I hate people that like gaslighting. Every security agency have their primary objectives and other complementary objectives aimed as to strengthen both internal and external security of a nation.
My grouse with you is the fact that you're asking what is the function of FRSC and NSCDC. Just I always tell people, Police as the mother security have all the functions of other security outfits, even that of army. This was so because they were the first and only security outfit then,and they need to act as one. The only issue I have is the inconsistency of our system, most of these functions suppose to have been removed from their act to make them function as real police and not jack of all trades they are.
Besides, our governments are also contributing to the ineffectiveness of the security outfits, by their creating subsidiary outfits, aimed as to empower their cronies and benefactors. Instead of the money they are giving to non-state actors to provide security coverage to government assets be expended on the main stream outfits, they neglect them and make them inactive.
This country we have a long way to go with our back and forth way of administration.

sincerely we need these ones. Nothing thrives in an atmosphere of insecurity, it's just that those men and women in those forces and units are not properly trained and motivated. Men in Uniform securing the nation should actually be rated higher than the rest of us, some privileges much more than money that they will not want to lose and therefore protect the badge with all in them, and outright dismissal and loss of those privileges for any one of them that misbehaves. A well trained and motivated FRSC, NSCDC and NPF are all needed for us to have a sane society and yes they should operate as different units. Yes we do need them but they need to be looked into and find a better way to deploy them because of insecurity...the Failure of this outfits birthed AMOTEKUN and Eastern Security Network and their likes......
Now the Army are also involved in tracking kidnappers which isn't their duty...There's no war yet our soldiers are fighting as though we are fighting a conventional war ....Most of our security problems are internal and civil caused by Corruption of unimaginable magnitude ....If we can deal with that alone Nigeria is on the path to greatness....
If we can make people centred policy give the impression that they can rise to any Level by sheer determination and hardwork in Nigeria but not by Connection and bribes ...And would be rewarded duly for their contribution to society

You're asking what is the function of FRSC. Is there any country without a functioning Road Safety Corps in the world? Please can you point to one. It's not compulsory you comment on issues beyond your scope. Mind you, NSCDC is an international recognized agency in the world, with different countries code named as it suit them. Many countries called it Civil Protection Agency. Every security agency has its own scope, it's only in Nigeria you see police doing everything, thereby becoming jack of all trades but master of none. Police all over the world are only concern with internal security, especially criminal issues and nothing concern them with civil issues but here police want to do criminal issue, civil issue and also want to engage in defensive against external aggression. No developed country without immigration, prison, Road Safety and civil protection agency.

with the spate of insecurity...Those agencies would be Considered and some reforms are coming in Security we might even have Local Vigilante directly controlled by FG answerable to the Presidency if we don't see the essence of establishing them
...Gej almost created a Pipeline protection Security Corps.. There's another one called Peace Corp still in the National Assembly.......Am not against FRSC or Civil defense infact I Know the Professor that created FRSC from university of Ibadan...civil defense is fine noth withstanding this are all still Police responsibilities before they came into the System...
Civil defense was a volunteer security outfit or Private Security Company that helped in easing traffic in Lagos before obj discovered them...
We need a synergy that synchronize this units in such a way that their objectives are effective and Precise....
Just like in the art of war ..."A bad general is better two or more good general" ..If a General is bad you ex him if his soldiers are bad the general ex them...
We need a well coordinated approach in dealing with Security...Please keep sentiments aside ...This are real issues arising

not a fan of Tinubu at all, but this cut is needed. most of those things were merged not scrapped, the major cut will come from cost of running the leadership and management of those agencies... no need for plenty PAs and TAs and SAs and SSAs that those agencies are spending money to maintain(u dont want to know the amount of money these agencies are spending on these officers), no need for many DGs, no need for many Headquarters, those agencies have board members that cash out a lot of money, those agencies have senators and honorables performing oversight on them, which is an avenue for those lawmakers to demand bribe from them. Better coordination and synergy in some cases. maybe expansion of Agric ministry is necessary and people surplus to requirements in other ministries should be posted to the Ministry of Agric

Most of these Policies would have to go through the National Assembly..Senators would collect enough bribe to keep delaying it for as long as possible..
Except an executive powers is used to by pass these reforms...
Issues regarding Health Like Doctors and other health workers should be looked into....

This is a very good move by the CBN, anything to retain some foreign exchange in Nigeria is a welcome development.
I even expect the CBN to go a step further and mandate all these IOC to retain at least 10-20% of the foreign earnings in Nigeria.
Although the NNPCL is supposed to retain Nigeria's share of the earning,but we all know most of the funds is paid into the Consolidated fund and shared by FAAC,and some remitted to our foreign reserve.
Il believe the CBN should go the whole hog and make the law,the continued milking of Our resources to cater for some foreigners must stop.
I want to use this opportunity to applaud Nigerians on Nairaland who have continued to use these hard times to proffer great solutions to the Government.
I keep repeating it, Nairaland should be the bastion of intellectual discourse online.
I'm very happy for all those who keep giving suggestions despite the hardship,I read of the person who gave suggestions on a thread some day ago on the BTA some days ago and now Government implemented some of his suggestions.

CBN should also be made to Control all other regulatory agencies like Custom,....They should be uniform accounts for this .....All Duties should go electronic and should be given a code ......
Nigeria should have devised a system of Uniform revenue accounts paid through the internet .....
We should also promote Ideas from simple people stop killing people's minds by placing unnecessary bottlenecks on the Basis of qualifications, Connections, Tribalism, Privileges And disability....
Once we have a Single sense of Purpose to make it work ...Nothing on earth can Stop Us
