TravelRe: Nigerians In Diaspora - Is It Really Still Rosy Out There? by guddylover(m): 3:11pm On Aug 07, 2012
In fact, you have said it all

love4ual: my advice for any one coming to america who is still below 25yrs of age is to go and study nursing whether male or female....................as a guy it was not easy for me to agree to study nursing but i decided to abandon my 300 level course at nnamdi azikiwe university to study nursing.....................the future looks brighter for me than ever.......

i will have my liscence sometime this yr .....but i am already doing fine in the health sector..................

with nursing you will have ur papers quickly.............the demand is so high that there is so much shortage in the major cities of the us........new york, california and texas......

being a nurse you can come to the united states quickly because you do not need labor certification..............they do not look at experience sometimes or where you are coming from or even legal status because there is so much shortage in the industry.................infact most of the philippines and indian nurses who work here in houston cannot even speak english properly and yet the are employed making about $5,000 or more monthly............................my sister works double shift and so makes about $9,800 monthly.......................

nursing certificate is the only certificate that is recognized in the usa irregardless of the country you are coming from.............most nursing agencies will pay for your accomodation, car and board exam....................once you pass and start working you will re-imburse them back.........

any other degree from nigeria is rubbish......

most nigerians in the us are not properly informed about the health sector in the us even though they know nurses are on top.........................some of the jobs are also dirty but when you see dollars your eye go open and you can do just anything...........

while some people are still going through tough times in the us....there future is much brighter if only they are exposed to the right information.............canada, the us and australia are very good........i will advice anybody not to travel to the uk.........is really tougher out there and my friends always tell me that we are the very lucky ones to have been in the states.........

pls forget other degree certificates from home........because it will never be recognized abroad..........
TravelChoosing Between Ontario And Alberta by guddylover(op): 9:31am On Jul 22, 2012
To those of you who resides in Alberta,

Right now I live in Toronto, but am planning on moving down to Alberta because people keep informing me of the job prospects and they even said despite the increase on house rent expenses, that you save more living and working in Alberta, I am planning on going for my undergraduate studies @ Uni of Alberta/Calgary.

All I need to know now is that is it true that there are a lot of job opportunities there and they pay more compared to Toronto?

I can't stop laughing!
TravelRe: Canada Freezes Federal Skilled Worker Program by guddylover(m):
birdman: You keep missing the point. No one is saying going abroad is not a good thing. However, if you have to spend $50-80k on a degree and there is a good chance you wont get a job, maybe, just maybe you should think twice about it. As bad as things are, there are people making it in the same Naija. Instead of spending years looking for paper and doing underground jobs, maybe you could own your own sh** in your own country. This same naija yall are heaping abuses is the same one lebanese and indians are becoming millionaires in

what do you mean there is a good chance they wont get a job after spending so much on a degree, do you think those places is like Nigeria whereby 90% of their graduate are roaming about the street without a job. Most of them are half-baked graduates anyways!

Talking about Lebanese and Indians becoming millionaires in Nigeria, they too are immigrants, they came from their countries to seek greener pasture in Nigeria, so whats the deal if some Nigerians are doing the same.

Patriotism wont lead you anywhere, you just need to face it. Just an advise if you have your way, you better get the F**k out of that place.

The fact is that no one is saying living abroad makes you superior to people living back home. I just can't help it when people talk shit about living abroad, only because many of you have been denied visa so many times and now you feel helpless. If you think getting out of the country is the best for you, then why don't you take the chance and stop all these: they said PhD holders drive cabs and stuffs.Patriotism will lead us to nowhere, you need to 'make hay while the sun shine'

No place like home my foot. To some home is where police treat you like a piece of shit; home is where the looter(political elites) don't care about their fellow citizens

To me home is where you feel loved and welcome.

olajide_07: Going through the whole posts it just occurred to me that in 1979, the exchange rate of the naira to the pound was £1= 0.60k, a dollar was far less, the canadian dollar was no where to be found, our economy was on top, we had potentials of aligning ourselves a par with theses countries, people didn't need piles and loads of documentation to travel abroad, so many fortunate people whose parents left for canada left because U.I and IFE, didn't admit them, so many lecturers were sent on sabbatical because they needed to exchange, and further more develop their intellectual base, now our governments over time and the years, have failed us, to the point that we have to apply for 1-3years to be given skilled "mai nene" visa, some come and brag about it, where as they have contributed in any bit or manner, to the development of nigeria, they want to come back and become ministers and D.G because they have gone to acquire foreign certifications some even praise those countries because they have light and water as if we can't do the same if just if, we had the right people in place, the descendants of Prof magnous kpako the formal S.A to the president of nigeria on poverty eradication was collecting millions and billions for pilot projects which never brought direct development, rather "keke Napep", where other countries where bring in toyota motors to assemble cars, that are economically viable, they designed un-implementable models for the nigerian state, only to come here collect all our moneys (salaries and allowances) to pay their mortgages outside nigeria and their school fees debts, some lie to themselves that foreign countries are better then nigeria because of ephemeral issues which could have been solved if the leaders even gave a direction of where they want nigeria to go, we all want the best for ourselves but are these conditions where racism exist directly or indirectly the best for us? The question is where and what did we do wrong? What did yours and my fathers do wrong that has made us reach this level were we que to get out of nigeria? What are we still doing wrong?
@factbox a lot of what you have said is true and a lot of people wouldn't still accept those facts because the sun is fortunately shining on their side of the world, but for more emphasis though a lot of us wouldn't accept no matter what, could you plz give us a list of some of the bills being paid and taxes? Plz maybe they would understand better.
bro, we all know Nigeria can attain all these things, but not when someone like GEJ occupies the presidency. 'if and almost' wont change anything.

we shall all get whatever our heart desires!

Hey, you dey Canada, you dey discourage people from going abroad. You should learn how to understand this, the fact that people still suffer abroad just because they are still students doesnt mean it will be the same forever, do you think it will all be same after Graduation? from my own opinion, i think people should be able to make their choices.

If suffer dey Canada, why you never go back Nigeria.

No place like home my foot.

factbox: Hynmmmmmmm! after reading all the correspondent posts so far, here is my advice for all our youth back home, before i write anything i will like to aknowledge some ppl dat will get back @ me for posting dis simple truth. buh d truth still needs to be told anyways, There is no where like home HONESTLY! here i am in Hamilton Ontario Canada, i am a student here and i have couple of naija folks here too ranging from young to adults.
No big deal about abroad to be very factual ppl come back home to tell us different stories which is far different from what i saw when i got here. There is serious suffer head here despite d fact dat there are all those facilities Tonnytox talked about but yet we pay handsomely to enjoy them all, what is d essence of good facilities without money in d pocket moreso who are those lying to u ppl dat free medical for everybody dat are citizens here BLANTANT LIE ppl here just get part of it paid by the government but d biggest part of it is paid by d invalid himself.
Alot of lies ppl come back to tell us but my advice here is seeing is believing because there are lots of things to talk about buh i have no tym to type for long. EAST OR WEST HOME IS D BEST .we dont always understand dis until we see for ourselves,PEOPLE ALWAYS BELIEVE GRASS IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE INSTEAD OF WETTING THE GRASS THEY ARE STANDING ON.
When u get here u will realise dat (Canada is urs to discover).
THIS IS A WONDERFUL TRUTH DAT NOT SO MANY PPL HERE WILL LIKE TO TELL because THEY WANT OTHERS TO COME EXPERIENCE SAME WIF THEM............... my little coin.

@ Guddylove, whatz d meaning of admission 50k, Visa Documentation 130k and why would U pay them $2000 dollars, whatz d money for, is it their own charges 4 helping U out, nd again, when U applied to Lethbridge, did they ask U to pay all your tuition 1st b4 U were offered admissionhuh What did they require of U as their requirements to study Computer Science, WAEC, Toefl, SAT, which of them pls, I'ld like to add U on fb if U dnt mind, tnx
@jimmy, admission=50k means they will help you get an admission, all you do is provide to them your credentials, and other fees stated above is the charges the require of you to pay for representing you at CDHC,mind you the $2000 is refundable that is if the visa is not granted, you can get the admission yourself,i did it all my myself, what you do is you send an application fee of $75 to the school before your application can be processed,i takes 1 month to get an admission with them, then you would need either TOEFL or SAT or IELTS.you can scan your credentials to them,no need of sending it through courier as it might get lost in the mail.

Here is the email to the International Recruitment Officer, email this office and they will direct you appropriately: dana.inkster@uleth.ca

Lastly,if you know you can package the application well on your own then you are good.

@ all

Longest time my peeps. i hail my NLs.

i took a break from my study visa application because of Canadian PR application under FSW.

Now i want to advice all those looking for agents to use for admission, visa documentation and visa application. You do not need an agent. for Christ's sake this is why NL is here. To assist one another. i got admission to study management as a second degree in the university of lethbridge fall 2011 but decided to withdraw my visa application as my husband and i choosed to apply for permanent residence under FSW.

As i write, our application has been approved in canada for further processing. we did not use any agent for anything. i personally did all the packaging of the application as my hubby is a very busy person. i got all the information i needed to package the application from the instruction guide on cic website and also from different forums where PR matters were discussed.

my admission in lethbridge, i did the application my self without an agent. my friend cuddlemii here did hers herself including her visa application and many others who did theirs themselves.

you can get advice from us for free. u do not need an agent.

@ henrywest

u are high  grin
@gel03, Don't get me wrong am not saying people can't package their application all by themself, but i must say all this thing look like something someone can't do just because you are new to it.but if one have extra money to spare,i'd prefer using Maple Edu,they are good at what they do.

i have my visa now,i am also going to University of Lethbridge this sept.

Thanks.

when the medical instruction get to them you pay $2000 before you can now go for your medical at a designated hospital.after that you wait for your visa and thats all.
