To those of you who resides in Alberta, Right now I live in Toronto, but am planning on moving down to Alberta because people keep informing me of the job prospects and they even said despite the increase on house rent expenses, that you save more living and working in Alberta, I am planning on going for my undergraduate studies @ Uni of Alberta/Calgary. All I need to know now is that is it true that there are a lot of job opportunities there and they pay more compared to Toronto? |

I still don't get it, why are you people taking defense? she has already said it; she is Hot, and from my own experience, since she has dated this guy in question before, I don't see this as temptation, if she feels comfortable getting laid by this guy then so be it! |
Abeg, Patriotic citizen of Nigeria, what is wrong with the question that guy asked? afterall he didn't direct the question to you! stagger: Who be dis one again? Are you now one of those myopic foreigners who ask whether our blood is red in colour or whether we still bracket from tree to tree? Which kain question be dis? |
Curious_city: And you have all the job flying around here in Nigeria??I can't stop laughing! |
birdman: You keep missing the point. No one is saying going abroad is not a good thing. However, if you have to spend $50-80k on a degree and there is a good chance you wont get a job, maybe, just maybe you should think twice about it. As bad as things are, there are people making it in the same Naija. Instead of spending years looking for paper and doing underground jobs, maybe you could own your own sh** in your own country. This same naija yall are heaping abuses is the same one lebanese and indians are becoming millionaires in what do you mean there is a good chance they wont get a job after spending so much on a degree, do you think those places is like Nigeria whereby 90% of their graduate are roaming about the street without a job. Most of them are half-baked graduates anyways! Talking about Lebanese and Indians becoming millionaires in Nigeria, they too are immigrants, they came from their countries to seek greener pasture in Nigeria, so whats the deal if some Nigerians are doing the same. Patriotism wont lead you anywhere, you just need to face it. Just an advise if you have your way, you better get the F**k out of that place. |
tensor777: Simply start a small business with the funds that you wish to cross the Sahara desert with. That Sahara expedition has 99% chance of failure\ You can't be too sure! |
The fact is that no one is saying living abroad makes you superior to people living back home. I just can't help it when people talk shit about living abroad, only because many of you have been denied visa so many times and now you feel helpless. If you think getting out of the country is the best for you, then why don't you take the chance and stop all these: they said PhD holders drive cabs and stuffs.Patriotism will lead us to nowhere, you need to 'make hay while the sun shine' No place like home my foot. To some home is where police treat you like a piece of shit; home is where the looter(political elites) don't care about their fellow citizens To me home is where you feel loved and welcome. |
nakedall: they have no jobs, a lot of Indian' PhD holders are driving cab and truck over there. let them say the truth.when will you stop these dem say, dem say talk. How many university graduates roam about the street in Nigeria with no job? |
justwise: That is alot of 'ifs', you are still in wishy washy nightmare, while you wait for factbox to send you the list of bills she pays in Canada, start making a list of bills you pay in Nigeria and the benefit you get out of it.help me tell Mr 'IF' |
olajide_07: Going through the whole posts it just occurred to me that in 1979, the exchange rate of the naira to the pound was £1= 0.60k, a dollar was far less, the canadian dollar was no where to be found, our economy was on top, we had potentials of aligning ourselves a par with theses countries, people didn't need piles and loads of documentation to travel abroad, so many fortunate people whose parents left for canada left because U.I and IFE, didn't admit them, so many lecturers were sent on sabbatical because they needed to exchange, and further more develop their intellectual base, now our governments over time and the years, have failed us, to the point that we have to apply for 1-3years to be given skilled "mai nene" visa, some come and brag about it, where as they have contributed in any bit or manner, to the development of nigeria, they want to come back and become ministers and D.G because they have gone to acquire foreign certifications some even praise those countries because they have light and water as if we can't do the same if just if, we had the right people in place, the descendants of Prof magnous kpako the formal S.A to the president of nigeria on poverty eradication was collecting millions and billions for pilot projects which never brought direct development, rather "keke Napep", where other countries where bring in toyota motors to assemble cars, that are economically viable, they designed un-implementable models for the nigerian state, only to come here collect all our moneys (salaries and allowances) to pay their mortgages outside nigeria and their school fees debts, some lie to themselves that foreign countries are better then nigeria because of ephemeral issues which could have been solved if the leaders even gave a direction of where they want nigeria to go, we all want the best for ourselves but are these conditions where racism exist directly or indirectly the best for us? The question is where and what did we do wrong? What did yours and my fathers do wrong that has made us reach this level were we que to get out of nigeria? What are we still doing wrong?bro, we all know Nigeria can attain all these things, but not when someone like GEJ occupies the presidency. 'if and almost' wont change anything. we shall all get whatever our heart desires! |
justwise: Lower your expectation, the facilities you are enjoying in Canada was paid for by somebody and its only fair you pay your fair share. Can you tell me what Nigerian Govt does with the tax you pay in Nigeria?Abi oo! |
BoboYekini: See how folks are making mouth, feeling superior 'i am a canadian permanent resident, PR e.t.c.'. Instead of being ashamed of yourselves. I dont blame una, i blame GEJ.bros, you dey vex oo! |
factbox: GUDDYLOVER! u can't understand, just because i'm still skooling does not mean i'm blind to what ppl are going tru arround me. little is enough for d wise. I PRAY U ARE GRANTED CANADIAN VISA SO DAT U CAN COME AND PERFORM SOME MIRACLES. I HAVE BEEN EXPECTING A REPLY FROM DOUBTING AND STURBBORN THOMAS LIKE U THOUGH. best of luck in ur abroad mission. I REST MY CASE. ONE MORE THING! FOR UR INFORMATION ppl abroad are more frustrated than u do anyways. For your information, i do not need to apply for any Canadian visa;I live in Canada and am already thanking God;so far so good!.Not everybody that that strive really hard will make it in life, just pray you are part of the successful ones! I suppose you are frustrated with the fact that you are an international student and you pay much while you make little or no money. Comeon its just a matter of time, you have a bright future ahead. I just don't understand what you are trying to tell our people back home, your post sound like a 'deterrent' to those aspiring to move abroad to probably better their lives; its their choice. Stop this pessimism. |
hagma37@yahoo.com:I can't just understand wetin people dey do for inside that hot weather(9ja), if dem give you visa and ur papa seize am from you, i dey sure say you go take some desperate measures against your papa just to retrieve the visa from him. |
Hey, you dey Canada, you dey discourage people from going abroad. You should learn how to understand this, the fact that people still suffer abroad just because they are still students doesnt mean it will be the same forever, do you think it will all be same after Graduation? from my own opinion, i think people should be able to make their choices. If suffer dey Canada, why you never go back Nigeria. No place like home my foot. factbox: Hynmmmmmmm! after reading all the correspondent posts so far, here is my advice for all our youth back home, before i write anything i will like to aknowledge some ppl dat will get back @ me for posting dis simple truth. buh d truth still needs to be told anyways, There is no where like home HONESTLY! here i am in Hamilton Ontario Canada, i am a student here and i have couple of naija folks here too ranging from young to adults. |
caryoday:@poster, Omidina,i don see your writing for here, tell that your step dad to call me |

longecity:@longecity, i have some questions to ask you. 1. concerning the airline,i think i will be going with Alitalia too,Klm is just too expensive.can you please tell me the route alitalia took i mean where they had their stop over.how can i book with alitalia do i have to go to their office at VI? and is it possible to book today and fly maybe tomorrow? 2.you said something about carrying too much cash.like my own case i haven't paid my tuition, but i have have gotten my visa,do you mean i will be questioned despite they know i will be paying tuition on arriving.and concerning the accomodation ,how do i go about it.i am going to uni of lethbridge so am suppose to board a plane going to calgary, but i want to have a stop over at toronto.how do i book that with alitalia.and please let me know how to go about the accomodation stuff, maybe i will have to tell them i will be staying in the hotel pending the time i can find a suitable room to rent. i will wait for your response, thank you! |
joeburster:@joeburster, sorry for the belated response, my start date is sept 6,but i can still go in like sept 14.i didnt update my file for late resumption,my visa was issued 28 of Aug,although maple have been disturbing me to go pay my tuition fee,but i insisted cos my school wont let me pay any money until i have my visa handy,i have a mail from the school backing it up that i am free to come pay due fees upon arrival. |
jimmy4x:@jimmy, admission=50k means they will help you get an admission, all you do is provide to them your credentials, and other fees stated above is the charges the require of you to pay for representing you at CDHC,mind you the $2000 is refundable that is if the visa is not granted, you can get the admission yourself,i did it all my myself, what you do is you send an application fee of $75 to the school before your application can be processed,i takes 1 month to get an admission with them, then you would need either TOEFL or SAT or IELTS.you can scan your credentials to them,no need of sending it through courier as it might get lost in the mail. Here is the email to the International Recruitment Officer, email this office and they will direct you appropriately: dana.inkster@uleth.ca Lastly,if you know you can package the application well on your own then you are good. |
gel03:@gel03, Actually going for an undergraduate degree studies.Computer Science. so now that you are approved of the PR,are you going start benefiting things like paying tuition fee like citizen/PR or will you still continue paying the huge money(international tuition fees),i don't understand .please try to shed more light! |
gel03:@gel03, Don't get me wrong am not saying people can't package their application all by themself, but i must say all this thing look like something someone can't do just because you are new to it.but if one have extra money to spare,i'd prefer using Maple Edu,they are good at what they do. i have my visa now,i am also going to University of Lethbridge this sept. Thanks. |
allexy2:when the medical instruction get to them you pay $2000 before you can now go for your medical at a designated hospital.after that you wait for your visa and thats all. |
