FrankNetter,

Given to how you dropped out of medical school, I may not exactly understand the reason for your drive, but one thing is sure; your brilliance, principles and discerning mind can get you anywhere and anything you want in a developed society.

People travel for different reasons.

Some to pluck money from trees.
Some to impress.
some to live luxurious lives.
Some to acquire education.
Some to be at peace with body and soul.
Some to work and earn a living.
While some are just to understand why societies work.

I suppose your reasons are the last 3 points.

Having lived and worked in very developed societies for quite some time, I came to understand why other "abroad/Americana" like you are in shock and then become a bit abusive to the system you left behind. The difference in both societies is quite shocking and repulsive. This now becomes clear why non Africans can hardly take us serious as a group. This is evidenced in chapter 22 of Lee Kuan yeuw's "From third world to first" autobiography. (every living human being in Africa should read that book).

My brother, live your life. I can't advise you to acquire more knowledge cos you are doing that more than I tried to and even far more than your age mates are/would.

So, by all polite means, keep critiquing us here. The critique can only stop when we begin to get it right like the Asian dragons. Singapore caught up with the west in less than two decades. Why can't we?

Nb: as a reformed Christian, one of the most spectacular things I noticed about living for a long time in a developed society is that loosing ones faith in any organized religion is religion is the easiest thing to do over there, especially in places like Japan, Korea and the scandinavian/Nordic countries.

Stay cool bro.
huh where do we start the blames from?, is it from young generation that wants to mimick westerns?, is it from our political representatives that would seat in the caliphate of power and make demagoguery remark of restructuring stomach infrastructure Whereas people whom they represent are lost in the ocean of hopelessness?. They (politicians) only will come again to deceive for another four years; for how long will all these deficiencies continue to happen.?

EducationRe: Lady Who Left Nigeria Due To ASUU Strike Graduates From UK With 5.0gp by guiddoti:

What's the ranking of that school in the UK? huh

With the right sponsorship and a little bit of luck, some 2:1 students from any of Nigeria's top 10 universities can pull that stunt in any backwater UK university undecided

And please drop all that stuff about her being best in WAEC... she is a brilliant girl no doubt... But how are we sure her ''miracle center" school had nothing to do with manipulating her results?

Just like her, I got admitted to study law as well in OAU.... And I graduated from the school as well.. . and having a CGPA of 4.53 in 1st year wasn't all that hard for students in the faculty because the courses taken then, apart from SSC102, were all out-of-faculty and pretty basic... La Cram La Pour sturvs... At the end of my 1st year in the faculty of law in OAU, my cgpa was 4.36...and I wasnt even among the top 30 in my class sad.....

Shitt started getting real in 200 level when we started taking majorly law courses... none of us made it out of the faculty with a 1st class..... And some of my class padis who had exceptionally high scores in JAMB and Post-Ume didn't exactly blaze any trails either...

Point is.. .. She is a brilliant girl who had the chance and resources to study abroad in some kinda lowball university.... If she had achieved this feat in one of the top 10 universities in the UK, then I will truly applaud her.. What she has achieved doesn't make her better than her mates who graduated from OAU with a 2:1... Some of them may have done same if they had the opportunity ...Alumni of OAU like myself will understand what I am saying smiley
Dude, you are a typical Nigerian graduate..
I will leave you with world ranking with your school and hers. I don't understand why Nigerian like you don't appreciate peoples achievement but rather writing long episode of hate story.

Also, people will become hopeless and suicidal. Please whatever the outcome. Be yourself. Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

How do we get across to them, seems they don't read the complaints we post on here!
Each school has two weeks latest date to resume. I am of opinion one can still meet up the date you posted that if the list is out this week and award letter is issued also

lordblynx:
I've always maintained that the reasons for this delay are not far fetched. Assuming from a state, the governor sends 2 names, senator 2 names, Reps member 2 names and names coming from other senior men. How will they (PTDF) cope? Who will they favour over the other? Not forgetting that they MAY still consider merit.
If some people could get pins on exam day, what more when it comes to being shortlisted?
Some few years back, the crowd sitting for scholarships wasn't this large owing to ignorance. But with Internet at everyone's finger tips, more people (scholars+politicians) are informed and qualified hence rigorous nature of selecting.
I sat for BEA in 2005 (undergraduate), some of the state's had only 2-5 candidates sitting for Msc. In that case chances of getting shortlisted were high. Today multitudes from a state are sitting for the exam with a large percentage having one connection (contact of influence) or the other.
God help us!
Lobatan grin
That part where governors bring 2, senators bring 2 each, House of Rep bring 2, what now remain? Make I go soak garri grin

Guy, what I said was my opinion and I did not force anyone to second to it, you are also entitle to your opinion.
If you consider the delay as inefficiency that's your problem, I am also not happy with the delay because I am expected to resume on the 4th of September 2017
So, all the post you have commented on other people's post is not their opinion, right.
Stop justifying inefficiency of PTDF, I repeat.
EducationRe: 2017/2018 PTDF Scholarship Scheme (Overseas And Local) by guiddoti: 1:00pm On Sep 05, 2017
MTX321:
In my opinion PTDF is trying to optimize the what it has , instead of sponsoring 1scholar to study in UK with high tuition fees they opt to sponsor 5 to 10 scholar in countries with free tuition fee for international students.
And in the other hand, we have Been complaining about our state of education and our institution in Nigeria, so instead of taking the huge money abroad they choose the option of spending in country through LSS thereby improving the institutions and it's infrastructure.
And the delay might be due the pairing of the courses you filled in while applying for PTDF and the relevant institution that offered those courses.

I do not believe someone could just sit down and do nothing just because he wants you missed September intake.
(just my opinion)
Which optimization without deadlines? Stop justifying inefficiency of organization and nation that lack proper planning.

Everyone who was awarded LSS, including those who applied for OSS but were given LSS were contacted. This is because
1) Unlike the OSS scholars, must of the LSS guys are yet to secure admission.

2) Last year, ptdf had challenges with most of the top institutes in the country because these institute saw "government money" and were charging the sponsored PTDF candidates almost double of what they charged the self sponsored candidates and this led to the late payment of tuition and slash in allowance of LSS scholars by PTDF. So Ptdf need info on the schools they plan on attending so they can sort it out with the institute in time.
Your info sounds genuine. Don't stop giving your info. Cheers
