dtanigwe: I am a black American woman who has recently married an Igbo man. I was raised, as we all are, to have certain preconceived notions about ppl of other races and cultures, and Africans, although I am clearly a descendent, were no exception.
Having taught myself not to judge by these prescriptions, I gave no thought to my husband's nationality when I married him, but I have to admit that now, the quiet protests of my friends and family are starting to get to me and are raising doubt in my mind. I don't want to offend anyone, but in the interest of honest, open discourse, these are the stereotypes and fears that my loved ones present me with:
1. Africans/Nigerians only marry american women for a green card and will leave them as soon as they get it. They've usually got a Nigerian wife or girlfriend back home that they will marry and bring to the states after dumping the American wife. 2. Nigerians are notorious womanizers. If they do stay with their American wife they will callously cheat on her. 3. Africans think of women as objects or property. He is controlling of his wife, her opinion doesn't matter, her place is in the kitchen and having babies, and the man has the right to beat his wife and will often be verbally abusive. 4. A Nigerian man wouldn't stay with a black American because her bloodline has been "tainted". 5. Nigerian/Igbo men become cold, unaffectionate, and unloving with their wives (and sometimes children)
My husband is applying for his residency based on our marriage, and so far has not been any of these stereotypes (except maybe a little controlling, but never abusively so). In fact he has been a stark contrast, almost a perfect contrast. He is extremely affectionate and loving, speaks respectfully to me, never raised a hand to me, and he at least makes me think he considers my opinion on things. My fear is that once his residency becomes permanent will he change? Is this a norm? I want to know the truth behind Nigerian men marrying American women and why the marriages that fall apart do so. And also how many of these marriages stay together.
Ensure you are good to him, make him reciprocate too. Don't allow him to get distracted but don't stalk him and also make him go to church. I tell you he will dance to ur tune
Kolababe: Mr Fabio Phiri, a Taxi driver from Lusaka, Zambia and his wife Priscilla Phiri, a maid at China Engineering and Construction limited welcomed a beautiful baby boy into their family six moths ago.
Despite the fact that the baby obviously looks mixed and that the woman might have been doing more than cleaning and cooking for her former boss, the young couple are very much happy and have thanked God for blessing them with a beautiful baby boy.

"He is a big boy now and is 6 months old , I named him after myself because he looks exactly like I do especially when I was a baby like him , his name is Fabio Ji Wu Phiri, the Ji Wu is a name we gave to him after my wife's former boss mr Ji Wu Young a Chinese engineer who was working at China Engineering and Construction limited , he helped us a lot when my wife was pregnant and has been very supportive to our family and the baby , even after he left Zambia , he still sends money to help us with up keep so the only way we could appreciate him is by giving some of his names to our son " Mr Fabio Phiri added.
On her part, his wife Priscilla said she was grateful to God for giving her a beautiful and healthy baby boy.
"I am very happy for this gift of a beautiful baby boy , I love him so much and I am thankful to God for giving him to me."

She always want to have the final say in every issue not minding the feelings of others. She doesnt waste time to switch her allegiance and love to any of her children that has it big at the very moment..
She is in her 60s but always believe she knows the current things more than us. She is also very ungrateful... She lacks nothing as we timely assist her with upkeep allowances. My Dad still provide for all her daily needs too.

This megalomania is destroying the love i once had for her. Pls what do i do as i have tried talking to her about this severally, only for the peaceful talks to snowball into a fiercing quarrell ofwhich it echo reaches the next day.

dammy13: Osun state police Command has paraded two suspects in connection with the murder of a female Student of the Osun State University late last year.
One of the suspects Elijah Oyebode according to the commissioner of police Fimihan Adeoye, has confessed to killing the victim and dumping her remains somewhere in Iragbiji, Boripe Local government Area of Osun state.
Adebisi Rofiat Damilola, a four hundred level student of Chemistry Education was found dead on December 22nd 2016, after boarding a vehicle from ipetu-jesha where her school campus is located.
The suspect, Elijah who was the driver of the commercial vehicle, claimed the deceased willingly followed him home, after agreeing to his advances.

Kolababe: The Lagos state command is investigating a case of suspected murder committed by a 51 year old man against his mother. On February 7, 2017 at about 11pm, one Akintunde Ayoola of united estate, Sangotedo, Ajah Lagos, came to the station and reported that on the same date at 6pm, he got information that his brother, Oluwaseye Ayoola manhandled his mother over failure to release undisclosed amount of money to him.
However, on arrival at the scene, he found his mother, Dorcas Ayoola, 81, dead in a pool of her blood. The culprit, Oluwaseye Ayoola then fled to an unknown destination. At the receipt of the information, the command's detectives from Ogombo division launched a manhunt for the suspect, he was consequently arrested.
Upon interrogation the suspect confirmed that he had gone to his mother to ask for the sum of #500,000 out of his late sister's will of #11,000,000 but she refused to give him, an occurrence which angered the suspect and made him pounced on the old woman and axed her to death.
