Ekiti state is bereft of teachers, they have employed teachers for the future of their children. It is the government's responsibility to ensure their children are educated.
For me, that's the end of the matter. Unless you're telling me they don't need teachers again o, and they have enough teachers.
It's a win win situation for the masses.
Enough of depending on federal allocation, I hope Fayemi does better, and will not also start giving excuses. I understand Nigeria went through a recession, and she is gradually coming out of it.
All Nigerians want is good governance, which includes good education for her children. I know the children of those who have ever been in power are not bothered by such, as their fathers have stolen for generations yet unborn, but the market woman and the petty traders still need teachers for their children.

And you believe sincerely that this good education that is badly needed in Ekiti will be provided by teachers that are not paid. Teachers that will alternate between attending classes and trying to earn a living by the side at the expense of the school kids.
And why not hire thousands more teachers without any means of paying them.

I guess the workers and their kids will eat eventually when they are finally paid by devine intervention.

You didn't answer my question; why is he recruiting more teachers a few months to the end of his tenure even though he can't pay those who are already employed? Why can't he wait for the incoming administration to decide what to do about the situation?

A vote of no confidence can be another issue with that system: it allows for an unelected group to take over the government at any point if the current prime minister doesn't do their bidding whether bribes or other corruption. Also in the presidential system eventually there will be primary elections to choose party nominees however these do not exist in the parliamentary system.

Every member of the parliament is elected. The issue of unelected group does not arise. The leader of the party with the majority of MPs or the coalition of parties with the majority becomes the prime minister. It is quite straightforward.
The type of drama playing out right now with Saraki and APC is an unnecessary waste of time and money. It is impossible in a parliamentary system.

Ministers are chosen from the representatives allowing politicians that should be voting and representing their constituents to spend months in the US or France on a "fact-finding mission" as the "Permanent Under-Secretary of State to the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs" or another nonsense position. There are many things wrong with Nigeria, but a parliamentary system would definitely make things worst.

There are no term limits but a lot easier to remove a non performing government through a no confidence vote. As for irresponsible MPs, we have a lot of them in our current system too.

If new compelling evidence crops up against him, Saraki WILL be arrested. There is no court anywhere in the world that can shield a criminal where the evidence is compelling.

Even more interestingly, you can also be discharged and acquitted of a crime if new evidence surfaces that you are innocent or you were mis-trialled.

This judgement is also challengeable at a court of appeal by Nigeria Police if they have prima facie case of empowering armed robbers with arms or money used to buy arms.

What has happened to Nairaland? Gone are the glory days, it is now the dumping ground for fake and unverified news.

It is only on Nairaland you see tweets of people like Reno and FFK making headlines whereas you watch TV, listen to radio,read newspapers, go to other online mediums and you won't even know those people exist.

Yesterday was the height of it, the front page of Nairaland was littered with tweets from these folks, from the story of APC senators entering into the national assembly from the back door, to them moving to Sheraton, to Oshiomhole's house and then one list from PDP senators all these were only seen on Nairaland and no where else.

Seun something must be done about this else this platform goes to the dust. Some of your mods are compromised already. What's so difficult in verifying the facts before posting to front page?
