I will continue my #novaseline in a bit, meanwhile dickoflife you are kinda of a dick but then it will come as little suprise to anyone. school is school, i'm kind of a hit with the white girls in my class. NL'ders you cannot refuse to write GRE and TOEFL and magically expect funding. for this reason I am going to pay for someones GRE and subsidize that of 3 people not exceeding 30%. i thinkl adazlolly has been sending me 2 mails a week for free GRE if she mails me again fine, but they are all up for grabs.

You are absolutely right. I'm just throwing in that I've experienced them and when you get used to them, you'll somehow love the whole drama.

Do you know how much I missed those usual area boys fight along Iyana-Ipaja? My brother the people crack me up like mad. I trust you're doing good. I was looking out for you and wondering which of them chicks got you knocked out.

If there is one single thing I miss the most, it is jedi, I swear its like kilode. The girls here are corny, the akata girls either want you to bleep them in the rest room after 3kids @24 , refuse to bleep them and don't bother calling them the next day. I flow more with the white gals though I'm afraid o, you don't know where the games stop and the rape starts. I'm in a steady relationship or friendship sort of(the nomenclature is hard) but this place is fucki.ng drama #Novaseline

I'll move to a black community then.

Reject it bro, black communities(think South Chicago, West Baltimore, Central St. Louis) are paragons of crime, murder, drugs and given to all matter of debauchery. I commute more than 30miles a day from the suburbs just to get to school and escape blacks who for some weird reasons are not exactly in love with Africans. My barber in a black neighborhood(Glen Burnie) once asked asked me ' What language y'all speak where you're from? ' I'm like the lingual franca is Queen's English . he's like 'you speak franca' ? Let's just say I pretty much gave up after that.

Rookie Mistakes

In my time here I've made a lot of rookie mistakes but two particularly stand out because they were made in the last 48 hrs. Which is why I have had less than 9 hours of sleep in the last 3 or so days.

1. Never do shots or play drinking games with White male lawyers(and that includes law students) you are unlikely to make it out alive

2. Never go on a boat cruise with drunk, h.orny middle aged American women of any race(that includes Asian), they dance like kokoro, they don't get tired, they like it when you get frisky and they play Wizkid and Psquare. Walahi next week is strictly books.

Let's start with topical headings that will each be addressed.

Choice, decision, motivation and other f*cked up shit
Saying Nigeria is messed up is like saying Canada is a satellite campus of the US, we all know it comes with the 'territory'(pun intended). Forget that crap about better education blah blah and those other craps we vomit to VO's, the main motivation for getting out of here is economic, getting to see new things and meet new people is not a close second.
The problem is coming to the US cost money a problem further compounded by the Kindergarten exchange rate regime operated by the President and his journeymen. Can you process the admission, Visa and stuff with no money? No you can't but you can streamline the process, eliminate wastages but I advise you do not do this by cutting out standardised exams(GRE, GMAT) your funding, even visa decision might rest on it. Settle in on say two schools, if they accept scanned docs even better. Don't be shy asking for help here, mevisbleek and some other gurus here help. All for one, one for all if you believe that saying pls relocate to Ogbomosho.

Other headings follow...

I am going to write a 'no Vaseline' series about my experience here that most gurus tend to ignore or acknowledge. I get tons of PM's that ask I did not get GA how do I 'not fall out of status' how do peeps who fall out of status regularize ( maintaining status is easy i do not believe you should fall out of status in the first instance but I will answer truthfully all the same. I will also answer questions on how to transfer which I did by the way. I wish also address miscellaneous questions from girlfriends to groceries. Let's say 3:00pm Nigerian time. I pray Jah gives me the courage to follow through.

I see dickoflife is the trending topic here, although I would be the first to correctly deduce dickoflife is an oaf he did not lie about being in the states. We left the same day and met at the boarding gate which was his last sane day I'm afraid. I don't know what he is or isn't lying about, been in the States isn't one of them @warriboy. And he probably isn't lying about the ITIN too at least in Maryland, anyone can apply to the office of the Maryland comptroller and get it in 3 weeks, I leave you to deduce why he needs ITIN.

NB: And please no one should mail me asking redundant and seriously offensive questions about my 'relationship' with purplesummer , it was and off-cuff joke, get over it and if you like her tell her or if you want to know ask her, I will not be replying such mails again.

Its been more than a fortnight since I got here while I do not have the experience of the gurus, but I have seen 9 states. I am going to take a more introspective or even pessimistic realistic view.
First your life will not automatically improve when you get here, I have found out self improvement, the desire to be better is a function of what you have on the inside (your self belief, determination), as it has been rightly said an ant in Sango will not turn to an elephant in San Francisco.
Two there are two different types of America that largely never mix and are vastly different in resources and experience. Blacks have a raw deal in America, I will not pontificate about it. Visit Randallstown and WhiteMarsh just a few miles from each other in Baltimore county and see the vast difference in life. Segregation is real, before it was enforced by law now it is just by Money(credit).
As an African not black, Whites will treat you well and defer to you because you are not 'African-American' while African-Americans long the basement boys of America will mock you. I find the treatment of whites condescending while I find that of blacks ignorant, I just want to be treated like everybody else (pipe dreams)
Let me drum it in your ears, you might spend 5yrs here or 500 but you are not American and you'll never be, trying will cost you heartache and lost dignity, This days Americans don't even know what America is, your kids might turn out all American but nigg*r you ain't sh*t (ebonics)
You will meet a lot of peeps here, some high flying students, many that dropped out or never attended school, many that got sucked in just because they gave the devil a Mouth Action ( they smoked crack) .
I have good roads now, I don't worry about light, I don't even do my ironings a week in advance in fact I do no ironings at all, laundry is cheap but make no mistake the road, electricity, fast internet is not free you pay through the nose. Not paying bills will see you quickly relegated to 3rd world standard of living in America.
I was complaining to a friend and he was like knowing all this, would you do it again? Yes, I would!!! I had the courage to leave , leave behind family and friends (painful) and seek a better life. I receive a lot of PM's before my account got shut with people saying how is it? , I got visa and no funding , I don't have school fees I want to leave Nigeria , what school? People ask, should I come??
I can tell you the following, where there is a will, there is a way, you will have more rights than you ever did in Nigeria but don't break laws and make your own damn decisions.

*sorry for the epistle its not for everyone

GOODNEWS: CBN resumes dollar sales to BDCs today – The Nation
AUGUST 5, 2016 BY ABOKIFX
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will today resume dollar sales to Bureaux De Change (BDCs) seven months after it stopped the practice.

It stopped the sales last January because of what it called dollar scarcity and abuse of operating guidelines.

Speaking to The Nation yesterday, Aminu Gwadabe, Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON) President, said nearly 3,000 BDCs are expected to access dollar from the CBN today.

He said the BDCs had on Wednesday, funded their accounts with the CBN in readiness for the transaction, adding that dollar disbursement will start today and continue next week.

“Our members funded their accounts with the CBN on Wednesday and will get the dollar equivalent today. The funds will be sold at the prevailing inter-bank rate,” he said.

Gwadabe said the funds would come at one per cent commission, which has been agreed with the regulator.

The CBN directed the BDCs to render returns and comply with anti-money laundering regulations.

Gwadabe promised that the BDCs would abide by the directives and continually provide detailed reports on how previous dollars sourced from the CBN were utilised.
For more on this, read the complete version at http://abokifx.com/cbn-resumes-dollar-sales-bdcs-today-nation/
Indeed this should be good news to all of us.

This is not good news at all! First Nigeria is the only country that sells dollars to the black market, second the problem of the exchange rate is not lack of avenues to buy but simply lack of inflows of dollar, The CBN cannot solely supply liquidity to the market. South Africa sells an average of $30b/ WK on the interbank market , Nigeria with a larger economy is averaging $11m/wk . This is not good news at all if there is no burst of liquidity it will only drive speculation, round tripping and an even higher exchange rate. I wouldn't call it 'good news' just yet

Thanx, but it it true that ECE reduces GPA on evaluation as compared to WES where you tend to have a higher GPA, am gonna get my bsc evaluated as well. Just curious,
I read this on this thread part 4, 272
Has this happened to any1?

Brother flee from ECE like a mad prophet those guys will dice your GPA like kilode, IERF is better (I used them I'm not satisfied) but WES is the best if you are patient and have loads of time. GPA/ Standardized test is everything when it comes to funding here o.

Congratulations everyone that got their visa's hi2chuxy and the rest. Abeg don't come here without money o within a week wey I don dey here I don see walahi. I have probably spent more in this week than probably in any other week in my life.

First don't eat out, I'm talking Restaurant( fancy and not so fancy) , buffet , Chinese takeout, Popeye, dunkin donuts you will be hard pressed to get a decent meal for less than $15 if you now live somewhere with a sales tax(which I find particularly annoying) . I mostly ate out and ordered pizzas , wings and shii and my dollar reserve is bleep bleep thank God its August and I can finally use my card, but I'm learning how to cook now.

Second if you are a shayo master abeg drop your thirst in Lagos, I swear it is expensive here. The day wey I first land I dey do big boy I declare two Jack Daniels for boys and 24pk Heineken, the two with sales tax costs nearly $190+. Afterwards I have stuck with just Smirnoff you can get a 3ltr Smirnoff for like $30, if you can cut alcohol, cut it not me with this early morning cold it does get warm later in the day.

Again have fun while you're young don't be a slave to the dollar maybe I'm naive and will be disavowed of my lofty notions later... Just maybe

A costly mistake this is. Now you have to weigh the risks: forfeiting the flight fee or violating the entry rule. I still believe you can find a date before Sept 1. You may have to upgrade the ticket to fly Business Class at an extra cost if all economy seats have been filled within the 30 days of your resumption. Business class don't get filled quickly compared to economy. With that, you'll play safe. It would have been much easier if you booked directly other than through agents. That's my opinion. I hope it helps?

Bro how far, I go call you now

good morning everyone. I made a mistake booking my ticket. It states I am not allowed to enter the US until 30 days before the start date on my I-20. So here's the problem. My ticket is for July 31st to arrive August 1st. Start date is September 1st. It skipped my mind that August had 31 days and the earliest I can arrive is August 2nd. Called my travel agent to move the am date up e to 3 days but she is letting me know that there are no seats till mid September and due to summer prices have escalated. Could this pose a big problem to me? Thanks for your 2 cents guys.

Oga cancel your flight, there will be a $200 cancellation fee rather than tizk deportation, no be only that airline dey stop forming false impasse
