Nigerian police no matter how dumb they are cannot just invite the Senate president of Nigeria for questioning if there's absolutely no link between him and the robbers.

Nobody is saying he is guilty of anything but why can he as a high ranking citizen of Nigeria and a lawmaker cooperate with the police if they need to question him.
There's nothing political about about being invited by the police if you have nothing to worry about. Like I said before, he can always go with his lawyers to avoid implicating himself, that is normal.
What is not normal is writing to the police when you are invited for a chat. Are they going to question his letter?
