Bane2020: I don't have time for your mirthless jokes, cause unlike you I deal with FACTS. The records of Nigerian casualties in their various attacks on key Biafran positions are there to see(you want sources) Let's not even mention the Abagana ambush, even your government are ashamed to reveal the real casualties figures suffered by the Nigerian troops... The Federal army definitely suffered far more casualties than the Biafrans(if you want facts I'll gladly oblige you)... It's only when it came to killing civilians that your government had the upper hand in mumbers, which pretty much caused the war to end cause more civilians were been targeted rather than soldiers. And in the end Biafra lost and Ojukwu ran away leaving millions of women and children at the mercy of people who could have done whatever they wanted to them. |

PrecisionFx: Stop discussing important national issues with sentiment n emotional blackmail.
Present ur evidence that Nnamdi kanu said igbos should kill Yorubas n also being proof of igbos who were supporting/hailing Nnamdi kanu as he called on igbos to kill Yorubas.
If u can't, shut th fucck upp. Look, there's no emotional blackmail. You can decide to be deaf and dumb and pretend everyone has amnesia like yourself. Go online and type "Nnamdi Kanu and hate speech, there's a treasure trove of information regarding Kanu's genocidal and hate filled speeches on radio biafra. YouTube is littered with video of ipob morons who were always with him in their multitude, even Nairaland is full of Nnamdi Kanu supporters who decided to be deaf like yourself. In the end, there's nothing outrageous said by this Mr. Alaba that has not been said by an ibo before. |

PrecisionFx: We all heard that Nnamdi kanu said that, But there was no proof. I dont support a call for a genocide,Though Yorubas have been known to do that n even Yoruba youths defended baba akiolu wen he did that.
If u have any real info on Nnamdi kanu calls to kill Yoruba, pls forward it. Of course, you will not see any proof of Nnamdi Kanu calling for genocide. But the truth is that he did and many Ibos said nothing and even praised him as a hero. Stop the hypocrisy and call out hateful people whether ibo or Yoruba. |

kaorama: This is not a reasonable step in any way. The statement sounds almost like a parable, without any intention to unmask the identity of the deluded miscreant. A serious institution would have given a clearer picture of what relationship the said Ajibola had with Babcock university and the exact date the relationship was terminated. I think Babcock is being economical with the truth and this doesn't speak well if them. The statement from the university is clear enough. Whether you believe it or not is your problem. If you want to unmask or arrest the culprit contact the police. It is a university not a police station. |

Don't ever compare a call for genocide wit a mere statement against Yoruba sophistication. It presents u as confused, silly n deranged.
Go back n res both issues n correct ur self. You are absolutely right about the genocide part. Did you ever condemn Nnamdi Kanu for calling on Ipobs to kill Nigerians, essentially Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani? |

SirVintageCock: THEY may have CALLED YOUR TRIBE THAT BUT THIS GUY IS calling for complete annihilation and extermination of Igbos. Not the same at all. Yoruba's and Igbos has been calling each other unpleasant names for aeons.....recently it took a different dimension from the Yoruba side....the oba lagoon statement, the Nigerian-USA doctor statement and then this.... In all this bickerings, Igbos are yet to call for annihilation of Yorubas and never will because life is sacred to us. Lets remember that It is only a tree that will continue to stand when it hears that it will be killed.
If you can't bear the heat of the name callings then stop as it is not and will never be an excuse for this untoward statements we are witnessing presently. Nnamdi Kanu called for genocide on Yoruba and Hausa/ Fulani, where was your outrage then? This however does not mean I support what the guy wrote about Ibos. I am only pointing out the false outrage and hypocrisy of many ibos on this matter. Not long ago, a mainstream newspaper editor referred to Yoruba as sophisticated morons where was your outrage then? |

eyinjuege: It is the govts mother's dead body. They must bury it. The workers will be paid eventually. It may take time, but it is still their debt. Ekiti state is bereft of teachers, they have employed teachers for the future of their children. It is the government's responsibility to ensure their children are educated. For me, that's the end of the matter. Unless you're telling me they don't need teachers again o, and they have enough teachers. It's a win win situation for the masses. Enough of depending on federal allocation, I hope Fayemi does better, and will not also start giving excuses. I understand Nigeria went through a recession, and she is gradually coming out of it. All Nigerians want is good governance, which includes good education for her children. I know the children of those who have ever been in power are not bothered by such, as their fathers have stolen for generations yet unborn, but the market woman and the petty traders still need teachers for their children. And you believe sincerely that this good education that is badly needed in Ekiti will be provided by teachers that are not paid. Teachers that will alternate between attending classes and trying to earn a living by the side at the expense of the school kids. And why not hire thousands more teachers without any means of paying them. I guess the workers and their kids will eat eventually when they are finally paid by devine intervention. |

eyinjuege: Revenge or not, the citizens still benefit from getting employed, especially in a state like Ekiti. It's left for their governors to begin thinking outside the box, and making their state viable. I dont care much for the political parties provided they do something worthwhile for their people and improve the standard of living . Benefit from employment in which you don't get paid? Sometimes I think Africans are too docile. How do you define slavery? |

It doesn't matter what anyone did before you came to office. If you truly care about the people you lead then their interests will be priority number one not some childish and meaningless revenge. |

He even did worse by paying heavy amount of money as kick off grant to the fanthom lcdas which never worked for one day and the monies were never recovered. The lives of ordinary people should not be reduced to a vendetta between politicians. The 2000 people that are being employed will not be paid. Their lives will be worse off than before because they will now be working for free, like slaves. |

Either you like it or not Fayemi will borrow, at least now let it be towrds Ekiti children future, not towards 1 billion/1 kilometer roads that will be gone under 3 years You didn't answer my question; why is he recruiting more teachers a few months to the end of his tenure even though he can't pay those who are already employed? Why can't he wait for the incoming administration to decide what to do about the situation? |

Bacon21: A vote of no confidence can be another issue with that system: it allows for an unelected group to take over the government at any point if the current prime minister doesn't do their bidding whether bribes or other corruption. Also in the presidential system eventually there will be primary elections to choose party nominees however these do not exist in the parliamentary system. Every member of the parliament is elected. The issue of unelected group does not arise. The leader of the party with the majority of MPs or the coalition of parties with the majority becomes the prime minister. It is quite straightforward. The type of drama playing out right now with Saraki and APC is an unnecessary waste of time and money. It is impossible in a parliamentary system. |
Politics › Re: ‘we’re In A One-chance Bus’ — PDP Lists 14 ‘acts Of Humongous Corruption’... by Guestlander: 6:08pm On Aug 17, 2018 |
Bacon21: There are also no term limits in a parliamentary system. Ministers are chosen from the representatives allowing politicians that should be voting and representing their constituents to spend months in the US or France on a "fact-finding mission" as the "Permanent Under-Secretary of State to the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs" or another nonsense position. There are many things wrong with Nigeria, but a parliamentary system would definitely make things worst. There are no term limits but a lot easier to remove a non performing government through a no confidence vote. As for irresponsible MPs, we have a lot of them in our current system too. |

There will be many more pictures of crying agents in the coming months. Lmao. The agent wept. |

Even more interestingly, you can also be discharged and acquitted of a crime if new evidence surfaces that you are innocent or you were mis-trialled.
This judgement is also challengeable at a court of appeal by Nigeria Police if they have prima facie case of empowering armed robbers with arms or money used to buy arms. God bless you. |

It is only on Nairaland you see tweets of people like Reno and FFK making headlines whereas you watch TV, listen to radio, read newspapers, go to other online mediums and you won't even know those people exist.
Yesterday was the height of it, the front page of Nairaland was littered with tweets from these folks, from the story of APC senators entering into the national assembly from the back door, to them moving to Sheraton, to Oshiomhole's house and then one list from PDP senators all these were only seen on Nairaland and no where else.
Seun something must be done about this else this platform goes to the dust. Some of your mods are compromised already. What's so difficult in verifying the facts before posting to front page? Unfortunately on Nairaland these days you have to sift through a pile of rubbish to get any real information. |
