Tobexin: if it is Teesside University you can’t get CAS unless three month to your intended resumption date. If your bank is slow in confirming your statement of account it will take ages for you to get the CAS. During my time Teesside’s mail on confirmation of my account statement by GTB was not attended too and it took like one month before I got GTB to reply to the mail sent to them it even took the intervention of a nairalander I met here that works in GTB that helped me. Please I got offer from the same school. Do we have to present an account statement to be issued CAS come June... |

Latest UK Post Brexit Immigration Policy.
Today the Government has published information on the UK’s new points-based immigration system.
This clearly sets out the way forward on our commitment to making a firmer and fairer immigration system, and one which will attract the brightest and best, based on the skills a person has to offer, not their nationality.
Our proposals will see us implement a comprehensive programme of work which will transform the way in which all migrants come to the UK to work, study, visit or join their family.
From 1 January 2021, free movement will end and be replaced with the UK’s new points-based immigration system to cater for the most highly skilled workers, students and a range of other specialist work routes including for global leaders and innovators. All migrants looking to enter the UK to work or study will need to apply for permission in advance.
As we continue to attract the labour force we need to contribute to our economy, our communities and our public services, we intend to create a high wage, high skill, high productivity economy across our United Kingdom.
Skilled workers
For skilled workers, we will introduce a points-based system that is open to EU and non-EU citizens. This will be employer-led, and all applicants will be required to have a job offer by an approved employer sponsor. The job will need to be at a required skill level, and applicants will need to be able to speak English.
From January 2021, those applying will be able to trade points on specific characteristics against their salary. Applicants may be able to earn less than the £25,600 minimum salary threshold if, for example they are working in an industry that has a shortage of workers or they have a PhD.
Global talent
For highly skilled workers, the Global Talent route (which expands upon the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent route) has recently been reformed, removing the cap on numbers and increasing the number of endorsing bodies. This newly expanded route will ensure that top researchers, scientists and mathematicians with specialist skills in the sector are provided with fast-track entry to the UK.
Our new science offer, which will launch tomorrow (20 February) will enable a wider pool of world-leading scientific talent and top researchers to apply to come to the UK and make an important contribution to our leading science and research sectors. The Global Talent route will be open to EU citizens on the same basis as non-EU citizens, from January 2021.
In the longer term, and in line with recommendations from the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) report, an unsponsored route for highly skilled workers as part of the new UK points-based immigration system will be introduced.
Other workers
We will not introduce a general low-skilled or temporary work route. However, initiatives have already been introduced for scientists and researchers, graduates, certain NHS professionals and those in the agriculture sector. This, alongside changes to the salary and skills thresholds, will provide businesses with additional flexibility.
The Government has announced an expansion of the Seasonal Workers Pilot. This pilot is part of the current temporary worker route and will help to inform our thinking on sectoral schemes as we move towards our future immigration system.
We will update you on matters of the points-based immigration system as and when new information becomes available.
Yours sincerely,
Rt Hon Priti Patel MP |

Hello elders in the house. Justwise, Lagosismyhome and other gurus
Just considering my options, what are the chances of getting a tier 2 job with an MBA in the UK? Is it an employable course in the UK
(NB: I have read a lot of stuffs online but I still need the input of more experienced minds)
What general advice would you give to someone looking to go for an MBA course in the UK?
Is it worth doing?
Secondly would an HND graduate be considered for an MBA course in the UK?
Just considering my options and making sure I get the best value for the money am going to spend as well as set myself on a path to an employable career.
Thanks in advance |

DMainMan: Nobody cares whether you are unemployed or self employed. No one cares about your salary. All these are for visitor visa.
For student visa, you need to have the alloted amount for 28 days in your account or your parents must show the alloted amount for 28 days. Your parent must also write acknowledgement letter and show proof of relationship.
I advise you to google tier 4 visa, tier 4 financial requirements for visa, tier 4 requirements for visa or read this thread to have full knowledge to enable you make informed decision.
Take care. Thanks... Working on those information you suggested right away |

Cyberknight: Getting a CoS after your studies, as has been said before, is mainly dependent on your occupation, with those on the shortage list having higher chances (as usual think mainly IT and the medical professions and specialised engineering fields).
Without sugarcoating things, pre-Brexit, a CoS was difficult to get. Obviously, no - one knows how things will turn out post-Brexit, but bear in mind that anti-immigration sentiment was one of the main drivers of Brexit and this government is every bit as anti-immigration as the two previous Tory governments were.
The government needs the high fees international students pay to balance the universities' budgets, the Home Office is a profit-making venture that also feeds fat off the high fees it charges, and the UK's eldercare industry in crisis needs a constant supply of black and brown immigrants willing to work in care homes, so hence the post-study offer, but the government has specifically excluded the 2-year post-study period from any possible settlement reckoning, and it doesn't want most of the international students to stay.
For those who are single, the marriage route may pay off (3 years is enough time to form relationships), but note there is an income threshold for British citizens wanting to "import" spouses.
As you invest your school fees monies and plan for life in the UK, you need to have a realistic view of the situation so you can assess things appropriately. Hmmmm thanks brother.. My aim of going to the UK is mainly for exposure... If am able to settle permanently after study is a plus for me, I still have Canada in my plans and am sure one day it will work out. We really don't know what post brexit immigration policy would be. I read online today that UK wants to introduce a point based system like Australia for immigration. Its still an ongoing episode we don't know how it will turn out. But am sure studying in the UK will be a point booster for the skilled immigrant scheme. Fingers crossed |

nicerichard05: My salary is less than 100k and I am being sponsored by my brother, he intends to move all d funds to my acct thou for the visa process.
Is my salary an issue I earn less than 100k as well but I want to sponsor myself for my studies, is this a red flag for immigration? |
Travel › Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by gsk4reality: 6:38am On Feb 17, 2020 |
DMainMan: I like the fact that you are emphasising on Tier 2. Many people here are focused on getting student jobs and PSW. PSW and student jobs does not lead to permanent residency.
However, Tier 2 and the recently announced UK post Brexit immigration ( to begin in 2021) can lead to permanent residency.
SO HOW CAN I GET TIER 2 VISA?
1. To get Tier 2 visa, the employer must be registered in the government tier 2 sponsored list which gets updated.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers.
So if you are applying to companies that is not on the sponsored list, then you cannot have Tier 2 visa.
2. The minimum threshold limit is 30000 pounds for graduate role. This limit is higher for experienced role. What this means is that your Tier 2 employer must pay an annual salary of 30,000 pounds above. This is very hard. Even fresh doctors and nurses (entry level) according to NHS payment scale do not earn 30,000 pounds annually.
WHAT TO DO TO MAKE YOU SECURE TIER 2 VISA AND UK POST BREXIT IMMIGRATION
Try to apply for jobs in the shortage occupation lists: Chef, Geologists, Mechanical Engineers, Civil Engineers, IT, Teachers (science, maths and physics teachers) and many others. Check the below link for more information:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-k-shortage-occupation-list
The advantage of working in any of the occupation in the shortage lists is that the minimum threshold is reduced. This will allow you to be more employable. Also, for the UK Post Brexit immigration ( to begin in 2021), those in the above shortage lists will be awarded more points.
Good luck and take care. Thank you brother... This was really helpful |

And again.. Which courses are in high demand over there apart from the medical and health related courses. Any help will be appreciated . Thanks @DMainMan Can we have the testimonies of international students who got job after study.? It is not wise to spend that much and still not be able to secure a stable job. LaaJiblik: Go for great courses. Go for ‘marketable’ course. You want to premise your decision on availability of ‘student jobs’ (which will hardly pay you more than £12ph) and you can only work 20 hours per week.
Then you end up with a shit degree. Then you now return to other Nairaland threads to say the UK is not a good destination for studies because they did not ‘retain’ you with a Tier-2 job.
Think. Think well. Think again. Availability of ‘student jobs’ should NEVER be your number 1 consideration. @JustWise and other gurus in the house.. Mrsc22: If you have OND and HND you dont need BCS. That is 2 certificates already. The only improvement is a master or PHD degree. You are already 2 or more certificate. BCS wont be useful in that regard. I have ND and HND in engineering but I still which to improve my crs scores, I have not entered the pool yet. I am thinking of going for an MBA with my hnd so I can enter the pool at masters level. What do you think about this move? Is it wise and is it acceptable? |

''In most cases if you have completed a minimum of one year full-time post-secondary academic study, you do not need to submit secondary school documents.''
Does this mean it is not compulsory to evaluate 0' level results?
