize chance creation and playing passes into the penalty area.
He’s entirely sold on runs and runs. That’s not what boys are doing now. The likes of Foden and Saka aren’t even scared to drift in-field and get involved in the play, but our boy prefers to hug the line more, we’re not living in the days of Gareth Bale anymore. |

They had a field day against Wrexham but are struggling to resist the press of Brighton tonight. Imagine when City or Liverpool calls.

We simply have no reason to keep Sterling. Man contributes nothing offensively and is hardly a handful for defenders.
Nkunku seems to be the only bright spark up upfront for us. I’ll love to see what his linkup play with Jackson would look like. |

BlueAngel444: Is City and PSG target Bradley Barcola better than Rayan Cherki? Cause why are they chasing him and not Cherki? Oga you need to calm down and understand how this works. No bunch of talented unproven youngsters can win the league in a world where billions are rolled out in the transfer market. City and PSG have groups of experienced players who would help their young target settle in their teams, that’s how integration works. Not importing bunch of U21s to come trade tackles in the EPL without a solid core. You must be a big fan of football manager. |

BlueAngel444: "send fear" 🙄😒 Wrexham is Wrexham, has nothing to do with the post
When Chelsea won UCL they didn't need to send fear down anybody's spine, I doubt if arsenal sent fear down anyone's spine apart from playing good football with players previously no one would hype. I remember saying Arsenal would finish top four if they don't win the league during their preseason.
What exactly do you classify as "leaders" Koulibaly or Badiashile, Jorginho or Enzo. I doubt leadership has to do with age, isn't Odegaard captain
Sterling and Nkunku are matured enough to lead ain't they, and lol there names are heavy na
Chelsea needs to be winning games before such things can be said, not by buying expensive players and them playing trash Sterling is leading who? Someone who can’t lead himself? We obviously lack leaders in this squad, players who exude character. Talent isn’t enough, these boys integration should have come with a solid core of experienced players on ground already. Players on a top playing level. How do you win when you are not genuinely strengthening as your opponents? Your opponents are busy getting top players on every position and you’re here giving me reasons why I should accept Santos et al in the middle of the park? This is you plumbing the depth of mediocrity and settling there like the Arsenal of old. I’m sure getting these orgasms from what you only saw against a league two side. Na EPL you dey go play. |

These names look light weight. Not top level yet, we need leaders in this team. You don’t expect names like Santos, Gallagher, Casedei, Chalobah etc, to send fear down your opponent’s spines. Wrexham shouldn’t get you all feeling so cocky. |

I doubt there’s any team out there with a good and sound scouting system than Leipzig.
RB Leipzig's summer so far:
Bought Benjamin Šeško (20, CF) from RB Salzburg. Loaned Fábio Carvalho (20, AM) from FC Liverpool. Bought Loïs Openda (23, CF) from RC Lens. Bought Christoph Baumgartner (23, AM) from Hoffenheim. Bought Nicolas Seiwald (22, CM) from RB Salzburg. Bought El Chadaille Bitshiabu (18, CB) from PSG.
These are hot prospects right up there. In two years time, 100milli would be quoted for each. |

They should sign him, why all d update
🚨 Chelsea are no longer interested in making an offer for Matheus Franca, when the news leaked into the media, they were outraged. (@venecasagrande) #CFC
Quick question How does media affect deals when purchasing a player? Media involvement would have other suitors monitoring the situation, the player’s valuation would go up and the selling club would cash out bigger. |

🚨 💣 Mason Mount’s camp claim the first official offer from Chelsea came in August and represented a £30,000 per week increase on his base salary.
Sources at Chelsea who deny this and insist 4 or 5 offers were made between then and November, all of a similar length and financial package to that signed by James.
Mason Mount is of the opinion Manchester United are in a better position to challenge for major honours now.
There was surprise when, instead of meeting with the co-owners to resume negotiations, Tony Mount found himself asked to attend one with Paul Winstanley.
Following talks prior to the World Cup, there was confidence something would soon be formalised to extend Mason Mount’s deal. Todd Boehly contemplated travelling out to Qatar to get it signed, but Mount made it clear he wanted to focus on the tournament.
The idea was quickly shelved due to it being doubtful that England manager Gareth Southgate would have wanted club matters encroaching on his team’s preparations.
One offer of around £200,000-a-week was made in February 2023 to Mason Mount to extend by a further year to relieve some of the pressure with a view to revisiting discussions over a longer agreement later in the year.
Chelsea sources state the one-year contract also came with a release clause worth £70M, which would have allowed Mason Mount to leave this summer if he so wished.
Chelsea have maintained that Mason Mount’s displays on the pitch did not justify him being paid higher wages than, for example, Reece James.
